"Only through constant activism, lobbying and vigilance can we escort martial law away from American shores and live peacefully in a society where we do not cower in fear of the armed security guard barking orders at us when simply walking down the street, "citizen, show me your papers."
That's right. We can also cower in fear of our lives without protection from criminal scumbags looking to rob, rape and destroy our property.
That is the choice today.
I like EBR's. Show me more.
Notice that Diane seems quite comfortable holding that "assault rifle"?
She's one of only 12 people in the city of San Francisco who have concealed weapons permits.

No, she's just precious the way she is.
If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.

Obviouly the jackbooted thugs are there so people get used to seeing them before Bush declares war on Iran and imposes Martial law on the US usurping the constitution and starting a new reign of terror on all US citizens.
This thread is silly, since New Yorkers have seen these teams of police above ground, moving around Manhattan for awhile now. The fact that they are also now in the subway is a non-event. Most New Yorkers appreciate the effort to maintain their safety. If this level of protection bothers non-New Yorkers, it's really a non-sequitor. New York City is not for everyone, I believe.
My uncle in madras( chennai) had a bitter experience in NY and had warned me not to take any risk.
Fact is this.
Most of the germans with whome i communicate had the same view like that of my uncle.
I think that is fine. Don't let me dissuade you from staying away from NYC.
