Spitzer: "I Like to Bite My Lip in Shame."

Skimming Spitzer-related articles the past couple days, the most indelible impression left is this: he prefers to bite his lip to convey a feeling of shame.

I know, I know--something about hookers and hypocrisy.

But more importantly, in every picture I've seen, he looks like a first grader who has been banished to the back of the bus for shitting his pants. I'm not sure that he does, in fact, have lips at all.

He looks like a pug that knows it's done wrong, having chewed your wallet. He looks like he's spent the entire day sucking lemons. Or a hooker's breasts.

And we're done.

I'm sure he's freaked. But this is simply the face that attempts to publicly reconcile his former anti-corruption political persona with the hooker news. It's "deep shame" he's practiced in the mirror I'm sure.

I believe if we could look into Spitzer's mind during this whole ordeal, we would have the answer to his facial contortions.

I believe he is thinking, "Maybe if I can get myself to look like Bill Cowher the public will forget this whole sordid mess and start thinking about football instead."

I haven't a clue what these chimp-like lip grimaces might mean, but in his eyes I see not a whit of remorse. The eyes look angry, which, apparently, was his default emotion as AG and governor.

Perhaps, all the publicity will have a silver lining, in that more men will see that if one is fortunate to have a wife and child(ren), then it only makes sense to focus one's existence in their direction, since it is a blessing to have family.

Yes, that's what I get from it too. "Damn these bloodthirsty media people -- I'll look contrite as I can and get the hell out of here."
