One of our previous dogs (small too) used to get so upset when we left
him alone, he jumped on our leather sofa and started scratching
his life away. The sofa looked horrible after a few months, and we never
could train him to NOT go on the sofa. Well, he stayed off it when we
were at home, but the minute we left he was on it and started digging....
Oh great!
I have a leather sofa ready to be delivered, because I got so goddam sick of having my lovely fabric one covered in throws all the time, because of bloody cat fur and such.
She's DEAD if she scratches the leather.
Well, have the squirt gun ready, that's all I'm saying...

Yes.
I'd always kind of thought they had less extended chewing/generally destructive adolescences, though?
Is that true?
Big dogs seem to be murder until about two.....is that period shorter or the same for little dogs, generally speaking?

Yeah.....sounds as though she's out of the living room when I am out until I see how she goes.
She's generally good with scratching...came to me trained by her mum to a scratching post and all...but, after two "strokes" she is less reliable in that regard than she was.
I'm delighted that you have such a healthy attitude about your dog's junk. And as far as your inside joke with your gal pal "ha ha ha ha ha ha, good one". Sorry your feathers are so easily ruffled, I forgot I was talking to a male (of uncertain age and uncertain maturity). It's soooooooooooooooo clear you are on top of this dog situation, forgive me.
Consider yourself forgiven. I'm magnanimous like that.
Thank you young man, now just get yourself smart about the dog.
I will do my level best ma'am.
Does your mother know you are still up????
lol. He looks so innocent. Harry, the adorable little ball of energy.

They all do.
Actually, they ARE innocent.
And that's what makes them so adorable and it is why we love them so much--to see something we have lost.

Hmmmm....personally, I am very attached to my thumbs and my higher brain functions......
I'd find them more adorable if they learned to use, and flush, the loo, and vacuum after their own fur.
That is a great commercial, CJ! I'd buy that dog food if I had a dog.
Deb, I love my opposable thumbs and my higher brain functions, but I adore the innocence that we have left behind in order to have those very useful items. And I sure as hell wouldn't give them up for innocence.
CJane, that as very cute. Problem is, when I go to YouTube, I spend way too much time looking at other videos.
Di, do you have an addictive personality?
I know what you mean... you the opportunity and the motivation, so off you go and soon enough, an hour has passed and you've missed some good board fights. It's bedevilling.
Mame, you understand!! I can lose most of a day reading a good book or losing an hour or so, listening to fabulous music...or watching YouTube videos.
Addictive? God yes.
Last night, I followed one of shewolf's south park youtube links and got lost for hours...
I'm surprised I made it back.
