@Rockhead,
Good Morning Dahhhhhhhhhhling Crew

So very sorry - I'm unable to get on A2K at the moment but will be back when I can. Everything is very good with FQSis and all the family - we've had the best few days - been girlie, pink and fluffy and have spent much time laughing and just being sisters - we've been shopping - ha! Girl clothes.

I don't want to return home at the moment and am not sure when I will be driving back yet. Will be back soon lovelies - missing you all madly and lovin' y'all. I really do.

FQ sends her love to the crew too.

@Rockhead,
Yeah....at a little bit of Bambi last night. So sorry. But let's just say, when your friend who is a hunter calls and asks you if you want 20lbs. of venison - you don't turn it down. He was good. Razz Shame on you for trying to make me feel bad.

@Izzie,
Good to see you Iz! Glad you are having a good time with FQ. I am glad you are staying. Think it is very good for you to be there! Wink ((Izzie))

Aw Dutchy - no deer eh? Well - to be sure I used to turn my nose up at it as well. I am not quite sure why I didn't like it before. I think it was the idea that it WAS like Bambi or something. But what I had last night tasted just like beef to me. Of course necessity it the mother of changing your mind. Or something like that. Wink

Hugs y'all

Wanted to wish you guys a Happy New Year. (Better late than never.) Looks like the ship is quiet. I'm glad you're having a good time Izz!

I think I mentioned that I have a friend living with me right now. Well, we are taking turns making each other sick. I had Strep throat and am still on antibiotics. She had a cold. Now I have the cold and she has the Strep. Grrrrrr!!! Back to campus tomorrow and am sooooo not feelin' it. Sad I totally have no brain right now. Sleeping is hard -- between stuffed up nose and congested chest. Cough, cough, cough at night. (Deep, nasty sounding cough.) I have threatened to seperate us till we both get healthy again. One of us needs to go to a hotel!

It was 8 below zero with the chill factor this morning. My dogs are driving me insane. It's too cold for them to be sniffing for 10 minutes before they find the perfect spot to tinkle on.

Back to the sofa with my blankie and the remote-- and football. I have the furnace set at 75 and a fire in the fireplace and we're both still freezing. I know -- bitch, bitch, bitch! Drunk

Happy 2010 Yabber-Liner

PS- Gosh, I just read what I wrote--such a complainer!!!! Embarrassed

PSS - Dutchy, I saw on the news a couple weeks ago(?) where you had the nasty fires again. I hope that is all past you now!

Truly though, I wish you all the very best that life has to offer in the new year.

Peace out!
xo

@JustBrooke,
Good morning crew, starting a new week, really don't know what day it is with all the holidays and festivities. Need to get some order in the place.

Hi mismi, you convinced me, will try some of your cooking next time, I think not liking venison is all in the mind, I'll just have to get over that.

Lovely to see the beautiful Brooke on deck hence in a somewhat sickly state, keep warm and take your medicine. If you can't get warm, join me downunder, it's a nice day here, around 95 degrees, bring your bikini as I'm shortly heading for the beach. All the very best with your studies, and yes fires on control. ((((Happy New Year Brooke))))

@Dutchy,
Some people don't like it dear Dutchy. You should taste is once - just to see. I am huge proponent of giving it a whirl first before making a decision. ; )
Hope you have a good day.

Sheesh...one of those days. It just was.

@verbivore,
Verbivore you haven't heard my New Year's resolution yet, eveything in moderation, and that includes food. Wink You stick to losing that soft belly of yours and changing nappies, that is your first priority, and don't worry about Brooke, I'll take care of her as well. Laughing Hope your little bloke is doing well.

@Dutchy,
GOOD MORNING CREW

BEAUTIFUL STUNNING DAY WITH BLUE SKIES - it's freeeeeeeeeeeeezing here!

So good to see you all and to hear all your yabberings Very Happy

I know, I've been a little quiet of late and for that I apologise. Those of you who needed to know why, do - so, now, I'm back when I can be and if I wanna smile, I will.

So, MaMaVerby - oooooooooooooh - we need Bethie here to give us advice on belly dancing, don't we? It's terribly difficult to lose the soft tummy (so very nicely described by our BEAgle - ha!) I hate my tummy with a vengeance - it has so many scars and looks more like a hot cross bun - soft, yes, good word, beats the other words!

Now listen, don't worrry yourself abut these things at the moment - do the exercises you need to which they advise you of after a C-section - but quite honestly, for the moment - try not to concern yourself with that. Carry on b-feeding, drink plenty of water and try not to sit for too long - walk if you, take walks alone if you can. Are the in-laws still there or do you have peace in the house now? Email me if wanna Ind - Ima here girllie Very Happy

(huffs and puffs, flat stomach, will never have a flat stomach- harumph, liking the sound of soft tummy Razz> FQsis and I do laugh about our tummies - well, maybe not laugh, they are the cause of hysterical guffaws in the family and much lying on the kitchen floor and comparison of whose is worse - makes us giggle).

