Hi all, the bosun is steering the ship through untroubled waters so everybody can have a good night's rest. All very quiet on deck so I may as well enjoy a 'coldy' as the mercury is rising by the hour downunder. ddxx knows what I'm talking about, bet she's having a cold 'Chardy', good excuse as we're celebrating Australia Day, our National Holiday this 26 January.

Rainbow windows....DjjD... Love it. I have glass thingys hanging down too... love the colours the sun makes as it hits the glass and shines through. Cool! Thanku for that. x

the purple one has a heron on it, we have a beautiful national park near us, with lots of herons in a large marsh area
the blue one has a map of the manitoulin island on it, it's a fave family vacation spot (tai chi has her schoolhouse there) and it's also a part of our family history, ancestors were settlers
the green one has thistles on it as a nod to our scottish heritage
the larger gold piece was called the tree of life

Still floating around Captain, just doing my normal things, j/p's, crosswords, e-mail, facebook etc.

so nice when they have meaning behind them too.... was trying to explain to some photogtraphers tonite that I attach feelings to images... (weird, I know)

your's all have feelings attached to them... not just coz they're pretty pieces. Great to see and visualise from your descriptions.

Sorry to have been AWOL, but life seemed to have taken control of all my time lately.

Stacy and I are doing ok.
She is still grieving about Kaine, and goes to the cemetary every couple of days.
She goes past it every day on her way to work.
Other then that, she is doing ok.

Right now, we are under a winter storm warning.
The weather pukes are calling for between 6 and 12 inches of snow by morning.
If that happens, I will have to seek a safe harbor to hole up in for awhile.

The FD has been very busy lately, we have had several runs in the last week, all of them for structure fires.
Fortunately, nobody was hurt in those fires.

Izzie, yes I got the pics of the shirt, thank you.

Once I figure out how to post pics on here, I will post a pic of tomorrows snow for everyone to "enjoy".

Oh MM... glad you made it here. Folk have been asking about you - always sending you our love and best wishes. If you can post pics of your snow, that would be great.

still working on that, when my grandmother (mom's side) was little they went to scotland a couple of times to visit relatives

on my grandfathers side we're irish

here's my great great grandfathers headstone, he's buried on the manituolin island



this is the store on the manitoulin island that my great grandfather was sitting at when he found out my mother had been born, she was the first grandchild, and he was sitting talking with friends when someone came in and said, hello grandpa, he looked at them for a minute and then jumped up and started to holler, "the baby, the bay's here"
