Snow tyres (or chains), that's the ticket.

My pal in Germany has to fit snow tyres, by law I think, every winter.

Good idea. Maybe with all this warming, we'll have to start doing the same thing here.

@Barry The Mod,
Nahhhhhhhh nahhhhh nahhhhhh Baz... no worries - I can deal with Devon, my parents and BigBoy. I just need not to be emotional and not let my feelings get hurt. I can't change any of them or the situation or the past, I can only change me and I'm moving forward. I miss my son terribly, that never changes but I know nothing that I say to any of them is going to make them think of how I feel . I'm unimportant in the bigger picture tho I know they all love 'odd' me.

(shhhhhh please)

2010 will be a great year - I will make it so Very Happy

edit: time waits for no-one... how very true. Time to move on... maybe away.

@Barry The Mod,
Perfect song in many ways, barry.

G'morning crew!

Yesterday's whirlwind continues into today. I start my new gig today and need to be up and out by 8:00. First time I've left the house to go to work other than an occasional off-site meeting in nearly 10 years. Gonna be strange for a bit, I imagine. It's part-time and temporary but it will be good to add some structure into my life. I'll be home mid-afternoon and then turn my attentions to taking care of business as usual. We'll see if I start feeling overwhelmed. I don't think I will but....

Iz, enjoy your snow day. Love you bunches.

Hoping Tuesday is kind to the rest of the crew.

Hey all, how's the crew? Hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year. We did but I think the snow has followed us and that icy chill! WE HAVE snow and ice and it is cold!!

Our log cabin in Finland was lovely and warm with open fires and under floor heating, oh and the fabulous Sauna! We loved it and saw wild Reindeer and huskies and went sledging, sleighing, snowball fights and built snowmen and snow dens and castles, I drove a snow mobile, I want one! So much fun and stuff! Didn't think about Christmas at all! My pics are on facebook if anyone wants to see them!

Well am warming myself with wine and a chilli now! Hope you all keep safe and warm XXX

@annis,
Hi annis, nice to see you, welcome back. Sounds you had a great holiday in Finland and kept yourself busy. I saw about the snow, ice and cold on the television news whilst I was sitting outside in the sun with only my shorts on!

JPB wishing you good luck in your new job, with your determination you'll cope, you won't know yourself.

Izzie keep warm and also keep off them icy roads, entertain S-boy at home if he can't make it to school. You've got the cold and we're about to be struck by another heatwave!

Taking Mrs. B shopping shortly, those after Christmas sales seems to last forever, I'm sure she's spotted another bargain somewhere. Smile

@Dutchy,
Hi Dutchy

oh for some heatwave, just make sure you drink plenty Drunk water that is to keep rehydrated!

Yes we had a great time, could do with the snow mobile here now! Or a sledge.
I had the dogs groomed today so had to put coats on them when they came out as they felt cold!

You take care X

@annis,
Hey Crew

Tulip - loved the pics - saw them yesterday - beautiful. Love F-boys rosy cheeks Very Happy School's out right? Please don't drive... not that I think you'll be able to in the morning - don't think any of us will be going anywhere, anytime soon Razz

We have closed our school now... long story... in short.. I said I wouldn't attempt the drive in this morning, snow was heavy, lots of ice - staff had a training day and some went who were able to get there - snow came - BIG SNOW - staff all stranded - (we are very high on a hill in the middle of nowhere) - local farmers tractors (our Chair of Governors and family) had to come out and rescue - and 4WD had to take other staff home - now - all the cars are still at the school gathering snow and ice - and we reckon the school will be closed for the rest of the week.

Anyhoooooooooooooooooo...

BEAgle - keep cool hun - I have some pics but ... will upload when I feel able to. Love you D. Love to MrsBEAgle. x

We are completely white - around minus 5 - and the snow's coming in later tonite! The UK is coming to a standstill - literally.

POMcT - thinking about you - know up your way is hit very hard and on emergency alert according to the news Shocked Take very good care of you and FiB. x

Morning Izzie and Annis, I feel for you both with all that snow and ice. Wanted to look at your pictures on Facebook Tulip but can't find them, perhaps you could PM me with the name you use and I will search for them. Have no fear girls I'll drink plenty of 'water' in this heat. Smile

@Dutchy,
HI! Yep...cold. SO COLD. We have an ice river at the bottom of my driveway. The boys have been ice skating...pretty sure they have bruised bottoms as well. I saw two of them land on those little keisters.

The only thing that would make all this cold worth it would be to have SNOW. Two days for snow days...please. Thursday and Friday. PLEASE.

Good...stay hydrated Dutchy - rub it in. Would love to be in the heat right now. My thoughts are thinking how lovely the beach in May is. I long for it right now...but really - I want to wait at least until after Thursday and Friday - we might get SNOW! K...letting it go.

Tulip! It sounds amazing. So glad you got to go and enjoy your holiday up there. How about the Northern Lights? Did you see?

Izzie - stay warm. And stay in. Sounds scary. Actually it sounds wonderful. I hope your heater is working now....is it? You have wood?

McT and Barry - what is a bacon butty?

Anyway...I must go read with G-baby.

hugs to all!

IT'S ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL

WE'VE GOT A WINTER WONDERLAND

OH MY!

It's just........ incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Utterly incredible.

I must go and take some pics - but.... errrr.... it's a wee bit too dark at the moment (yeah, I know, I need to wait for it to get a bit lighter Razz)

I think it is raining ice at the moment - it's not rain and it's not snow - it looks like ...ice!

Only 2 inches of snow here in London (thank God) but in the north and south west there's been a fall of up to 10 inches and,of course,the country is grinding to a halt again.Looking forward to the pics Captain but don't stay out too long.You'll come back with rosy-red cheeks and a drippy nose.
Mismi,a bacon butty is also known as a bacon sarnie.Bread,real butter (none of that healthy yellow spread stuff),fried bacon ( NOT grilled),with a choice of sauces-tomato ketchup or spicy brown....

@Rockhead,
OH YES WE ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!

<little fella is still asleep... I wanna go poke him and wake him up - HA> Razz

I've been out taking pics - but it's still snowing quite heavily and its fffff f ffff f f f fffreeeezing - it's just so super stunning.

I know we're going to run out of milk and bread... hmmmmmmmm.... but I've food in the freezer so that should keep up going.

It's truly special out there (yeah yeah, it's just a bit of snow - but what a transformation).

It's peaceful out there - just white and totally peaceful - I want to go walking. The snow is swirling around in the wind - we probably have hmmmmmmmmmm only around few inches I would guess - you know, not heaps like up country - but just for a moment - it's sooooooooooooooooo quiet and I LOVE IT.

No cars, no people, just snow.

Little fella will be beside himself when he sees it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very Happy

<my hands and feet are complaining - terribly swollen - I desperately want to go walking>

<sneaks up to S-boys bedroom door and makes a clattering sound.... oh... what.. I'm so sorry... did I waken you.... oooooooooooooh look at the snow Razz> ho ho ho!

BAZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA - I love the snow! <need milk tho... hmmmmm....no milk.... no tea..... eeeeek>
