@annis,
Hi annis, that is a great way to spend your Christmas, very novel, you won't regret it. Did a similar thing many moons ago but in Sweden, don't think I could stand the cold now though. Smile

@annis,
Oh Tulip - that is awesome! So happy for you. I don't think that is naughty! Those are wonderful memories you are creating. I can't imagine anything better! I am excited for you!

I am not so sluggish today. G-baby seems almost normal...no fever yet - so I am hopeful. Now just praying the twins don't get it. Or me for that matter. We are headed to Tennessee again next weekend for the Vols game (college football) and the boys would be so disappointed if we can't go. We are going with my Mom and Dad in law. Should be fun.

Izzie, how are you and FQ today? Wink

Dutchy - you about to go to bed? Sleep well sweet man.

Okay...gotta go clean up the breakfast mess I made.

see y'all later.

An actual report in the newspaper reminded me of my problem putting on a hat a few weeks ago. Smile

Quote:
Research shows men who spend even a few minutes in the company of an attractive woman perform less well in tests designed to measure brain function than those who chat to someone they do not find attractive. Researchers who carried out the study, published in the Journal of Experimental and Social Psychology, think the reason may be that men use up so much of their brain function or 'cognitive resources' trying to impress beautiful women, they have little left for other tasks.

Hey hey crew

I’m not sure I am awake, I am that tired!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Mis " so glad G-baby is doing better " keeping fingers crossed you will all stay well now. Maybe once you start at work it will be easier " sometimes it’s just the thought of going " but once you get there " maybe it will feel right.

Tulip " good decision " well done you. Seems like a good idea to me.
(((BEAgle))) " you are keeping busy a? Send my love to MrsB would ya. Xxxx Love you x

Ha " jw " YOU THINK YOU GOT PROBS MATE " you should see us when we have our true blonde moments! Embarrassed

So, bit of late nite and forgot to turn my phone alarm off, which was downstairs somewhere. 6.30am...... oh fer goodness sake!!!! Stomp stomp stomp

Jgirl and S-boy went river surfing " one bumped knee. Nasty - hobbly boy (when he thinks hard about it Wink )

K (FQhub) left early to get his little fella to football and started his drive up country - and FQ went to leave for the wedding after running just a tad, late due to incessant yabbering ( who us - in trouble with hubby " uh oh) " and being the heap that she is, got all the stuff in the car, the suit, the big floppy hat, the suitcase, the KEYS! Shocked And.............. THE KEYS... the KEYS!

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/usa%202009/DSC03029.jpg

We had to call a “I know a man who can”... Razz (British expression!)
http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/usa%202009/DSC03053.jpg

WE LOVE ANDY " yep, we were chanting in the driveway. Now, Andy " who is Andy ? Well... Andy is the man who the little lady on the phone called after FQ started screeching down the phone that she had locked the keys in boot of the car and had to be at a wedding up country at 3pm. Shocked OH MY

So... Andy calls us and, lo and behold, he is K’s cousin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoda thunk it
http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/usa%202009/DSC03034.jpg
He arrived within the hour " by which time we had FQ made up, hair done, painted nails and ready to go. (and I gave the grass half a haircut also " too wet " green hands " ugh!) K had gone and bought her a G&T to be ready for when she arrived!

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/usa%202009/DSC03031.jpg

He picked the lock, (I know a man who can!)
http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/usa%202009/DSC03035.jpg

Whilst concentrating very hard he had a chat to his cousin whom he hasn’t seen for about 8 years (FQ hadn’t met this side of K’s family " what a way to meet the relatives a?)

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/usa%202009/DSC03036.jpg

little fella then had to scramble into the boot whilst FQ and daughter2 looked on trying to point to where the keys were (we could not stop with the fits of laughter " pass the incontinence pad!)

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/usa%202009/DSC03041.jpg

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/usa%202009/DSC03046.jpg

SUCCESS <big screeches>
http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/usa%202009/DSC03044.jpg
FQ had to hurriedly depart " Andy turned to me and said “I know you” " small world and all that " he fixed my Vauxhall Astra in 1980! HAAAAAA! How cool is that. Bless him and his lock picker!

So....... after that and thinking all was well " K then phoned to say “has my dozey mare of a wife left her phones there....” and yep " both phones (who has 2!!!!!!!!!!!!? " she does) " upstairs in the bedroom. Anyhoo " she arrived and I shall drive the girls up country in the morning to meet them so they can travel back on up up and across country.

