John McCain admits Iraq War was over oil

We're gonna go ahead and report this story, even though we run the risk of the GOP suing us for "taking McCain's quotes out of context." </snark> At a town hall meeting today, Senator McCain made a stunning admission when he announced that his energy policy would aim to reduce our dependence on Middle East oil, which would in turn ensure that we never have to fight another war there again.

Five years for the truth to float to the top of what he's thinking.

How would he know there wouldn't be another reason in the future?

"McCain wants to stay in Iraq until no more Americans are getting killed, no matter how long it takes and how many Americans get killed achieving that goal -- that is, the goal of not getting any more Americans killed. And once that goal is achieved, we'll stay."
-- Rick Hertzberg, in The New Yorker

GROSS misrepresentation of the statement. However, somehow I think you and the writer know that..

McCAIN: As long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed. That's fine with me, I hope that would be fine with you, if we maintain a presence in a very volatile part of the world where Al Queada is training and equipping and recruiting and motivating people every single day.

Not suggesting I agree, but try and be objective.

confused woyio ?, there are a handful of posters on this forum who actually do seek objectivity, neither you nor I are among them.
