It's fine, Beth. I don't know how the news that Cav was ill eluded me for these weeks. I feel very sorry I didn't get to add to the hospital thread and reach him before he died. But he knew we all cared and were concerned and that's what's important. My ignorance is due to my working non-stop on an important project and not getting around to many of the threads I usually do. I understood that you didn't know I didn't know. Several others thought the same. I'm glad you told me because I don't think evading grief with a funny distraction is helpful. (oddly, I was just going to send the email invitation to Cav when I got your message, so I was really shocked. But there's no easy way to deliver such bad bad news.) We'll grieve and then we can get back to my thread. Thanks.

The hotmail address is here on my profile. I do not know what you refer to re Seydlitz materials but I guess I'll find out.

He now has G OB's e-mail and will re-send it, directly this time.
Following that confusion S. suspected me - on another forum, where I use the same name - of being an impersonator and asked me (in German) to come back and post chapter and verse from v. Clausewitz; only after I obliged did he decide I'm really me <G>
Oh, I think we all believe you are really you, Hellen. What's worse is that I suspect Bernie is really Bernie, and Lola, really Lola. (Frank, however is really an automatic toll booth on the New jerseey Turnpike, gone bad.)
