@mismi,
Hi Mismi,

Thanks for the welcome. Yes, I am halfway through chemo. Three more sessions, then 1/2 year of another drug which isn't chemo that is supposed to help with her2 positive breast cancer. I have no hair (and it's cold!) but a good wig. I just don't look like me when I look in a mirror. Pretty strange!

Appreciate all good thoughts and prayers very much.

Have a good dinner and talk to you later,
Dianne

@bathsheba,
Hi Bathy good to see you, sending you plenty of vibes from downunder, a long way to go, hope they find you my friend.

Anybody seen the Captain this morning, not frozen in I hope, with all that unusual cold down the moors?

Mismi, as you are preparing supper, please watch them calories you know what they do to you. Not going into detail here for fear of a tongue lashing. Laughing

Awaiting further postings.
Izzie

@bathsheba,
Hey Crew...

I went to rest for a few hours " those pins and needles caught my dreamcatcher " ugh - nasty dreams.

Anyhoo... I had an unexpected visit at work today, from the chap who hasn’t made me real for 15 months! Mmmm-using... it was lovely to see him " some of you know the history " but " now he will maybe go back in his box, on his own, for another 15 months " all of 5 minutes away <shakes head > . Don’t anyone shout at me. I KNOW ALREADY. I’m strong now, even strong enough to say it out loud here which is a first " I told him I would never let myself be hurt again. That’s a good thing. No other way!

However, talking of sweets DjjD...... well, there’s nothing like some Dolly Mixtures " oooooooooooh " and of course Tooty Fruitys " I’ll go along with the gal on the BBC " I so wanna bag of sweets! What's your fave sweet?

So................... I phoned the council today as someone told me at work that I may be able to get a grant for a new boiler. Well, how good would that be? Apparently it takes 6 weeks for them to come out and assess the boiler " mmmm... not sure mine will last that time without the new PCB (plumber didn’t phone me!) " can I keep going without the heating.... not sure! Gonna try and phone them tomorrow and see if they may be able to hurry it up " we’ll see.

Garage have agreed to provide me with the breakdown cover they said isn’t covered on the warranty " the fella today was actually really nice on the phone (not the patronising eejit I spoke to yesterday) " going to see if the wipers will work tomorrow morning in the cold " or whether all the electrics are going to fuse. Blooming nuisance quite honestly. Nem’mind.

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... what else. Oh...scaffolders haven’t shown up. Is this “p'iz off Iz" week or something! Have put a call in, waiting to hear back.

Missy.... can you pass a baby over please?!

Alex... are your socks dry!

Indeedee " glad to hear that PaPa is OK and wishing you the BEST time out with the girlies. Will be toasting you with a hot chocolate later gal!

BEAgle " here’s the pics youtubed for ease.....

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=51GP0dUVSJE

(ack... just looked at it, the quality is horribly rubbish) brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... it was SOOOOOO cold (not as cold as yesterday tho) and just beautiful by the tiny river.... oh.... that is the river my car got enveloped by in the floods a little further upstream. What a difference today " just wonderful.

(ooops... so gotta learn to pick just one!)

Oh Oh Oh... I spoke to the surgeon " have to keep the date to the 10th Feb.... but have squared it away with my boss that I will work extra hours before the surgery and then they will put the absence through a day later than it should be " which means I shouldn’t lose my pay. Phew phew... so.... a month’s time. Little fellas school have been brilliant too and have agreed to let him board for 3 nights so I won’t have to rely on everyone to look after him or do the school runs.... well, only 3 " but Tulip has said she will do the evening one " so that is coco.

So.... that’s all good, right?

AND.... BETH.... guess what.... Belly Dancing at the Village Hall next Tuesday week " can you make it and bring your shiny bits!!!!! a? I am trying to persuade Tulip to come " no pressure (she had better come!!!!!!!!!) so, that should be a laugh provided all is coco on the day. What a laugh that will be! <rolls eyes, thinks to herself, what am I doing?>

Dianne.... great to see you here again " jump aboard and sit on the deck and get to know the crew " mind you..... keep a look out anything Blue or Pink... and if you see him " let me know " I need to hug him and I’ve lost him! No doubt he’s in the dunny! Hoping the treatment hasn’t taken it’s toll on you this time round and that you are keeping as strong as you can, and pampering yourself when you need to. Maybe Beth will sit on a lounger and knit a hat for you. Loadsa love to you and gentle hugs x

Vegemite.... ping me hunni " even if I say “offline” " I’m gonna be around tomorrow. X

Now.. gonna make a cuppa and will then come and sit for a while... it’s Thursday now " it’s my day off!
Very Happy
Izzie

Shocked

Wine gums (or winegums) are chewy, firm sweets similar to gumdrops, except they are not sugar-coated. They are manufactured from animal gelatin, mixed with sweeteners, flavourings and colourings. They are extremely popular in Ireland and the United Kingdom, as well as in Commonwealth nations such as Canada, New Zealand, Malta and South Africa, and other northern and middle European countries. Popular brands include Bassett's (or Maynards in Canada, the UK and Ireland).