So " then, Pam came over and we chatted for an hour. Then Daughter1 and I jumped straight into the car and went yomping across the moors, (don’t ask how " horrendous feet) to get to a deserted tin mine, to do a photoshoot. HOWEVER " as we got right down to the valley we could hear some goings on " there was a professional photo shoot going on in the mine (this is in the middle of the booneys on the moors " 3 prof photographers and 3 models " scantily clad in white bikins and high heel shoes with ribbon up their legs. OH OH OH MY! Not too sure what to do " ya know... was it a professional shoot? Well, we figured it was and being a little on the beaky side needed to walk around and have a quick looksee. Sheeeeeeeeesh " those gals were cold. <Wheal Betsy is the name of the mine " its quite a foreboding place... deep and mysterious>

We yomped back up to car (oh fer goodness sake, stop raining, stumble trip, stumble trip!) " and drove on a little further and found a derelict cob house... now this was truly amazing. We were so big and brave (like 2 naughty school kids). It’s all cordoned off so we clambered thru (too good an opportunity to miss " don’t worry, I wouldn’t let anything happen to JellyBean) " it was fabulous " I purposely didn’t take my camera " but wished I had " will go back next week. Daughter2 climbed right into the cottage and we yomped thru fields to the outbuildings. Yomped " proper yomp. Amazing. I have driven past this cottage for 40 years and never dared go in " what a find. What a result. Loved it.

Filled car with petrol, got home, daughter2 had cooked dinner, little fella had cleaned up " G popped by briefly as he hadn’t met daughter2 " friends is working.

And the day hasn’t stopped. Fridge broke, extractor fan broke. Awaiting the next thing. Hey ho.

Totally wiped now and need to sleep " yep " it’s before midnite " and I am actually going to bed. Hand and toots are not in a good way so I am elevating " walking will be a trial tomorrow. Little fella is in bed and I will get the girls up now before they lose their glass slippers. Bless them, they are have been so good. Love them with all my heart.

WHAT A DAY " physically wiped. Mentally buzzing. Gonna go back to the derelict cottage in the next couple days " it was so mysterious " kinda sombre " utterly excellent. May have to ask G to accompany me " not the sort of place you would go to alone " way to dangerous for many a reason Shocked " BUT SO WORTH IT. Daughter2 and I were scrambling thru brambles and nettles " just for the “one” shot. Bless her. Love my sis’s girls. LOVE THEM.

So, up early tomorrow and not too sure where we’re meeting K yet " but we’ll find him. Heapofa-Sis should be on her way South East home by then as the girls return to school tomorrow nite. (oops... that shoulda been Friday " HEY HO Razz Razz Razz Razz)

All in all " a great 24 stimulating hours " and now time to rest up (if poss)

Live, Laugh, Love xxxx

(((((Blue))))) " I miss you heap big muchly. xox

This deserves another play... a song Tulip played - has been in my head - I can't let it go...

The valley green was so serene,
In the middle ran a stream so blue...
A maiden fair, in despair,
Once had met her true love there and she told him...
She would say...

[Chorus]
Promise me, when you see
A white rose you'll think of me.
I love you so,
Never let go,
I will be...
Your ghost of a rose...

Her eyes believed in mysteries,
She would lay amongst the leaves of amber...
Her spirit wild, heart of a child,
Yet gentle still, and quiet and mild
And he loved her...
When she would say...

[Chorus]

When all was done, she turned to run,
Dancing to the setting sun as he watched her...
And evermore he thought he saw
A glimpe of her upon the moors forever...
He'd hear her say...

[Chorus]

Nite crew xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

@Izzie,
Interesting story about the Wheal Betsy Izzie. I can show you a similar structure and chimney in a gully only about 3 kilometres from where I live. It was left by a group of Cornish miners which mined for silver there in the 1800's. Last week it got a mention in the local press as it was being vandalised by local hoons.

I know why you're tired, Izz, it's finger-strain.

Only kidding.

Liked your story, though, it was lovely.

I've just seen the most amazing thing I've ever seen, bar none. There was a TV documentary on tonight on BBC4- Storyville: How the Beatles Rocked the Kremlin.

Sounds a bit trite perhaps, but really, it is the most amazing thing I've ever seen on or off TV. Totally gobsmackingly mindblowing.

Mc T - sounds lovely. Gotta be better than Alvin and the Chipmunks...which I loved the first time I saw it...but this would be my - well...I lost count.

Hi all. G-baby has been fever free for 2 days! Woohoo....

Now I have it. How did I get it so quickly you ask. I kiss my babies when they are sick. Not wise...but unpreventable.

Hugs to all...hope you're all hangin' in there.

See y'all later. Smile

@mismi,
Sorry to hear about your problems mismi, it must be contagious as there are only hugs in your post and no smooches. Laughing I guess the Prof. will be the next victim.

Had the most fantastic Fathers Day ever thanks to my son, he floored me with his generosity. Return flight to Sydney, Hotel accommodation and tickets to watch the much anticipated football game between Holland and Australia on October 10. Which team to barrack for????? Laughing

My weekend couldn't be better, hope yours was equally as good.

@Barry The Mod,
The round ball game Barry, you know, Arsenal and Chelsea stuff. This game will draw a full house of 90.000, that's how much the game has grown here in recent years because of the Socceroos impact on the world game. Amazingly the coach of the Socceroos is a Dutchman!

Morning Crew

What a busy weekend! Life is flying by waaaaaaaaay too quick.

