Hey Tai Chi - can understand - it was 28F at our bus stop this morning...and that felt too cold. Cannot imagine what you all are getting. Suppose to get down to 13F tonight. We don't know how to behave in this weather! And don't worry about the Jujubes - I am amazed at now being off of the sugar for so long how I don't seem to be craving it. I made sugar cookies with hershey kisses in the middle of them for my boys yesterday and I didn't not even have 1 tiny taste...I will be the first one to tell you how amazed I am. I guess I am just not a sweet person!

Jujubes -- sort of like wine gums, but instead of artificial wine flavours, they have artificial fruit flavours. Mmmmm...sugar AND artifical flavours -- can't beat that!

Gosh D - just looks horrendous. I have never seen BIG fire like that in real life - of course, I see the burning that takes place on the moors... but nothing like that - the folks must have been so scared with the fires getting closer and knowing there is nothing that can be done to prevent the loss of buildings.

The firefighters are incredible. They are incredibly brave people in those situations - I simply cannot imagine what they go through when they are that close to the fire.

Amazing photos.... horrible.... but the damage that happens is certainly brought home with the pics.

Sadly awesome power of the fires, D - but thanks for letting us share it with you. We really enrich each other's lives by sharing events like this. All best wishes to M and family - I know how dear they are to you.

On a happier note, I MAY just be spending a few days in Chicago in mid April! Will let you all know if it is definitely arranged - should know next week. If so, hoping to meet one of the crew briefly there too! Excited? You bet!
