The pointy bra comes in handy when I need to poke someone in the eye who tires to get too fresh with me without paying me the appropriate amount of money Twisted Evil

Ahh my hair - jet black, silky, shiny, and artfully dishevealed !! Framing my exquiste face like the dark clouds frame the beautiful full moon !!

And because this is Eva's b'day - I am going to perform a special dance for her !! In private !! <GRIN>

Yet to decide for on a present for her....

I would have given you the stars,
But they would be ashamed by the twinkle in yr eyes,
I would have given you the moon,
But it would have been ashamed by the radiance of yr beauty,
I would have given you the sun,
But it would be dazzled by shine in yr smile,
I would have given you the wind,
But it would worry yr silken hair,
I would have given you the seas,
But they would have drowned in the depth of yr kindness,
So in the end I give you my love and best wishes,
and pray that you be my friend for ever...

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!

Wow...Lola, Gautam and I are all Libras. (When are your birthdays? Come on, don't be coy. Nobody here would believe that.) No wonder we get along so well! Yes, let's all be part of the problem today, for a change. Twisted Evil

Ooh, loved the Lennon-McCartney, timber, and Gautam's poem was typically sensuous and affectionate. (Friends forever? Yes, let's!) And brownie cake from Diane! Well come on, you guys, you have to share! Mmmmm..... Cool

Now let's see that dance, Gautam! Yes, right out here in the middle of the cafe' so we can all enjoy it. Don't be shy... Laughing Laughing Laughing

Ooh, a risque' double-birthday dance! How exciting!!!

Diane, it's a good thing you made an extra-large brownie birthday cake. It's going to have to last us for two days!

(Friends took me to P.F. Chang's for lunch. The fortune cookie said I should have some fun this weekend. Looks like I'm in the right place for it, too!)

In full trust nobody will remember, I'll disclose that my birthday is November 13th. Without being too specific, I recall my parent's elation at their discovery Dewey had in fact lost to Truman, the Chicago Tribune not withstanding. It meant little to me at the time beyond the rare opportunity to bamboozle a babysitter on a school night. I was satisfied with that. On reflection, I must admit that was one of the few Presidential Elections I have found to have been entirely satisfactory.

Oh yes, timber, we will remember! I will put it on my calendar right now!

CONGRATULATIONS, LOLA!!!
That is SOME achievement! No wonder you've been so busy lately! We should break out the champagne, I think. Yes, Wassau, a glass for everyone, and leave a few bottles there on the bar...

CHEERS!

Congrats, Lola ... but no bubbly for me right now ... I've got a bit of healing to catch up on. I can still drink like I kid, but I don't recover like one Laughing

And cheers to Guatam ... here's to wishes for many more <timber lifts a fizzing glass of AlkaSeltzer>

Happy Birthday, Gautum! I wish you many more.

And Timber, so you're one of those older, wise men......(meaning older than me by only a few years). How interesting. Tell us more.

I was born in 46, the year you remember. My first awareness of a president was Eisenhower. I can remember the election year, was it 1950 or 54, when Eisenhower defeated Stevenson? I can remember my father, dominating the TV set (so it would have to been 54, I think) with his buddies. He was yelling at the TV set, during the Democratic Convention, shaking his fist (just like I do now.) My father was a committed Republican.........poor dear man. I loved him so, even if he was deluded about politics. Laughing

P.S. Sorry about the hangover. I was wise last night and only drank a glass and a half of bubbly. (after my carrying on last week end with the Sancerre...........but I just love the taste of that stuff.)

Wassau, it's coffee time this Sunday morning. Eva, will you sit down here with Gautum, Timber and I and we can all relax, read the paper and sip on Wassau's wonderful coffee?

OK, back from Austin. The company was magnificent, the fun, ceaseless. It was an all day and all night party (and I do mean all night Very Happy ). I was very sad to leave. But happy (if still very sad) to be back at the cafe again.

Wassau, I need some coffee............got to bed very late last night.

Today I am 57 years old. And did I mention that I was feeling sad? But not about my age.........just missing the fun friends from the week end.