Flavour

Wine gums contain no wine. The name comes from the lingering, subtle fruit flavours that make it "similar to the experience of savouring a fine wine". In reference to this, the sweets have the names of alcoholic drinks on them, for example port, sherry, champagne, claret, gin, rioja, chablis and Burgundy. Also appearing on Maynards' gums are "M" and Maynards. For those in the United States of America, they most closely resemble Jujyfruits in colours, texture, and sweetness, though with different flavours. According to Cadbury Schweppes, red and black are the most popular colours. Red is traditionally tart cherry-flavoured whereas the black is berry-flavoured.

Mis.... wine gums.... you never had wine gums! OH MY! Now, the US ones are different to the UK ones... little fella used to eat them - then he read about the gelatin.... and being a veggie said he wouldn't ever eat them again. He LOVES jelly tots tho Wink

BEAgle... listen Aussie Boy - if I have a tongue like Wilkinson Sword... our Mis is gonna be like Remington Steel!!!! You are gonna be in heap big doo doo if you're not careful. Remember, she has big hair these days - definite hairy eye-ball coming your way from the Dixie South!

Glad you liked the pics... me and my camera are gonna go walkabout tomorrow - mind you, might have to take a hot water bottle with me! Possibly a hip flask. My bionic feet do not like the cold and I have just the one pair of trainers. Razz

@djjd62,
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/51/Swedish_salty_liquorice.jpg/800px-Swedish_salty_liquorice.jpg
Swedish salty liquorice "Djungelvrål"

Salty liquorice is popular in the Nordic countries, as well as the Netherlands and the Baltic states. In the Netherlands and the Nordic countries, it is called salty liquorice: salmiakk/saltlakris (Norwegian), salmiakdrop (Dutch), saltlakrids (Danish), sāļā lakrica (Latvian), salmiak/saltlakrits (Swedish) and saltlakkrís (Icelandic).
The Latin term for ammonium chloride is sal ammoniac. In Finnish, the candies are usually called salmiakki, although this can also refer to other products containing ammonium chloride. The terms salmiakkimakeinen (salmiac candy) or salmiakkilakritsi (salmiac liquorice) are also sometimes used. For pure ammonium chloride, the term raakasalmiakki (raaka = raw) can be used, if necessary.
In Finland Salmiakki was once a trade name of Fazer, but quickly became a genericized trademark not unlike nylon. The canonical shape for Finnish salmiakki candies is a black diamond-shaped lozenge. This shape is so popular that in Finnish, the word "salmiakki" can sometimes refer to this shape, instead of the candy. For example, Finnish Defence Forces reserve officer students rank insignia are known as "salmiakki"s for their distinctive shape. However, especially in other countries, different shapes are used. In Swedish, Danish, and Norwegian, the candies are sometimes called salmiaklakrits, salmiaklakrids, and salmiakklakris, respectively, where salmiak(k) refers to the ammonium chloride ingredient. In Dutch, the term salmiakdrop usually refers to salty liquorice with a high concentration of ammonium chloride, whereas zoute drop (salted licorice) contains regular salt. Also readily available in the Netherlands is a powder-based candy called Salmiak which comes in sweet and salty flavours.

@Dutchy,
Hi, crew, Have just enjoyed catching up on all the posts. Love and hugs to all.

Not a very good day for me, I'm afraid. Knee has been painful for 4 weeks and on Monday doc said I have strained a ligament and prescribed anti inflammatory cream. However the pain has spread and got much worse this week and today I could hardly walk - and kept yelling out when it suddenly tweaked (embarrassing when it happened in the library - so many heads suddenly looked up, startled by my shriek) - so had to see an emergency doc who has given me tabs and recommended me to go to A and E on Monday for xrays etc if it doesn't improve. Under lots of pressures anyway at the moment so this is all a bit unwelcome! Oh well, c'est la vie. Thanks for listening - and obviously no belly dancing for ME til naughty knee heals up.

Mis - so pleased to hear "it's " finally fixed.

Vbv - in my thoughts.

Izzie - I love the Moor when it's crunchy - really enjoyed the photos. Take care. Have sent JPs - did you get them?

Dutchy - yes, sorry had to go offline unexpectedly. Do please help me test MSN if you see me online - thanks. Not too hopeful though - just can't understand what's wrong.

Bye for now xxx
