@mismi,
HA! A little redneckishness is a good thing, mis.

In my former life I followed NASCAR (and all other kinds of racing) for years. Short-track NASCAR racing is a blast to watch -- mostly because the drivers are just starting out and can't drive in a crowd for beans. No pole leaders there -- the fastest qualifiers have to start at the back of the pack and work they're way up through the field. Very exciting stuff!

Have a great day and Happy New Year to you and your family.

@JPB,
JPB & mismi, there's nothing wrong with leaving the tree and decorations up a little longer. Mine will be up for another week! I like to stretch the season Smile

@Stormwatch,
Hiya Stormy!

Mine will probably stay up for another week too. I'll talk about taking it down every day between now and then but I somehow doubt I'll get around to making it a priority. That's pretty much how I live my life -- talk about what I need to do then procrastinate until it's what I have to do.

Hope you're having a good holiday.

@Stormwatch,
Morning crew, beautiful Saturday morning here, I'm about to hit the trail and spend my birthday and x-mas monies, getting myself a new laptop. Any tips before I go?

Whilst I'm away Mrs.B will take the Christmas decorations down, she's quicker than some of you girls. Smile

Wonder what our Izzie is upto, enjoying a Bailey's?

@JPB,
The pack is back from the beach. It's snowing, wonderful light fluffy snow. Just the kind we like best.

The New Year's greeters were promenading up and down the Boardwalk. The New Year's runners were doing their thing - all nice and red in the face.

BaileyDog enjoyed the off-leash adventure he and I had (while Set and Miss Cleopatra waited on a bench on the boardwalk), though he got tired on the way home and jumped onto my shoulder for part of the walk back to the car. He's the dog who thinks he's a parrot.

Everyone else here is snoozing. I can hear the rounds of deep breathing.

I hope everyone had a wonderful evening, morning and afternoon - and that the year is off to a good start.

Cheers to the Cap'n and crew!

@ehBeth,
sounds nice, ehbeth. I'm debating between a snooze and some tea. I'm going to start with the tea, then possibly follow it with a snooze.

Happy New Year to you and Set.

@Dutchy,
Enjoy your Saturday, Dutchy. No pointers on your purchase, I'm afraid.

Maybe Mrs B would like to come to Chicago to work on my decorations when she's done with yours.

Alienware Area-51 m15x

Flashy colors and custom paint jobs, once the sole domain of high-end gaming desktops, have been steadily creeping into notebook design for years. The Alienware Area-51 m15x takes this trend and puts a more futuristic and elegant spin on things, with its clean look and color-shifting LEDs. The notebook's smart appearance is accompanied by the best mobile performance and hardware money can buy. Even better, it's all squeezed into a relatively light (for a high-octane gaming laptop) 7.8-pound chassis, making it a delightful system for even the most demanding fraggers on the go. For all this, it easily earns our Editors' Choice.

@tsarstepan,
Thanks tsarstepan, love to have that one, but I'm afraid it is way out of my price range. Will be looking at a Compaq Presario CQ60-416AU which are on special this week. I'm in no hurry and can shop around for the best deal, haggling is the name of the game downunder. Smile

JPB Mrs.B would love a trip to Chicago without me. Smile

@Izzie,
Bless your sweet heart I am glad you are so happy. Love that you are with those that love you and are having such a wonderful time. Makes my heart happy.

I went and ate with my in laws...they are such precious people. How thankful I am for them! The kids were so tired from being up late last night they went down early tonight... it's been nice.

JPB...that made me laugh...I bet that was fun to watch. My boys are all about Monster Trucks and anything that drives fast. Such boys! Yeah...I have a feeling my tree will be up quite a bit longer. I may find the gumption to get it down sooner...but I am not too worried about it. Glad to know I am in such good company with you and Stormy!

Beth - the snow sounds lovely! How awesome is that? The pup on your shoulder reminds me of my kitty. He loved sitting on my shoulder too. I still have moments of missing him. I keep thinking I see him during the day. I was just so used to him hovering. Anyway..won't stay long there. Happy New Year to you and sweet, crotchety Set - He makes me smile...just like you do.

Dutchy...I hope that you and Mrs. B get to make it over here one day. Wouldn't that be a grand thing? To get you and Izzie across the pond at the same time? Wow.

Wandel...you know we love you. Pretty cool that thread. Wink When folks look in the dictionary for the word gracious - it has a picture of you.

Okay - I know - I am a bit chatty - seem to be a bit hyper today for some strange reason...so I will take a deep breath and back away from the computer.

Hugs to you all...Happy New Year to each and every one of the Yabber Crew.

@mismi,
Holy Cow...we are a busy bunch today...Nobody has posted since I was here last nite!

Actually, I have been dealing with a stupid van that's battery went dead. The battery is put in there and it's like trying to get into dadgum Fort Knox trying to get it out. I hate cars. I guess we are going to have to have it towed to the place. Makes me so mad.

Anyway. I am about to go play a game of Battle Ship - just wanted to stick my head in and say hello to all the sweet peeps here.

hugs to all,
mis

@mismi,
Good morning mismi and crew. Busy days downunder this weekend with family visits etc. Izzie must be busy too or having to many Baileys, haven't sighted her either. Smile Have a feeling she could show up sooner than later. Good luck in sinking that battleship sunshine.

@Rockhead,
HA HA HA! You would be very frustrated dear friend! Smile You are so sweet to offer though. I posted and logged off because I didn't think anyone was around! A friend of ours is going to help the Prof. get it done tomorrow. I have totally put that frustrating episode OUT of my mind. Eeesh. Truly - thank you!

Hey Dutchy - I got beat. He sunk every single last one of my battle ships.

I got a freezer full of venison. I called my neighbor to see if she wanted any...she asked her husband (who is is Universtiy of Alabama fan) if he wanted any. He asked, "What is venison?". I told her to tell him I thought all Alabama fans knew what venison was. (rednecks hunt...all Alabama fans are rednecks Wink ) She and I both went to Auburn - so we really thought that was funny. Yeah - okay - obviously I think I am a lot funnier than I am...but it was a good effort. Razz

Hugs y'all...I'm cooking venison for supper.

@mismi,
Here we are nearly 8 hours later and still no Captain sighted, wondering what she and FQ are up to? I'm a little worried. Smile

Venison doesn't turn me on mismi so I'll give supper a miss.

With another hot week predicted, it will be cold salads and more cold salads downunder.

Cheers all.
