@alex240101,
Hi, Izzie

Hope your TAB gets sorted soon! And take great care of your eyes, please.

Belated congrats on your first year here and all the stupendous stuff you have done for so many, me included. Re yr msg to me, mmmm, I am trying to cope (have been told today I have an indomitable spirit!) but of course it would be much easier if the difficulties centred on me rather than on a beloved member of my family.

Looking back, I've done quite a bit of study in our 3 weeks vacation, including today, had 3 good days out and an overnight stay at a friend's, too, and my very dear daughter has just this minute rung to confirm she is coming to stay on Tuesday for a few days (not seen her since Sept) so life ambles on, thanks. Even resumed JP with the Ozzie Maestro for the time being as you will have seen (will do my best to thrash him on behalf of the girlies but he's good). Uni starts again on Monday which will keep me busy.

Love to all from bitterly cold Lincoln x
Izzie

@alex240101,
Ticker Ticker Timex...

How quickly time goes... tho some days do seem to be a lifetime all of their own! The good times go way too quick.

So glad you had your family and friends with you Alex. Having my friends here... that's easy - there's no pressure and we all kinda mould into one another - we were definitely "cosy" - Chez Izzie is....... petite, shall we say!!!!! But, with FQsis, Tulip et al.... we're just a big family and we just "are" and "do". Gonna miss FQsis... missing her already.

and then there was 1... and 2 dawgs!

@whiteviolet,
Tricia... there you are gal. You sound so much better hun. So pleased that daughter is coming to stay - that will do you the power of good. Go out and do "girl stuff". As for the problems.... well, there's no quick fixes - step out, step in, step out, step in.... little steps, big breaths.

NOW... as for JP... HA..... strangely, the Bosun hasn't sent me one in a few days..... why would that be then <looks at scores> ho ho ho.... now if that wasn't a challenge to the BEAgle... I dunno what is! Wink

Do the gals proud Tricia in JP... and be proud of yourself for turning things round. You are doing GREAT! Very Happy

@Izzie,
DeeDee just waxed me in JP! I am a glutton - will start all over! I get sad when my company leaves. My Mom and Dad are leaving today and I will be sad - I miss them when they go - love having them here.

We had a lovely New Years Eve together and the turnips, black eyed peas and cornbread turned out great. It is an old tradition that my Papaw passed down to us...Turnips for money and blackeyed peas for luck...not that we believe in luck but well - why not - it's tradition!

Having a hard time reading back - hope to get to it soon so I can catch up. Hope you all are doing well.

take care! hugs,
missy

Morning my hearties, another weekend ahead, feels somewhat strange after new years day. A word of warning to the Captain, don't you dare climb onto that roof next week, keep your feet firmly on terra firma!!!
As far as "J/P" is concerned I was waiting for a challenge from you, however can't wait forever so have sent you one instead, need to put you back in your place. Smile

Whiteviolet don't be modest, you know darn well you beat me 9 times out of 10 with your superior wordpower, but I enjoy the challenge.

Mismi good to see you playing "J/P" too, catching all around, but watch that ddxxx, she is a walking dictionary.

You all have a great day while I go and do the chores lined up by Mrs.D for me. Sad

@mismi,
No. 7 Utah beats No. 4 Alabama 31-17 in Sugar Bowl. Utah is the best of the BCS busters. So sorry mismi your boys bit the dust last night. Wink

Hi everyone,
Well, the viewing was yesterday.
It went fairly well.Stacy held it together (with the help of some nerve pills the Dr prescribed).
Jason was there physically, but it was late in the afternoon before he got there mentally.

To my surprise, there must have been 200 kids show up from Kaines school.
I didnt realize that he was that popular in school.Of course, alot of the guys brought their skateboards, because thats what Kaine was into, and he was pretty good with one.

Kaines mom will be escorted up from the prison today, to spend some time with Jason and Kaines body before the funeral.She wont be allowed to stay for the funeral, which I think sucks, but thats the way it goes.
While I was at the viewing last night, a friend of mine from the fire dept showed up.
He was there to make arrangements to bury his dad, who died Sunday.
I didnt know about that, so I have to go back to the funeral home after we bury Kaine to be there for him.
This is going to be a long day I think.

And then to top off the day, Kerry (Stacy's neice) had a miscarriage yesterday.
I'm beginning to think her family is cursed somehow.

