Thousands gather at the Ferry Building Plaza but apparently the ceremonies have been cancelled, no one knows where the torch is or where it is headed.
Anyway, it was a fun day watching the pro-Olympic Chinese argue with the Free Tibet protesters. I have been to a lot of big events but I have never seen so much media in my life. I guess the Free Tibet side won as so much attention has been paid to the cause anf the closing ceremonies at the Ferry Building Plaza was cancelled.
The Chinese authorities have been adamant that they would take the Olympic Torch to Tibet whatever be the consequences. They intend taking the torch twice. On the first occasion in the last week of April and the first week of May, it will be taken to the top of the Everest. It will then be taken to other Chinese provinces. It will be brought back to Tibet between June 19 and 21, 2008, and taken across Lhasa and some other towns. A further escalation of violence can be expected during these two periods.

I know the noble prize winner as a small child when he came to India ( Nehru's time)
I see him very ofen in Germany. And he will be here in Mai.
My question is this.
Is Olympic game unadulterate commercial event or something to do with ethical ?
Is this Lama a religious head or immigrant head of state?
Why the hell Europeans are afraid to protest against a cause which they probagate around the globe.?
I am not Dalai Lama
my name is Rama
hey roxxy, thanks for the great picture of the dalai lama.
neither Gandhi nor Karl marx won the nole title.( not a bad qualification)
Those who strive hard to uphold Dalai Lama should make a trip to Burma
Nepal( I had been there as an observer)
Srilanka ( English regime's mistake)
where the pious buddhists are prevalent.
Dare to face China
And try to uphold decency
