I'm not too sure that an educated underclass would be good for the far right. I knew several TFA selectees at UMBC, all had come from the sort of cesspit neighborhoods that TFA focuses on, and were eager to go back and share their own good fortune.
The Bush admin and the far right seem to embrace the 19th century concept of the "deserving poor," i.e. those who don't ask for assistance are the deserving ones. Makes it easy, since you don't have to give them any. To many on the far right, poverty is equated with poor character, which actually seems more a factor of the uber wealthy.
