The new Herbert Hoover in the Whitehouse

It seems like an insult to compare President Herbert Hoover with President George W. Bush, but the similarities are inescapable. At least Hoover was a smart man with a humanitarian heart, but he did almost nothing to avoid the Great Depression. At least he didn't get the U.S. in a war while he let the economy die.

There's no escaping it any longer. Bush is the new Hoover of the 21st century. Dick Gephardt was right during last night's debate. Bush is a miserable failure of a president in both economic and foreign policy.
