Nobody knows who will be the next US president. But just now it is clear what problems he will have to solve!
No doubts that the first one is immediate withdrawing our troops from Iraq. But then Bush's successor will need to admit the necessity of solving global warming problem, which was so successfully ignored by Bush Administration! USA has refused to join Kyoto Protocol on limitation of unhealthy atmospheric emissions. For years Bush team muzzled government scientists and edited their reports in order to weaken asserted links between greenhouse gases and climate change. And only in his second term Bush has finally offered a halfhearted acknowledgment of this problem, but without embracing serious solutions.
That's why I hope our next president will be more capable for understanding the whole importance and useless for us to work out together with the rest world a new international treaty on this issue, which is to change Kyoto Protocol. Our authorities should realize at last that their ecological concern should be effectual if they really strive for reserving our positive image in the world!
