@spendius,
No, Fritz isn't my real name. No German in me, as far as I know. Brown hair...well, brown and gray.

EVENING

Everyone visits Ed's NIGHTCLUB, including nancy girls...

*I'm not sure if nancy girls is supposed to be one word or two - I don't even really know what they are - I've just heard the term

@aidan,
Well, I've heard of nancy-boys but not nancy-girls, so I looked it up at Urban Dictionary. They spell n-g as one word, but n-b is spelled three different ways, so anyway you want to spell it works, I suppose. It has six different definitions. Here is the link:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=nancygirl

NIGHTCLUB

Nancy is getting head; those COSMOPOLITANS lubricate urban boys.

STARTER

Sip the ABSINTHE - relax, Ted...elude reality

Fritz that was funny - my favorite definition of nancygirl (now I know it's one word):
a nancyboy's bitch.
I also like this one because it goes back to good old Nancy Drew - I loved her- so smart and competent
5. Don't hire a male detective, men can't do ****...Hire a nancygirl, she'll get the job done!

@aidan,
I had The Hardy Boys, myself, but I did read plenty of my sister's Nancy Drews. Are you a fan of detective fiction?

Yep - I read Nancy Drew religiously- I still have all my copies - saved for my daughter who didn't read even one- she didn't read my little house on the prairie books either - oh well, to each his own...

I'm looking forward to Kenneth Brannagh's depiction of Detective Wallender - this Swedish detective - the author is this guy named Mankell - I like his stuff - sort of dark- but sort of literary and more well-written than a lot of mysteries (just in case you like mysteries). I read a review and they said the location (Ystad) and cinemetography are just as riveting as the mystery...sounds pretty good.

The word is THINKING

@spendius,
I'm in a rut, just reading and rereading my collection of twentysomething Nero Wolfes. When I was growing up I read Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot. I don't think I ever read any current works, then or now.

'Look, it's time to LEVITATE, Ed'

Yeah - I used to really like Agatha Christie - sometimes I think back on the stuff I was reading and think I must have been such a weird kid - none of my friends ever read that stuff...but I wasn't outwardly weird...I don't think anyone would have looked at me and guessed I was reading Agatha Christie instead of Judy Blume...
