In a press release dated April 24, 2006, Pelosi said, "Democrats have a commonsense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices by cracking down on price gouging, rolling back the billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies, tax breaks and royalty relief given to big oil and gas companies, and increasing production of alternative fuels." The letter cited policies put in place during the GOP control of Congress that the Speaker claimed had raised prices on American consumers to benefit oil companies.

The House GOP leaders' letter points out that the price of gasoline has spiked $1.18 since Democrats took over in January and stands at $3.51.

So, where is this plan she was touting?
She made a commitment for the whole dem leadership, but she hasnt come thru.

Why not!!

Well, haven't gas prices doubled or even tripled since Bush first assumed the White House?

Hasn't he been notorious for having no real game plan for anything? I'd like to see a commonsense plan to do anything come out of the White House.
It's been nearly a decade since that happened.

I agree, but she specifically said that the dems had a plan and would present it.
She claimed that the plan already existed, but she (nor any of the other dem leaders in Congress) have actually produced the plan.

Did she lie just to get votes?
I thought only repubs did that.

It became law on 12/19/07. I can understand you not being aware of the laws that are passed MM. But I would think that the GOP leadership would be aware.

I didnt know it had become law, but apparently nobody else knows that either.
Otherwise, gas prices would have come down.
They havent, have they?

You might try reading the law to see when certain parts of it go into effect before you blame a law that is only 4 month old for the recent increase in gas prices.
Gas futures are for a longer time than 4 months. Present gas prices could well be the result of futures bought 6 months ago.

If only the so called intellectual American can
control the price of oil and morality of the humanity
everyone will be an athiest like me.
But Oil price is being controlled by other corporate criminals
and innocent wage earning woring people.
Let us consume less and be more critical.
