I still laugh when I think about that show sometimes.
They had a character on the show -- a blues singer -- who would make up crazy songs and preface them by saying, "Like to hear it? Here it goes..."
There was one bit where a family was having a funeral for the dad -- and the blues singer was there. He'd written a song about the dad and he says, "Like to hear it? Here it goes...." and he starts singing about how the dad was always running around with other women, fathered a bunch of other kids, was a drunk, etc. And the family looks all horrified and starts crying.....
Then there was the Wanda character. Wanda was pretty.....pretty
bad looking. She'd be on a date, and the guy would try to find some excuse to get away from her. But she'd heard every excuse in the book, and was ready for them.
One guys says to her, "um, I'm out of cigarettes, I've got to get some," and she says, "You don't have to do that, baby. I got your cigarettes right here," and she pulls them out of her purse. "I got matches for you too."
So the guy sits there thinking and finally says, "um, my car's getting low on gas.....I've got to go get some gas......"
And Wanda says, "I got you covered, baby!" And she pulls two cans of gas out of purse and says, "You want regular or high octane?"
I'm tellin ya. That show cracked me up.
