Sticking my head in to make sure Iz made it home. So glad to see it. Love hearing all the happy stuff...praying that this is the beginning of a stronger R-boy. So proud of him for pulling himself together...see it as an amazingly positive thing. ((Izzie)) Glad your home. Rest well.

Hi there Dutchy ((Dutchy))

Had another game - we won. Both the teams we are playing on are battling for 1st place. Right now we are breathing down the necks of the #1 team and we still have over half the season left. Baseball is awesome. Allergies - not so much - sneezing my dang head off.

hugs y'all

Bazza, can you describe the figurehead of the Cutty Sark and do you know the story?

First the figurehead (with thanks to Ms Letty)....
Cutty Sark’s figurehead is a young witch named ‘Nannie’ who was a character in the poem "Tam O'Shanter", by the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns. This poem, penned in 1790, recalls the ancient legend of Tam, a farmer who, after an evening drinking with friends, was riding home on his horse called Meg. On his way home, he saw that the churchyard of Kirk Alloway was occupied by a collection of warlocks and witches, with the Devil himself playing the bagpipes.

The astonished Tam saw that among the ugly group of witches, there was one which was young and beautiful. Her name was Nannie, and she wore only a 'cutty sark', a short shift. Tam was bewitched and, as her dancing became wilder, in his excitement, he cried out "Weel done cutty sark!" The witches then pursued Tam who fled for his life to the bridge over the river Doon, for he knew that witches could not cross running water. Nannie was faster than the others and, as the mare galloped over the bridge, she seized it by the tail, which came off in her hand. Hence, the figurehead is always shown holding a horse's tail in her left hand.

A replica figurehead currently adorns the ship's bow and the original figurehead is in the Trust's collection of museum objects. Cutty Sark's figurehead was designed by Hercules Linton (who also designed the ship), and carved by F. Hellyer of Blackwall. When Cutty Sark still sailed, the apprentices on board the ship would make a horse's tail from old rope and place it in Nannie’s outstretched arm.

Hey girl - glad you slept well. Hmm? Wondering what you were talking about in your sleep? Could be interesting...inquiring minds... Wink

I have company coming in tonight. So I am up in a mad rush cleaning. I forgot they were coming. Got the message when we got home late last night. Such is life...Just going to get things as neat as possible and enjoy the friends.

Probably won't be on again until tomorrow sometime. Just want you all to know I was thinking about you.

Hope you all have a great day!

Thinking of you too, Izzie, just on general principal. Not looking forward to this.

When I was in Norway, I saw this painting in the flesh, so to speak. I know of what Munch painted:

Gonna be gammafied.

The highest praise my father could give was to call me a good kid. You, Captain Izzie, are a very good kid.

Izzie, you dear creature, you still have the power to astonish.

Guitar? I've got a lesson with Trevor tomorrow. Trevor is Welsh, and what he doesn't know about jazz guitar, isn't worth knowing.

@Dutchy,
Good Morning Izzie and crew!

Izzie - hope all goes well at the docs and getting the hair done. I just had mine streaked....but Dutchy - I look horrid as a blonde - I am definitely a brunette. You may think I have blonde roots - but I still say flakiness is not subject to one hair color. Wink

Dutchy - I am sorry you got poked with a needle. Just turn your head and take a deep breath next time...oh wait - is that something else they are checking Shocked ? Oh no - that would be coughing - I guess...That's a man thing.

I have enjoyed my friends. I am about to go make them breakfast - then I am up to the school for a bit.
Hopefully, I will see you later.

Hugs,
mis

@mismi,
I am back. I got a lot done today...saw my friends off...they will be back next week for a couple of nights. They are actually moving to China in July and have to go to the hospital close by here to get some of their medical needs seen to before they move.

I love having them though.

The house - my house - is clean. I think this is the first time in a while that I feel like I finally have everything done that I needed to get done today. I have to say it is a pretty darn good feeling. That hardly ever happens!

How is everyone doing?

Izzie - did you have to go to work today?

Hugs to you all...

@mismi,
Hey Mis...

oh noooooooooooo.... we're off til Monday but I'm not going in til Tuesday. Am taking off for a few days and going along the coast and then back into work and a verra busy term for the Summer.

Didn't get to do my garden again today, way too much going on and I am tending to faff alot throughout the time I am here - so.must.be.organised.

Things are good tho Mis.

Got an email from SS re BigBoy who will reply to me by Friday. 'Tis all going ahead tho. R-boy is moving out so now i just gotta push SS into making sure they are gonna ensure, in black and white, that he will still have the support he needs. A friend has been helping me compile a letter - it was supposed to be 2 pages... ooooooops my verra bad and it was 7 - what can ya do a? SS have acknowledged it and are time limited to respond to me.

I'm calm now. Spoke to his carers - there's a good Rboy crew member covering him so... I gotta go with a hope and prayer and little trust this carer is telling me the truth and R will not be left high and dry in a world he has not been prepared for.

S-boy is coco and over with Tulip and off out tomorrow for the day with them. I shall be on and offline until Monday but hoping to have internet connection this time and a mobile that works, and signal. My laptop got ansty with me at FQ's and something horrible happened to it but it seems to be playing ball at the moment as long as I don't try and call up any pictures, at which stage it seems to throw a big hissy fit and dies on me.

Anyhooooooooooooo- glad your day has been good darling girl and that you've enjoyed your friends coming to visit and will see them again soon.

Are the little fellas all OK. Did the parcel arrive yet? Are you feeling better now?

How is Prof doing with his job - all OK on the western front?

Love you Missy - always always. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey you

Yep, no probs, had the needle, got a pain down my arm this time - always when the needle comes out, not in - bruised my vein. Be gone in a couple days. So, done that til next month.

Thinking of you and looking forward to a tango shortly.... ya know, if we've not enough blood left between us to make it a passionate tango on the deck a?

Love you D x

@Izzie,
We haven't gotten it yet Sad - But I am sure it will be here soon. The boys are all fine. They have just about checked out of school though...they only have 5 weeks left so they are pretty much done. Hopefully I can keep getting them to focus until it really is over. Smile

I am so much better. Still have allergy issues but I think my allergy meds are actually working now. I think. But of course - I only have problems when I am sitting at the ballpark. Then I start sneezing like crazy.

The Prof. LOVES his job. He is happy. Now - if things will just quit breaking, that would be great. I am glad he is happy though. It is about time he had some relief from the stress of that last job. We just found out that that whole dept. got laid off...it was only a matter of time. We saw that. Thank you for asking!

Well..just know my thoughts are with R. I hope he continues to do well. And that they give you some reassurance of support. You gotta do what you gotta do hun - pester the life out of them! Wink

I am sure Sboy is having a blast at Tulips. Take care of yourself and enjoy yourself the rest of the week. Do pop in when you can.

I do love you too...am blessed by you!
