WASHINGTON - The United States said Wednesday it will not meet an April 2004 deadline for destroying 45 percent of its chemical weapons stockpile. The Pentagon said it has asked the world body that governs the destruction requirement for a delay until December 2007.
The United States has destroyed about 23 percent of its declared stockpile of 31,280 tons of mustard gas, sarin and other chemical weapons. Environmental, safety and other problems at high-temperature incinerators have made it impossible to meet the 2004 deadline, the Pentagon said.
You know this means war, don't you?
this blatent disregard for international law can not be allowed, If the U.N. refuses to act, we must accept the coalition of the willing (avoiding the "old america") to make the world safe for democracy. The inspectors have been hoodwinked.
The biggest WoMD on earth is sitting in the whitehouse.
You got that right, Wilso -- the itchy trigger finger is on the button, poised to do the deed if he personally feels it is necessary. He can't even eat a pretzel properly (course, it could have been the lack or the presence of a swig of beer).
