@Letty,
thanku lovelies!

yep ((((jw))))... the UK is really struggling as a whole! We are just not equipped to deal with this sort of snowfall and cold temps. Scotland is gonna hit a low of minus 20. Well, I can't even imagine that sort of cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Over 7000 schools are shut and ... well, no-one is really going very far.

My boiler has been running 24/7 (well, it stopped once but I think in one of my midnight hazes I must have changed the programme - incorrectly - I can't remember!!!!!! Shocked

Anyhoooooooooooooooo - talking of frozen bits... if my kitchen sink won't drain away, d'ye reckon my outside pipe is frozen? Methinks it might be - but it's too cold and dark to go poking around outside so...

The other sinks and baths all appear to be fine - it's just the kitchen sink. I put some hot water down and it very, very slowly drained away. Best not run the dishwasher tonight, I reckon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or the washing machine - that's in the garage and it's ffffffffreeezing out there.

hmmm... LettyBettyLettyLove - not sure about the raw milk. I just read up on it and ... will stick to the "where does milk come from?" ... "Tesco" ... as my BigBoy said when he was a littlun, for the time being. Mind you - if we can't get milk in a bottle in the next couple days, I may just have to talk to the neighbours. Very Happy

Hope your temps warm up soon there (((((((Letty))))))))

So glad you've got your laptop. Mind you - be careful of the heat they produce... d'ye remember that one I had that burned my legs. Will be much easier for you - you can sit and type to your heart's delight now a?

Have you heard from MaMaVerby - hmmm - little bit worried about her - haven't seen her on msn either - might give a call tomorrow.

How are our babies doing in the heat - hope you're watering them nicely and giving them lots of TLC. Alpaca poop still working? Razz

@Izzie,
You had to much snow in your eyes, hence you missed me Izzie.

Have not heard from verbivore since she last posted here, she sounded pretty sparkling then .

Babies doing fine in the heat they love it, giving them TLC as we speak, a good hosing down. About to go to my newphew's property to collect another bag of Alpaca droppings, easy to collect as they always use the same spot. Laughing

Looked for Tulip's photos on facebook but ofcourse this dill can't find them, need another hint annis. Smile

Yeah, it does look wonderful there, doesn't it!

Ahhhhhhhh... the kids are both so blonde and gorgeous - S-daughter is going to be breaking hearts! She's so tall and slim - like her Mom. F-boy is very tall too - it's like little and large when he and S-boy are together. Good good kids. Great pics.

Minus seventeen point six ( -18deg C) in Cheshire last night, and that's parky. Ice on the inside of the windows this morning.

But are we downhearted?

Went into snowy Manchester on the train yesterday, and in a park in Levenshulme, the kids had been building a ....giant phallus with ancillary equipment, pretty accurate anatomically.

A pretty impressive effort, it was about six feet high. Pointing upwards, of course.

A symbol of the indomitable spirit of mankind, throwing back the challenge of a pitiless onslaught by nature?
Or some rude boys 'aving a laff?
You choose.

@McTag,
Shocked

MAN - POMcT - now that's what you call BIG snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How I would love to have my camera up there - that tree at the back in your first picture is simply stunning - I love it - you just need to go thru the back of the wardrobe and you'd be in Narnia <pass the faux fur coat and a FiB knitted scarf>.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr cold for you - I don't like that much for you. Hope you're keeping the heating running full time. How is FIL coping with the cold? Do take very good care McT - warm hugs to you and FiB. xx

Bazza - did you make it to work?????????????? Hope you and the Fredster are alright. x

Little fella has just been down to the village shop and we have milk and bread. Gonna freeze 4pints of milk coz we're not sure when there's going to be an'udder delivery. Razz Roads had turned slushy here by yesterday afternoon and we had thawed a little - but have frozen solid overnight and the temps are staying low today - sky is blue and the sun is shining - very lovely - beautiful - just chilly. Little more snow due, but nothing too serious I don't reckon - well, not compared to the rest of the country. Our main problems are the ice with big hills, tiny rural roads and simply the lack of grit/salt available - or not as the case may be.

We have plenty of personal grit, "us folk doon y'ere in Deb'n..." - just not of the salting variety! Wink

Not that I could move my car even if the roads were gritted - it's a silver blue ice block <note to self, go turn engine over>.

Need to go and investigate the outside kitchen pipes and see what's going on out there... ack..hands are rubbish at the moment - sore sore sore.

Wishing the crew a great day - everyone keep safe.

((((Blue)))) - miss you - hoping you will jump aboard soon - hugs to you xox

Beautiful photos McTag, glad I can see it from a distance.

Happy that the brace little fella got you bread and milk Izzie, things are looking pretty bleak up your way. Don't venture out to far will you.

Still mucking around with my laptop, just can't get my router/modem to accept the change, must be doing something wrong somewhere. Smile

@Dutchy,
Hey Dutchy - we need a little bit of your sunshine over here right now - Snowed in again today and its still falling - nice and warm inside and having a day working from home as it is too dangerous to go out in the car - Hubby was brave and made it to work, but hey - I am such a girl and don't 'do' slipping and sliding in the car!
Iz - Glad to know you have got some milk for your cuppas - that's all we need a?
Happy New Year to you all - Iz and I had the best time - lots of new girl clothes - even a leather skirt for me - how cool is that!
Just having a peaceful day - me and my laptop - how nice after the manic Xmas period.

