Credit crisis expands, hitting all kinds of consumer loans

if there is a "credit crisis" , i wonder why we are literally bombarded with credit card offers (mostly by american financial institutions !) by mail and telephone several times a week .
one "solicitor" told me that i didn't have to sign anything !
"just say 'YES' and i'll put your card in the mail " , he told me .
i'm almost beginning to feel sorry for all the credit card companies that are spending their scarce money to win me over , only to get turned down by me .
perhaps we should accept ALL cards , run up a huge debt and claim "senility" (that shouldn't be too difficult at my age :wink: ) .
