@Izzie,
OH MY GAWD

I am so on major sensory overload!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

oh oh oh................. if you could just see and feel what I'm feeling (it's not too koooky really) - it's huge wonderful.

OK........ and breathe

my poppies have popped

my dragonflies have arrived in the garden

my kitty has been to the vet and he has half a visible eye now - they cut some stitches and the others (lots of) will dissolve. Have to take him back in 10 days to see if the corneal puncture has healed - his third eyelid is all messed up but he's such a happy shadow right now - he's running around outside. I had to climb out of my bedroom window and get him off the roof thismorning - he so wanted to get out. THEN.... a hot air balloon went past my house - so I waved!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i feel good

i've been sitting in the garden and down by the river ............ just feeling.......... it's such a good feeling.

It's so warm, the sun is beaming down and I can't seem to quite take it all in.

Anyhoooooooo - I just wanted to tell you all.

and breathe again...

@Izzie,
Lovely day, isn't it.

I woke up early, was back from my first shopping run before 7 a.m. In the garden pruning by just after 7. The poppies are still grey and nodding, but getting ready, getting ready. The bridal wreath spirea is probably just hours from a full flush. The lilacs in back are gorgeous and smelly - the rhubarb's ready to harvest and stew. Best time of the year eh.

@ehBeth,
I'm very proud of them ehBeth, planted them when they were barely a foot high, lemon tree is now almost 6' high and have nursed them like 'babies' after Izzie called them that. Smile

Bethie - your garden sounds lovely girl - rhubarb too - love rhubarb. Rhubarb and custard!

I have to upload a pic of these poppies - they have just blown me away. They are so BIG. They are so ORANGE. Where did they come from. I wasn't here this time last year so had no idea they were going to like they do. So excited.

@ehBeth,
I love this time of year... I'm kinda loving a lot of things right now..... everything all seems a little too good to be true.... my garden is just perfect

the poppies weren't there yesterday - and today - this explosion of colour greeted me as I went outside this morning... like someone had painted them there

and look how all crumpled up they are - like they couldn't wait to get out of their pods and stretch...

Blowing in the breeze........

That's the first two....... there are so many more pods..... and the whole garden is just blanketing with colour.... it's like a pallette

(I think I need to sleep....... maybe lack of sleep is making me like this a? I ought to calm down a? It is so very lovely here - peaceful, ya know, just peaceful)

(sorry.......... just have to tell y'all about it...)

@djjd62,
djjd you've done a masterly job with that front porch, if you have some spare time I have just the job for you. Your garden also looks stunning, wish things like that would grow around here.

Morning Captain, where are you, Saturday night up your way, having visitors?

@Dutchy,
the deck worked quite well, should look really good once i get the railing done, but with the forecast showing rain most of next week it, it won't be done right away

we're in the last month of spring here and still getting regular rain, by july the gardens could be a different story

love to help with the project but the commute is a little daunting, maybe if you've got the time you could bring one of those lemons over and we could have gin and tonics on the deck Very Happy

@Dutchy,
Hey hey.........

Great deck DjjD - you sound very proud.... you should be...... fantastic job. Well done you. Beautiful garden. x

BEAgle........ nope, no visitors........ Had such a wonderful morning, then was really, really tired, sleeping (not) with my eyes open... and feeling a little down tonite. That's a bit stupid really - but... I kinda like my solitude, peaceful times - you know, I don't mind being on my own at all - but tonite, why tonite who knows, but I didn't want to be on my own. Little fella is at his Dads for the weekend..... not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow - it's gonna be a nice day so I may drive to the beach - but, not sure I wanna do that by myself - there will be a lot of people there tomorrow. Oh, I may go climb a Tor - that would be good. Or, I may just stay at home and sit by the river.

I'm drinking the best hot chocolate right now - and it's warm (for here) outside - so I'm gonna go sit outside for a while whilst the dawgs have a run around. Very Happy

@Izzie,
Hi Izzie! Home for a couple of days to pay bills etc. Survived a yard sale today (tired but made some money and got rid of some stuff). The painting's done (ceiling, and walls after some plastering). YAY! Heading north again in a couple of days with a window to install, some vinyl flooring and baseboards and electrical stuff. What's been happening?

@Tai Chi,
Hi Tai Chi, good to see you and to hear project is going to plan. Would love to take a peep where you're spending your time. A friend of mine just returned from Canada and the pictures she showed me were just awesome. Have a safe trip back.
