The Social Committee met the other night. They all threw out the Jaws suggestion. They liked the "Creature from the Black Lagoon" and other suggestions you guys provided... The idea of it being dark and scary.
I posed the question of whether or not they wanted to watch / center their attention on a movie or party?
PARTY!
So, I asked them about the idea of playing the "Love Boat" series and set up around the pool like a cruise ship. As they enter with their "passport" ticket they get announced as Mr. & Mrs. So and So of the Chesterfield So & So's etc like they do on cruise ships for the Captains Dinner.
Then have a few casino tables set up in one area, a bar in another area, the Love Boat series playing on the big screen with rafts in the pool for those that want to watch, a food table area with waiters and white table cloths, maybe a shuffle board chalked onto the concrete...
They loved it! That's a go.
Now I get to figure out how to make it all come together, starting with turning the entrance gazebo into a ship and finding Captain Stubing. It's not until August, so if anyone wants to volunteer you have plenty of time to make travel plans.