I just got back from a fire run.
We had a house fire this morning.
Fortunately, there was nobody home, but the house couldnt be saved.

Anyway, I gott jump in the shower and get ready to go.
Stacy has already gone to the funeral home to be with Jason.
BTW, I have printed out all of your notes of condolence for Jason.
He read them last night and told me to tell all of you thank you for your prayers.

I will talk to all of you later.

Oh MM I'm so very sorry to read this. Thanks to RH for leaving the trail.

@alex240101,
Downstairs Chez Iz nearly clean - HA...upstairs... sheets and sheets and sheets and duvets and towels. Sometime... not today tho. New Years Resolution - give the washing machine a break.

errrrrrrrrrrrrrr... New Years Resolutions... not really - keep the fight for the right methinks and believe in me. Give and receive with thanks. That'll do nicely.

Father Christmas gave me some lovely purple fluffy gloves - driving, well, I will be off driving for a while when I'm in the cast - so, will just keep on steering at the helm for the time being. HA!

Dinner......... ohhhhhhhhh... that's the food thing then. Nah... not a clue. It was so lovely having FQsis cooking for a coupla days and being spoiled with her home cooking. K cleaned the fireplace before he left and brought logs in for me. Little things - was a treat. The dishwasher had a true workout and is looking very healthy. Was very lovely having a house full to the brim and flowing with love.

Hope you are all straight too. Know you will have a good year - "good", it's part of you.

Hey there, sister Iz and Mr. Alex! Smooches for both of you.

I been reading back and loving the pics! OMG, Izzie .... looks like you had the perfect New Years Eve! S-w-e-e-t!

And speaking of sweet. Alex, how'd you get so sweet, anyhow? Your wife is a lucky lady.

School is back in full force beginning Monday. I'm ready! Imagine that! Razz

Ya know .... I have decided that everyone on the ship is something of an angel. So many of you that are on here daily, eagerly step up to the plate when someone is hurting. No matter how big or how small that hurt is. I suspect that you probably have no idea, really, how many times you have made someone's life better. Angels. Pure gifts. Gifts with no strings. It's funny how giving of yourself can even make your own hurts, seem less. I think that perhaps, for myself, working with the amount of abused women that I have ...... has been one of my own biggest healing factors. Of course, healing is an ongoing thing sometimes. Anyhow, those are my thoughts on this cold, winter, morning. I just wanted to say thank you for all you guys do for everyone on A2K. I am proud to know you!

Wishing everyone a great day! A great weekend! Just filled with laughter and love....and life. Live-Laugh-Love. Just like on the plaque that I see hanging on my wall. That will always make me smile! Always soften the darkest of days.

Ohhhhhh....and since we are all angels, in our own rights, I made this....so you don't forget...that even "I" can be an angel (at times.) Razz

Good morning all,
Things are starting to return to normal here.
Stacy is still upset about Kaines death, and the people she works really arent helping.
She told me last night that everyone keeps saying something to her about it, and it is really upsetting her.

I told her they dont mean any harm, and she needs to politely tell them that she isnt ready to talk about it yet but that she appreciates their concern.

I really think that reading all of your notes to her, after she posted, really helped her.
I know she is going to take a long time to get over it, beause she considered Kaine one of her own kids.

Anyway, on to happier stuff.
I hope everyone had a happy new year.
Mine was as good as could be expected.
I watched the Rose Parade, then spent the day watching football.
I go back to work monday, after being off since Dec 23.
I need to go back to work because it will allow me to take my mind off of things.

So, I will talk to you all later, and will let you know how things go.
Izzie

@mysteryman,
Hey there J

Yep... folk won't know what to say or how to say it to Stacy - she will get the sublime to the ridiculous, over sensitive or completely tactless - and a lot of people who will just be imagining what she must be feeling like who just want to say "something", especially those with kids of their own. Until Stacy is ready - well, she is protecting herself right now from not wishing to discuss Kaine with them. You are right - they don't mean any harm - it's hard to know the right thing to say or do.

I'm glad you are going back to work - normality etc just... happens. It has to. Everyone has to deal with what's happened in their own way.

You just take care truckin' and jump back onboard as and when you are able or wish to hun. Know that we'll be thinking of you and Stacy, Jason and Cody.

'Til then - hugs to you and Stacy - and lots of love. x
