Hello Yabberers!
Just thought I'd pop in to share the most bizarre experience I had yesterday which was pretty amusing:
I was at work walking from one of my piano pupil's houses to the next, and passed an old lady on the pavement walking with a stick. As I went to walk round her, she suddenly lifted the stick up and attempted to crack it over my head! I had to run into the road to avoid being hit by the stick, and as I did she started screaming at me ''get away from me, get away from me! I don't like the look of you!'
It was pretty weird.... especially since I just look like an inoffensive smartly dressed young woman... anyway perhaps she was senile or something, bless her. But out of ALL the people to get attacked by whilst living in London, I certainly did not expect it to be a little old lady!

Have a good day dear JPB. I have to work. Which is a good thing. Smile

I have been thinking about Mamaverb and Verbaby all morning. Praying he is getting stronger. I cannot WAIT to hear she has gotten to hold that sweet boy and kiss him for the first time.

@mismi,
Hey Crew

Nice clean ship here, food in galley, scrubbed decks and ... tight (f) rigging Wink Whatta crew. Thanku.

The sky is deep blue today, feel like I can reach out and touch it as the clouds roll by.

I am turning the corner too " am able to drive the little fella to school but seem to worsen as the day goes on " my voice is a little stronger and I’m not coughing quite so much, head is still sore but not in a vice, like it was. The antibiotics appear to be working <please work more quickly> so I need to try and regain some strength, mentally and physically, and put all the things I can’t deal with to the side, and just work on getting better...so, oh k ... head up, sees horizon, positive thoughts.

Bazza " thanku for phoning " hey, not too many tears this time a? Rolling Eyes Hope you don’t have to work the weekend.

Tulip " you are brilliant " well done in your mocks, especially since you haven’t even had any tutoring and with the kids being so poorly. You will get distinction, just you wait and see. Do be very proud of yourself " we are.

TC " Hoping you will stop coughing too <passes benylin chesty cough potion with a dob of whiskey> and feel better soon. Glad you are able to go to work.

BEAgle " so pleased you are getting rain and the heat has turned down. The North of England and parts of Ireland have just had a foot of rain dropped on them " flooding, roads and bridges washed away, loss of life. Horrendous. We're due for more rain tomorrow lunchtime.

The story of the twins is wonderful " thanku for that " truly amazing what the doctors can do.

Alex " Thanksgiving feast... it will be the best, I know it. Loved your massage story " I’m sure she would have loved a coffee!

Missy " ahh... go grab a massage when you can girlie " I’m sure it would do you the world of good. Tulip is verra, verra good " when I'm better I’m hoping she will bring her table across. My ribs and tummy muscles hurt from constant coughing so might have to leave it another week or so. Have a good day at work hun.

Rock " I just watched the rats in the galley... Chez Iz had another tiny critter come play hide and seek with Murphy " fortunately managed to get the furry friend before the kitty had dinner...

Boida " so glad you had cake on your boithday " thinking of you and wishing the fuzzies to clear.

FQsis " good that tickets are booked to SA. She will be so happy you are going to be there for her. Will talk to you over the weekend if I can.

McT " hope Bro-In-Law arrived safely. How is it up your way? I’ve been seeing the floods on the news " just horrendous for those folk who have lost everything. The emergency services have been incredible " feeling very sad about the policeman who was missing. Terribly sad.

Jw " checked out the link for Katrina’s new programme " I wonder when it will arrive in the UK " always up for Scott Bakula " it looks a great series and I’m sure it will be a big hit " she should be very proud to be part of it.

Letty " so sorry for not getting over to WA2K " haven’t been able to look at/read the computer or listen to anything " too much head hurt " you have been in my thoughts and I know that things cannot be easy " you’re an incredible lady. Thank you.

JPB " yessir, I like it too... International Log " Happy Happy Joy Joy. I’m floating now. One day. Then the next. Then the next... bit like Tulip’s Donovan mountain song. Thank you JPB, ya know.

PQ " oh, bless that little ‘ole lady Shocked dear oh dear. Glad you managed to get out the way!

I have been trying to call MaMaVerby " a few times someone has answered (maybe the inlaws) but I can’t make myself understood " I did manage to get hold of her just now but we got cut off. Will keep trying and let you know as soon as I speak to her.

Blue - miss you, miss you xox x

Hope all crew, near and far, keep safe and well. Always in my thoughts.

Hugs to all. Love to all. xxxx

@Izzie,
Thanks for the detailed report, Izzie! We were worried about you. A flu is always a horrible thing. Currently the news about H1N1 is scary. I am still praying for verbivore and her family.

