The German citizens back then were not aware of what Hitler & his army were doing to the jews. They didn't know about the torture & death taking place. How do I know that? I asked my mom, that is how.
In high school, the teachers told us the German people knew what was happening at the time. I believe my mom. Just like the average American citizen doesn't have a clue as to what goes on in our jails or prisons.
