"YABBER-LINER" - ALL ABOARD

YUK... horrible rest and nightmares again... they've been back for a few days now. Fortunately Tulip woke me up with the phone and got me out of the latest one. YUK - HATE nightmares! Only ever get them in the afternoon - yuk yuk yuk.



Closes eyes ... opens eyes... yep... t'was just a 'mare. Done.





So.......... Ima off to pick up the little fella in a bit and have my dinner at my parents. That's been a LOOOOONG time = 'tis a little difficult with MaMa and BigBoy situation. Hopefully all will be fine tho.

Well - trip over to the town was quite unbelievable - FOG... FOG.... FOG... couldn't see diddly so was puttering along at 20mph the whole way - I know the road like the back of my hand, yet, when that fog is down - nada, not a clue where the road bends or twists and turns. Little fella had a fit of the giggles at the dinner table and fell off his chair. We toasted my Granny who died 21 years ago today - I was in Australia (she waited 'til I left the UK to travel before she finally found her peace) and MaMa had a sherry - as you do!

Now, back on the deck. Little fella will be going to school tomorrow - he's doing just fine now so no worries.

Morning Izzie, just had my early morning swim in the ocean, 6am, still 30 degrees but heading for 44 plus! Hope we have no power black-outs as happened at many other places here yesterday. Fog and heat what a combination Captain. Will have a look at facebook later on and see what gives, adding F/Q to my list of friends, really honoured. Hope S-boy will be ok by morning. Annis our day went well with relatives and friends giving us support as always. Thank you for your kind thoughts. Will be back later, have a few J/P's to complete.

k... well... whilst I was over at my folks tonite, PaPa had the Channel 4 news on. The reporter quoted a quotation from twice winner of the Pulitzer Prize, John Updike... who passed away today at the age of 76.

he wanted his writing to "unlock the traffic jam in everybody's head".

just really struck a chord with me. Came home and read some of his writings....

Yep, have read some reports about him tonite - truly he had amazing wiritings - tho, I do confess (being me and all that) - I had not heard of him (did I say that out loud Gosh I can't abide me admitting how I don't have heaps of knowledge - ack - of course, no-one would have ever known that had I not said it... HA!!!!!!!!!!! right!) - well, have been reading many of his quotations - love them! Quite inspiring actually.

DAY. FROM. HELL.....O!

Terrible - lost the plot at work - blubbed at least a dam and 2 reservoirs (where's the Hoover)! (which I do when I get angry). Found out from HR that they got it wrong about my pay when I go have surgery - NOW THEY TELL ME. I will lose it - my pay - well, half of it.

C'mon - 4 different people in HR... I got it in writing... and DCC payroll say 'tough diddly do - we're not gonna pay you - na na nana naa naaaaaa". So... got a little bit of a fight on my hands at the moment and hoping the Head will get HR to overrule Payroll...

yeah.......... coz that's gonna happen!

Well - it might - think positive. I have a good case - I mean I do have it writing from HR and the school will get paid by my school health insurance policy... so......... gotta wait and see. Have given the Head all the docs - so, hopefully she will make the call.

Then - audit next week, so had to stay on for an extra few hours and now I'm cream crackered. So....going to lie down for a bit.

Don't like days like that at work - love my job - don't like it when I have to get pissy with someone - though admittedly, I do "do" pissy well when I need to.

Morning Izzie, Dev, Annis and others, survived the night now facing another inferno. Would you believe it is so hot I can fry an egg on the bonnet of my car! Spending anothert day indoors hoping the power stays on, 37 suburbs were blacked out during the night as the power generators couldn't keep up. That's the result when you transfer a well run public utility into private ownership, and the latter failing to maintain the infrastructure. We never used to have blackouts before! All they think of is profits, they should be shot for letting old people suffer because of their short sighted policies. Had my rant for the day, now feel better.

So sorry it is that hot - I know I wouldn't be able to cope in that heat at all - can hardly imagine what it must be like without the AC or any power. Horrendous for folk.
