@Foxfyre,
Hey Crew
MM " such tragedy " truly horrific for you and them. I can only imagine what you must go through. I’ve experienced ...mmmm.... I’ve experienced death once " and it’s with me every single day " tho someone said something to me a little bit aback that has given me a way to think of it in a different light.
I can’t imagine the images you have. The accident I spoke of yesterday " the little boy was burned. My colleague “T” has those images " truly, unbearable, but those children survived and in time, will heal. I believe their guardian angels were watching over them.
“G” has told me a little of his experiences, not just with fires " it’s something he doesn’t mull over too much " he, like you, was firefighting in the local community " so, the victims weren’t always nameless people " all the more difficult to deal with especially when you pass a family member in the street. It’s rare tho for G to talk about his experiences " he will if I ask, but he doesn’t volunteer the info in everyday conversation " it’s “put to the back”. As Missy says " y’all keep a lot of what happens within the unit. He did tell me the other day that even when they lost people, the family would still go to them and thank them for everything they tried to do " sometimes there were feelings of guilt even tho they did everything that they could. G’s found a way to put those images to a place that doesn’t hurt him " I don’t think he always found it easy to do at the time. He can talk about it without emotion and I think that must be the only way to deal with it " or else, you can’t do the job.
Those people who you help need you to be professional, calm and focused " your lives are on the line too when you go on a “shout”. I think that having rock hard emotions is the only way for survival when you have to deal with the unimaginable BUT " everyone has a heart " and you do feel it.
Bless you Jeff for all you do to help your community. Doing these jobs... whether firefighting, police, the armed forces.... whatever, wherever " it must be so difficult at times to see what you see and do what you do. Hold onto the fact tho " that by doing the jobs you do " you make a difference " a huge difference " knowing that someone tried to help, put their life on the line to help another, fought the good fight and all " well... it DOES make a difference.
Sorry, rambling now " talking out loud to a friend too.
Vent away hun " anytime " we’ll be here.

Saw the Cathedral, street entertainers, listened to the buskers and clapped my hands at Simon & Garfunkle. Hot chocolate and a latte. Verra nice. I bought a pair of jeans " OMGAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did. I spent
