Prisoners re-enter society

Hi everyone, I think that every person has his right to live in a society no matter even if he was a prisoner in his early life. Most of the prisoners are racial or ethnic minorities and have difficulty in re-entering the society as they are faced with poverty and this leads to crime for which they are re-arrested are convicted and re-incarcerated and this adds a burden on the government in respect of tax-payers. What are your views on this?

Re-entering society, that's where truck drivers and Alaskans come from (Ha!). I'm all about lettin' folk off, come what may, I mean, if you're a hard case it's what you do, and if not 5 years or less ought to make an impression and settle the score - I think decade-plus (but short of life) sentences are mind bending beyond purpose. I'm for life sentences, as a pragmatic matter, since death, I don't find it barbaric, or unwarranted in cases, but that it's impossible for the state to recant to any small extent if they make an error, and some lunatics just can't play well with others.

Modified or unmodified military service as an alternative - makes so much sense it's scary. I mean the function of (re)gaining citizenship (effectively) through service, pre-existing violent tendencies, no homesickness, psychological advantage on other nations... You could call it cruel/unusual or too much like forceful indenturement, but the whole trial-by-peers is becoming a joke anyway with legal fees, plea bargains, nolo-contendre, celebrity rehabs and all that. So if we just let it happen when highly appropriate, like if the force wants 'em on an individual basis, and if they're feeling it, and so on it's just taking more flexibility/effectiveness for at worst the same softness of principle...

I disagree with Megan's Law too - I mean, lock 'em up or let 'em loose but don't turn our nations suburbs into an extension of the penal system. Maybe keep tabs on them as possible and do statistics by community. Also, if parents don't take charge it's a lot of work to piss into the wind. Let 'em vote in federal elections as well, I mean, it's fun to dis-entitle others, but do we really not want to know what they's thinking? Mighty convenient if the G wanted to shut someone up...
