Ashcroft will be speaking to law enforcement personel at a closed meeting in or near Faniuel Hall. Does anyone want to meet there to protest? the meeting is about tooting his patriot act II and a third act he wants called the victory act.
Anyone interested and able to come? It's tomorrow morning at 9 am.
Sorry HBob. But, just think how much of a difference you could make over there in crazy conservativille. Here, most people are liberal.
Here's hoping I actually make it to Boston at 9am (not a morning person).

Funny. But, I'm pretty reserved. I'll just hold up a big obnoxious sign.

k, we want a report from you!
Quote:
Outside the hall, hundreds of protesters argued that Ashcroft's act defied the civil liberties that the early patriots sought to protect during debates at Faneuil Hall two centuries ago.
''Shame, shame, shame,'' they chanted as Ashcroft was whisked away through the barricades in a car with tinted windows.
''This is eroding our liberties,'' said Christine Downing, 58, of the Charlestown section of Boston. ''It's an end run around the Bill of Rights.''
The crowd, which gathered at 8 a.m. and chanted throughout Ashcroft's speech, carried signs saying: ''Ashcroft's Patriot Act: The work of a traitor'', ''Be a real patriot oppose the Patriot Act'' and ''Ashcroft more evil than Steinbrenner,'' a reference to the owner of the New York Yankees.
Boston City Police estimate there were 1,200 protesters on hand outside Faneuil Hall during Ashcroft's speech.
They're still pushing that brick? I guess I only dreamed it died of public exposure.

Well, I didn't either, of course, but it looks like our spirit was well-represented.
What 'brick' do you refer to, rog?

I'm betting he's talking to the patriot act ensemble. But, who knows.
I was misinformed. I would have gotten there at 9am and missed it all. I wonder about those who were there to listen (the hand-picked few).

Forgive me, but I'm still clueless.
I just Googled "patriot act ensemble" and got several dozen websites in French.
I'm missing what you two apparently get...

Just that the 1st patriot act was pased while the whole country was freaked out about 9/11. The second round got way more press before it ccame to a vote and was so widely talked about that I thought it would get dropped. Now there's the victory act as well.
That's all.

I think that maybe PDiddie gave us too much credit for thinking deeper into the topic.