BEAgle " I read the article.... WHY? That’s the question. Why do they do such things? Boredom possibly. Such a crying shame really. I admit as a kid I wasn’t fascinated in the slightest with the “relics” " nowadays tho I can’t seem to get enough of the countryside and the unusual. Wheal Betsy is in the midst of Dartmoor so is a National Trust Property " as are most things in the National Parks - mind you, anyone venturing out on the moors at nite to attempt to vandalise property is fair game for the “Beasts of the Moors” Wink Perhaps they know better Razz The ‘ole Hound of the Baskervilles and Beast of Bodmin " well, who knows a? Bless your M " what a lovely Father’s Day prize " how thoughtful and generous he is " love that boy. So glad you had the best weekend " many more great ones to come. x

Tulip " oooooooooooh yep, need to borrow that CD gal " good to talk yesterday " glad you have plans for Christmas " just the ticket!

McT " ha " I’m so rubbish " I AM GOING TO THE POST OFFICE TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <tries to find padded envelope Rolling Eyes > Hey, I still have my postcards from Texas too " unwritten and unsent. I really am rubbish Very Happy We’ve been trying to play guitar and can’t get it in tune. I have an electronic tuner here somewhere in the garage " ha " now you’ll know the problem. G took it over to one of the lads in the shop who is in a band and he tuned it up and played " by the time we got it back " it sounded terrible. However, it’s not preventing the little fella playing Smoke on the Water " again... and again... and again! Razz There’s a programme I’ve been advised to watch called Wildest Dreams
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00lvz1n I haven’t got round to watching it yet " but, I’ve been told it’s my sort of programme " think DjjD and Boida may like it too. Now........ for the hours in a day to find to watch it Shocked

Oh Mis " now you have the lurgy. Poor you girlie. FQ and I were talking about you over the weekend and were hoping you wouldn’t get sick " know it will be a real knock back. Do you think you will manage to get to work tomorrow? (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Mis))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Hugs and all love to you Dixie. x

MaMaVerby " there you are little one. Did you get to go away at all? I know you had to cancel Kerala " but have you had any time off? We have been missing you " have seen you signing on and off occasionally on msn but don’t seem to get the chance to yabber with you. There’s usually someone about on the deck hun " come by when you can and have a chat if you’re feeling low. How are you feeling now that the bump is growing. Due date???????????? How did Eby’s camera work out " is he enjoying the new lens?

Well folksies " it seems my days are filled to bursting with.......... I don’t know what. I have a little “head” problem (doh me) which is stopping me going to familiar places (e.g. the town etc) and would rather lock myself up so I don’t see the past (gosh, I’m such a together person, not " ack) or I go to places anywhere in the world where I know I won’t see any of the past. I have been a little bigger and braver over the weekend and actually asked G to accompany me to this derelict building that FQdaughter1 and I visited. It was so exciting. Well, I was excited. G looked on completely bemused at how I could possibly get excited about a tiny cow shed. But you know, there was such a massive world inside this shed. I spent at least 20 mins just sitting in it on my own and feeling the place. Strangely " I haven’t even looked at my photos yet. That will be something I savour for later.

Then, I went thru the cordoned off bit to go into the derelict cottage. G was on the road keeping an eye out " so off I went " and just as I got inside " someone came along and told us that we were on private property and had to leave Shocked How grumpy was that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place has been abandoned for.... long as I can remember and I wouldn't have toched a thing - just wanted to photograph it " a few years back the whole roof was rethatched " I assume it must be a listed building " and therefore I believe it has to have a roof " the thatch must’ve cost around £30K " and the cottage is derelict. Ahhhhh... makes me want to cry. Such a waste waste waste.

Anyhoo " then we went to G’s parents " this friends business is a bit weird to say the least!!!!!!!! " as G-Dads computer needed fixing " oh hey, I could do that. Well, I couldn’t fix fix it " but jointly, we did manage to transfer all the music to the other computer. His PaPa has an aviary........ OH MY. The boids were...... incredible. Macaws and all sorts (they are the Doolittle Family). Then Gdaughter turned up so....... time for me to go Wink

Dropped at the door and spent the next few hours in a state of collapse whilst having a “who me” hysterical laughter moment with FQ on the phone - love those moments (incontinence pad moment for us both). FQ family all back safe and sound up country " and will maybe go visit there in a couple weeks time " then they’ll be here for some of half term.

So........ as you can see I am on witter mode. MaMa is on her way over as my Godmothers book is due to be published and she needs me to sort out the photos (off negatives and slides) to go into it " so may not be around til a bit later.

Have been missing y’all badly " bit strange too " have been intently reading a lot of the threads that I am finding interesting right now " thing is " sometimes I get to the point where I poke the screen and roll my eyes saying “fer goodness sake " just hush up already!!!!!” Ooof " the world is made up of some weird and wonderful folk a? Hey ho. Twilight zone. Monty Python and déjà vu all rolled into one, at times. Ha " whom I’m to talk " nem’mind!!!!!! Blah blah blah.

K " back a bit laterzzzzzz ------------ talking of zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz’s " oh please can I have some more zzzzzzzzzz’s. Can anyone fix that for me. That would be divine. Nope... ah well.

Lovin’ y’all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