@Izzie,
Hey, hey!!! Good to see you up and about for a bit, miz iz. Now --- back to bed you go. Wink

I know three furry boys here who would love to meet your friend. We've already rescued one vole and ... er.... disposed of another one. Your guy is a cutie!!!

I just read a news article on the flooding in the north, Iz. Horrible...

Quote:
Picturesque town 'devastated'
Cockermouth, a market town 330 miles northwest of London, lies at the junction of the Cocker and Derwent rivers and is known for being the birthplace of poet William Wordsworth.

"It has devastated the town," said Michael Dunn, manager of the Bitter End pub. "There is a lot of properties in Main Street, private shops, that have had their windows smashed in by the force of the water and by debris in the water. There were cars floating down the street. It will be a long time before Cockermouth recovers from this."
more, including video

Happy Friday to all the crew. Keep your heads away from swinging canes, all.

The weekend officially begins in 6 hours here. I'm resting up for the event Smile

@Izzie,
Hang in there Izzie, a few more days and you'll be on top of this nasty illness, I just know it. Can't keep a good girl down. Good night dear Captain.

Busy day ahead! Funeral this afternoon, Wedding tonight, all on one day, can you believe that? Wedding party was arranged a long time ago, funeral only popped up a couple of days ago.

The cool change with rain has moved in and it is good to be alive, just a comfortable day of 25 degrees. The bush fires are under control and no casualties have been reported.

Wishing you all a great weekend.

@Izzie,

What are these? Voles? Moles? Shrews? Blues?

Everything super-cool and quite dry here, went to Manchester's Christmas Market this evening with our visitor, had a roast pork barm with apple sauce and later we had fish & chips.

Xmas Market terrific, pork sandwich likewise, fish supper awesome.

@McTag,
(((BEAgle))) hoping the wedding was fab and you danced your sox off. x

(((Mis))) love you girlie x

(((McT))) - voles, mice and shrews...now the taming of... Wink Christmas market sounds wonderful - fish supper mmm mmm good x

Battening down the hatches here - gonna be a wild wet and windy few hours. No comparison to the Lake District - simply cannot imagine the devastation in Cockermouth - 372mm rain in 24 hours - once in a thousand years, so they say. Horrendous for them. British community spirit is amazing - everyone is pulling together and the emergency services are outstanding.

Feeling less "ill" today - my sinuses are beginning to click/squeak - I'm hoping this means the pain in my head will decrease. It has to soon. Just.need.to.keep.my.head.up.

The power of positive thought.

After many attempts to ring India, finally managed to get hold of Eby and it was brilliant to talk to him " it’s such good news. Their little boy is continuing to breathe on his own, he’s requiring a little oxygen support, but he’s not had to go back on the ventilator. This is fantastic. He is also feeding better.

The doctors have scanned him and located where the blockage is. Now, I didn’t quite understand all the details " but I believe that they have to take him somewhere to have this surgery.... not out of the hospital, maybe another place in the hospital. They will keep him for another week in NICU so that he can get a little stronger and will rescan him just before the surgery. He also has a blood infection that they have not established what it is... but, they aren’t overly concerned. All his other organs appear to be developing as normal. This is just the best news they could hope for. He’s now 3 weeks and one day old Very Happy

Eby sounded very positive and strong. He wished to thank everyone for their support. I asked him to send our love to MaMaVerby and for them to know how much we care for and love them and that we’ll continue with all our positive thoughts, prayers, hopes, wishes and ommmmmmmms.

Great news for our Verby Family.... just great news.

@Letty,
Hey Crew

Tulip " rest up hun " can’t do anything else with this weather " it’s quite unbelievable. River is really high and loud. Thinking of those in N.England and Ireland - the flooding there is so sad.

Hope our PaddyBoy is not in any of the affected areas and that MsrF is faring OK whilst he visits the Emerald Isle.

Letty " thank you - yep " frontal sinuses " that’s what the pain is " I just need it to go. The pain is miserable and though the painkillers take the edge off, it’s still there. The antibiotics are definitely working - I just wish they would work a lot more quickly. Even being on the computer makes my head worse.

RUGBY " I have been in front of the fire all afternoon watching rugby. I’ve just seen the best match I’ve seen since Johnny scored in the World Cup. Last weekend Ireland did magnificently holding the Aussies off and drew the match - they were brilliant. This week " SCOTLAND were simply awesome " their defensive play was second to none " Australia scored a try in overtime " but didn’t convert " 9-8 to Scotland. Just an outstanding match.

I don’t know the results of the England " Kiwi match yet. Highlights starting right this minute. So.... will be back later.

Distraction... rugby players are great distraction Wink
