So.... when is bro back then? Mr FixIt? Dj doing OK? You all settled back into work again? Still doing same hours? and HOW ARE THE TOOTS!? Bracing yourselves for the winter <You do realise this is the 20 question thread a?>

Was hoping to see dj here; I guess he's still on the island. Will have to call in the next few days if I don't see him here.

Mr. Fix-it is back to school 7 days a week. His class has been warned that second year will make first year look like a walk in the park Shocked so he's trying to stay on top of things.

Yep, back at work. Lots of hours my first two weeks back (feet were SO unimpressed!) while departments and sections within departments were shifted a la Rubic's Cube (or Alice in Wonderland's tea party). I don't know what it is with the company I work for -- er, for which I work -- but someone at head office gets their kicks from meddling at least once a year in ways that totally tick off the customers. ("Where are the nuts and bolts? Why can't you leave stuff alone? I can never find anything! etc) We, naturally, bear the brunt of their displeasure... Already gearing up for Thanksgiving and Hallowe'en -- can Christmas be far behind?

Hi mismi, Dutchy, Verbivore, JPB (who am I missing?) and all!

@Tai Chi,
Meant to add -- loved the photos of your day at the beach. I love Eva Cassidy too and had never heard that -- thanks!

@Tai Chi,
Beautiful pics...beautiful music.

Thanks Izzie.

Hello crew...

Loved the little boy singing Rock. Very cute...mine are much more active than that - they are ALL over the place when they sing...of course I encourage that. I do love my job. I love the ladies I work with. It is SO much better than last year. I can't even compare the two experiences.

Okay - I gotta go get me some boys.

hugs y'all

@mismi,
Morning Izzie, JPB, verbivore, Tai Chi , mismi and others. Nice photos as always Izzie, you capture the atmosphere perfectly. Could be down the coast near me.

Hit by blinding rain, hail and thunder at the moment. All these years it has been so dry and now we're getting more rain than you you can throw a stick at. Farmers overjoyed as we're in for a record harvest.

Off to see my friend and drive him around the place, I can see many coffee stopping places along the way coming up.

Cheers all, ah come on Dutchy, a hug for the ladies. Smile Wink

Afternoon (or morning or evening depending on where you are) everybody. Checking back in after several days at Angel Fire where it was really too late for summer and too early for Fall and too rainy (even a few snowflakes) for a lot of outdoor activity, but still beautiful just the same.

Izzie thanks for remembering my birthday again. You are really something, you know that? In a very very good way I mean. Smile

With binoculars, this is sort of the view from the front deck of our family cabin there:

@Dutchy,
Aw Dutchy. You are too sweet. You know you're getting up in age though, when for your birthday hubby gives you a copper bracelet to help your arthritis. Smile

(Actually it is a braided copper, sterling, gold bracelet and quite lovely. But it was sold for medicinal purposes.)

Haven't read back but I will. I'm just a little "off" today. Lots of bad deams last night left me without the feeling of a restful sleep. I can't seem to shake them from my memory. Especially this one....

I’m in my bed sleeping. On my back. Arms spread out to the sides of me. Right leg bent at the knee and off to the side. (Exactly the way I was actually sleeping).

Voice in my dream: You need to get up and lock your bedroom door, Brooklyn.

Me in my dream: I’m too sleepy. I can’t move. There’s no one out there.

Voice: “Yes there is.” (Then I hear the rustling of footsteps outside my door.)

Me: Starts to get scared when I hear the footsteps. Sounds like more than 1 person out there. Sounds like several. But I can’t move. I can’t get up.

Voice: “Lock your door, Brooklyn. If you don’t lock it, you know what’s going to happen to you.”

Me: Still refusing to lock the door. Again I tell the voice in my dream that I can’t move. That I’m just too tired. Everything will be ok. I hear the footsteps again and realize that they went to the wrong bedroom. I am almost frozen in fear now, but I can’t make myself lock that door. Even though I know that they want to hurt me.

Voice : Is still trying to get me to get up and lock the door. Reminding me that I had been hurt by these same intruders before and reminding me how they had hurt me.

Me: Totally frozen in the fear. Was getting so scared that by now I was in a half semiconscious state. I remember asking myself again if I was dreaming. Then telling myself that I was indeed just dreaming. Telling myself to wake up. But then I heard the voices outside my door. They were about to come in. They had found me. I knew I had to move fast and get my ass out of bed and lock my door. Still … I just was too tired to move or get up. So I lay there.

Voice: It’s too late now. You should have listened to me.

Me: I am still on the bed. Scared to death. Trying hard to move but nothing would move. Not my arms, my legs …nothing. I asked myself if I was just dreaming. Trying to get myself to wake up before they came in and hurt me, but it really was too late. The door was opening.

Here’s the funny part. I remember nothing of that dream after that. I don’t know what happened. I don’t even know if I actually woke up and stopped the dream? I just don’t know. But I do remember it well up to that point. I hate scary dreams. It was just a dream ...... it was just a dream .... it was just a dream?!

Getting ready for school today. It starts tomorrow. Some professors already have assignments up so I’ve been working on those to try and get a step ahead. Each year just gets harder it seems. More intense. Like it’s their goal to push you to the max to see if they can break you or something. They can try, but they won't break me.

Love to all ...... xoxo

Izzie

I noticed the same thing. I hope both Izzie and Brooke are okay. (Izzie has a separate thread on bad dreams.)

Woah! Shocked

That is just beyond spooky!

I am so sorry that your dreams haunted you last night too, Izz. How do you shake them when they do that? I feel like I am not going to be able to get anything done today.....but I'm trying. Silly as it sounds ..... I still feel scared. But it was just a dream.
