Ooh, I wish I COULD be there! My favorite aunt is a travel planner in San Mateo and has been bugging me to come visit for quite awhile. Unfortunately, I am forbidden to fly anywhere for the time being. So I hope all of you have a great time, and please order an extra bottle of wine for me. (Make it a good one!)

Who knew there were so many people on A2K with hearing loss?! I had no idea. You guys are GREAT!

Fortunately, I can hear...........or is that unfortunately.......I have to hear for so many. Giggle. Sorry I missed the party last night. I was buuuuuuuuuuuuusssssy.

Can't wait for SF. I wish you all could be there!

Wassau, honey, how about a midnight coffee with a little cognac and then walk me home to my apartment down the street? Late night.

But eva, maybe you could make the second SF a2k meeting, whenever that is. San Mateo, there is a serious grocery store there....

Perhaps a less citified one next time, more lolling about.

Eva, I forgot about not flying. That could put you in serious pain! We will certainly order a wine for you Eva. What kind do you like?

I hope we remember to take a picture of all of us toasting Eva. We are also going to be toasting Osso and PDiddie for all the work they've done finding restaurants and places to go. Of course, c.i. is the one who will get the biggest toast for starting what has turned out to be a wonderful gathering of great people

Osso, something less citified sounds lovely. Not too far to go to the city, but far enough away that we wouldn't have to worry about crowds and noise. More time to relax and enjoy the chance to get to know each other and to enjoy the scenery of California.

Wassau, I'll have some champagne, the one alcoholic drink that I can handle fairly well. I'll sit outside watching HofT and Lola in the treehouse planning who knows what?

Have a glass of pinot grigio (my current favorite) for me, Diane. I would be truly honored.

My aunt, the travel planner in San Mateo, does group travel. I could ask her about places nearby? Wine country or on the coast?

Eva,

How is your ear? I haven't heard a current report. I hope you're better. I used to like Pinot Grigio best, but I've discovered New Zealand Savingnon Blanc............yummy. My favorite is Tohu but there are many others as well, not all, but almost all are very nice wines with an interesting bite. And white wine from the Sancerre region of France (it's a savingnon blanc without name) is also very dependably good.

Good night all..........see you all soon.

I have liked both Sasparilla and Sancerre. So, do I get points, or coupons, or lottery tickets?

Osso,

You get whatever you like. What will it be? Wassau..........osso wants something........Sancerre or Sasparilla.......I've never tasted Sasparilla. What is it? (Revealing Lola's lack of sophistication...once again.)

firstthought............how nice to see you. Where've you been?

Eva, how's your ear/hearing? I haven't heard. I've been extra busy lately and haven't had enough time to keep up around a2k. I've been missing everyone.

Lonely Lola.........<wiping away a lone tear, smiling.........happy to see her friends at cafe>

Good morning, Lola! Seems I've lost about 40% of my hearing in both ears. Hopefully, it's temporary but it's too soon to tell. I go back to the doctor on Wed. Am trying to adapt to a world filled with meaningless noise. Some days are better than others.

It's early. Think I'll have a sasparilla, too. (Precursor to root beer, Lola. Very similar.) We'll leave the Sancerre to a bit later.

It's good to have you back where you belong, Lola. <<Satchmo playing on the jukebox>>

I think you're right, osso. Musta been the caffeine (in the absence of alcohol) that made him hop.

Now that I've learned how to post photos on the Gallery, here are a few of me and my daughters, as well as the San Francisco crowd from last week end. We had fun.

Your granddaughter looks so serious on the outside, but like she has some little private joke of her own that we don't know about. I love her!

Isn't she cute, marycat? The photo has caught her in a serious moment. But she's usually laughing. She's a great kid.

Thank you very much for following up, FirstThought; seems not much is happening on that front.

Lola, if you still have the 4 e-mails I sent as hard copy and Blatham scanned, could either of you please send them to me by e-mail - the address [email protected] still exists for some reason.

Thanks, nice to read you all.