Bazza - shame you could not make it over for New year - we will have to meet up soon in London -

McT - You were so near - we should have tried to meet up - As Izzie said - we did look out for you in Chelmsford when we were on our shopping spree!

Mis - Hope you are OK girlie and that the boys are OK - and that hubbys job is going well - big hugs Mis ((()))

Love to the rest of the crew - Annis - Happy new year to you and yours

Big hugs

It's Snowing! It's Snowing! AND IT'S STICKING! WOOHOO!
The boys are beside themselves. As am I. The dogs too.
The Prof. is still at work, but apparently they are thinking it is going to turn to rain and be icy - so they are letting them come home in about an hour.
So exciting!

Stay warm y'all! We are doing great FQ! ((FQ))
Going to play - will try to post some pics later...

@mismi,
Razz Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy VERY HAPPY FOR YOU MIS!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you can play for a while and enjoy the snowflakes.

... oooooooooooooof - whatta day! I am shattered. Have been working all day and my ears are burned out - been on the phone for hours sorting out school stuff with parents - still got more to do.

The TV just blew up - well, it didn't go BANG - it just died with a "blech" moment... oh deary me! It's been on the blink for a very long time - as FQ's girls would say "sheesh, do you still have that old thing!!!" Well, not any more - it's given up. Dagnabbit! It really is a haunted fish tank now, with no ghosts.

My car is not too happy either - it took 5 attempts to start it... going to go and try and start it again - not that I'm going anywhere - but... fingers crossed it will start.

I'm just exhausted this evening.

Little fella has had some friends over which is really nice - they went on a house crawl and spent time at each other's houses - he's made some new friends too. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh - it's so lovely, the little girls (all who are the same age but bigger than him) just cuddle him all the time - they love S-boy! Sweet little things, they are. They were all giggly and the boys were all puffy chested.

Ha - S-boy made me laugh last nite - there was something on the news - the reporter said "such and such erected the tower"... at which point S-boy burst into fits of giggles at the word "erected" Shocked - he said "ooooooooh, that man said the "e" word" - ha, it's still making me laugh now just thinking about it. Bless. Innocence is rapidly disappearing as we start our journey into teenagerhood. R-boy wasn't with me as a teenager, not really - so this is all a bit new to me. I think it's going to start to get a little more...errrrr... educational over the next few years. Questions - he's always asking questions - about anything and everything - takes after his Mom I guess - it's just terrible when I don't know the answers!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyhooooooo - had a few peaceful moments down by the river with my camera - 10 at the most - it was soooooooo cold - not sure if the pics turned out but will have a look after I'm done with work. Beautiful it was, the mist was rising off the river.

Gosh..........t.i.r.e.d. and so need a hug.

FQsis - hope bro made it back home safely and that you have another good day tomorrow - will the girls be able to get home for the weekend?

ahhhhh JOE<you.inspire.me> NATION ....... oh how lovely to see you here on the deck darlin'. (((((((((((((J))))))))))))) - love ya hun. x Iz<teach.me.a.recipe.>zie Wink Stay warm J.

BEAgle - how you doing today? Did you get your connection going? ahhhhh... you're gonna be so happy sitting there doing you puzzles online - so pleased for you. How's M&K in PL? Are all the fires under control now? Love to MrsB and big hugs Bosun.

Bazza - where'd you do? You been able to work?

Didn't get the opporunity to phone MaMaVerby today - but... I'm NOT working tomorrow (well, maybe just a little if needs be) so will give a call then. hmmmmmmmmmm... fretting a little.

Not fretting for Blue - nope, not one bit, not even a teeny bit, maybe just a tiny bit Wink - misssssssssssssss you!

MISSY - pics Dixie.... I wish for pics of smiling boyz faces Very Happy

oooh ohohohhoh... I just spoke with my Godmother - she's 97 and coping remarkably well in the cold. She hasn't been outside in days but has people popping in and checking on her which is great to know. Bless her. Very Happy

OK... must go turn the car over, finish work and .... make a cuppa...

Laterzzzzzzzz

oh - I thought you were supposed to start cars up every once in a while during the cold. It hadn't been started since....errr............ Sunday. Really wasn't happy at all!!!!!!!!!! I didn't think it was going to start - but it did eventually - it's still covered in snow and ice.

Ha - I will be happier when I get outside more. I love the snow and I'm just desperate to get out and take photos - but it's so freeeezing for me - can't stay out too long at all without my body whinging Rolling Eyes

@Izzie,
not so much on the starting thing.

most of the internal damage that leads to eventual engine failure occurs during cold starts.

are you letting it get all the way warm now, I hope?

gonna have to watch them big girls huggin' on the little erector, methinks...

havin' a cuppa with my oatmeal. join me now that you got milk?

@Rockhead,
will join you with a cuppa...

the car sounded like it had a duffed battery... ya know, it just kinda turned over and stopped... it started on the 5th attempt after growling a bit. Sounded dreadful tho. I didn't leave it running - well, about 30 seconds was all - I just thought that if I started it, it would charge the battery a bit (wrong a?). The mist is right down next to the river so the car is very icy - dunno if that makes a difference with anything. So, I guess I shouldn't try starting it again then?
