"Intro: Study finds strong correlation between IQ and the TV shows a person finds enjoyable! And many of the shows enjoyed by high IQ individuals have a distinctly liberal tilt to them.
----------------------------------
Does anyone here get The American Journal of Psychiatry? If you do, open it up to around the 18th page or so.
There was a study in there about various correlations between IQ and the tv shows that a person finds enjoyable.
According to the study those individuals who find reality shows and game shows enjoyable statistically on average have a 23 point lower IQ than those who do not!! Sports fans seem to have a slightly lower IQ on average as well.
They found the opposite relationship between various shows including Real Time with Bill Maher!!, Frontline!!, The Colbert Report!!, The Daily Show!!, Firefly!!, Freaks and Geeks!!, Arrested Development!! and the television network PBS!!.
They didn't find much of a correlation either way with most sitcoms or with people who watch the regular news. Though as indicated above, sarcastic fake news shows seems to be correlated with a higher IQ.
They also mentioned Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars as shows found enjoyable by high IQ females.
The strongest correlation they found was with the show "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip!!" (a drama/comedy with a distinct liberal tilt). Those with higher IQs were very likely to find the show enjoyable.
I'm surprised someone actually had the balls to go out and do this study and publish the results!"