BABBBBBBBBLING - OH get better soon - have missed you girlie - so sorry you are poorly - you know, that always happens when you finally 'stop' and then everything else catches up on you. So sorry - wishing you better and better... complain as much as you wish to - I think most of us have had some sort of ack over the last few weeks. FQ and the entire family (that would be around 10 of them had the 'ole D&V over Crimbo - she bleached the house a million times before we arrived) but they were all horribly ill and the baby we had up there for new year, she got ill the following day (tho that was something different we think) - NASTY NASTY NASTY. FQ loved that she lost 5lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shocked Always a positive Very Happy

oh............................. oof - gotta go - my boss just phoned and I need to get some stuff done before returning to work tomorrow (dagnabbit)

((((((((((((mis, BEAgle, Baz, BLUE (miss you), Stormy, jw, Boida, Alex, RH, POMcT, JPB, Tsar et all the crew.....)))))))))))) I'll be back Razz

lovin y'all x

@Izzie,
((( Iz )))

Good to see you on board, Iz. I'm glad you and FQ had such a great time. Real life calling here too. I've got about 20 things on my plate today and.... well.... I hope to accomplish at least 2 of them.

Miss K begins her journey home today with an overnight stop in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh? Why Pittsburgh you might ask? HellifIknow. It's not exactly on the way, they're staying in a dive, but "it's our adventure, Mom". Ok -- butting out.

Happy Monday (or Monday night, as the case may be) to the rest of the crew. Verbi -- these thing take time but it'll happen. Your body is busy focusing on other things right now. The only tip I can give you while your nursing is to watch your sugar intake. Eating sweets tends to pack it on in the middle.

Missy -- I'll race you to the starting line. Ready, set, .... I wonder what else is happening on the forum?

@JPB,
That made me laugh fellow mistress of procrastination. Lovely that was.

Oh Verby...the tum tum. I had a C-section with the twins. If you are nursing just eat healthy foods and that stuff will come off on it's own. For whatever reason nursing seems to cause those muscles to go into place faster. I didn't even exercise with the twins and I lost it...but it takes time...those muscles have been cut so don't be in too big a hurry...they need time to heal. You are young too...that is always a big help...young bodies just seem to go back into place easier! I know changing those diapers and taking care of all you have to goes quickly. And I know you have heard me say too many times. Just try to take a deep breath and do what you have to...but don't sweat the small stuff...even though that is so cliche'...it's true. Enjoy that baby. He will grow up so fast! And they are SO sweet when they are babies....less so as they get older. Still sweet....just a little more salty...and smart mouthy. Wink((Verby)) good to see you girl!

The van is back. My Daddy came up and fixed it yesterday. He has changed the battery before and it was quick as could be. And I got to hug my Momma and Daddy...and feed them and take care of THEM for a few hours anyway.
I was so glad.

We have one more day off of school. And it is FREEZING here too. 19 degrees outside. The dogs don't even want to go out to pee. Can't blame them - AT ALL.

Stay warm everybody. Hope it was a good day - or will be a good day!

HA! Ok, now it's my turn to laugh. Well put -- and then they're out on their own (sorta, kinda, with occasional requests for "help"). Life's a journey. Yours and theirs. Enjoy each day as it happens. Time only moves in one direction.

Speaking of the year of decision...

I tend to do big life changes on the "4"s. Not by intent. It just works out that way. I don't remember what I did when I was 4 years old, but I imagine there was a major transition of one kind or another.

At 14 -- I was a hippie and had a year like no other
At 24 -- I decided I was unhappy with my life choices and decided to go back to school
At 34 -- I became a mother for the first time and walked away from a career that I'd spent 15 years building. I eventually went back to it, working from home as a consultant but I went from a corporate ladder climber to a stay-at-home mom.
At 44 -- I took on what this family still calls the Project From Hell! I never knew there were 26 hours in a day and 8 days in a week, but that's how many I worked during that year. It took it's toll on all of us.
I turn 54 this year and begin another phase. M is in her last year of HS and will leave for college in the fall. The year of decision indeed.

It's not polite to make me think when I'm trying to flip 20 different flapjacks all at once.

I have officially completed one pancake -- granted it was due by "first thing" this morning but 9:45 isn't so far off. Looking at my list of to-dos that are actually due today trying to see which one can get finished the fastest. I think I've got it.

Ready, set, hasta!
