@Dutchy,
Good morning Izzie. Looking up, good evening Dutchy. Hello mismi, justbrooke, tryagain and crew.
Izzie. That was a wild story....and more importantly, I am glad you received good results. A nice way to start my day.
House smells piney. We made it through our annual tree arguement. Many holes in thumb from stringing popcorn. The cardinals are already eyeing it.
Was informed last night, that, it is a birthday "week". If there is such a thing as reincarnation, then......
Mismi. Did you ever find the kids ball?
Justbrooke. Michael Collins is a good whiskey. May I have two fingers worth, on the rocks please?
Hoping to return tonight. Hoping.
mismi

@alex240101,
Izzie! That is terrifying! But so thankful that there was no malignancy! How is the river today? Hope it has not crept up any more.

The boys friend is fine. He is a hearty little fellow and has bounced back beautifully. Back over at the house already - throwing my poor wee ones around like they were stuffed animals (he's twice their size) They deal with him rather gracously I think. They have known each other their whole lives...he is like my child - he used to call me Momma when he was little - apparently it is interchangeable depending on whose house your at - that mom becomes your mom! So funny! Thanks for asking Izzie.

The concert was great Izzie...it was over quickly. But it was wonderful - great big fun! Last night we turned on the Bare Naked Ladies Christmas CD and decorated the tree (Baileys in hot chocolate helped a lot) Then the prof took me out to party! It was so much fun. We have another one Sunday afternoon - won't be as much fun (at the bosses house - a wee bit stiff....eeeee) But the Holiday seas0n is in full swing at our house! The boys were up at the crack of dawn and after I got rid of the fuzzy tongue and head feeling (darn drinking - not enough water) I made pancakes and bacon and I let them have coffee - seriously mostly milk - but they think they are so growny drinking out of their Christmas Spode coffee cups! Cutey petooties.

Brooke - so glad tests are done and you can enjoy your holidays! I am sure you did great! Your home is beautiful. So cozy and decorated so happily.

Alex - I found the ball - it was at the bottom of the driveway - of course Tryst was saying it was a scale...but the thing is such a strange shape - truly hard to stand on it and stay still to see if it will confirm the 0 - 200 lb in 10 sec theory...(heh heh).
Sorry about your finger - you should have worn a thimble...helps tremendously!

So Alex - the double jointed thing...seriously - intrigued.

I am cleaning and baking today - in much the matronly mode me thinks.

hoping you are all having a great weekend...see you soon!
xxoo

@Izzie,
Wow Izzie! I knew it was raining and there was alerts but didn't think you would get stuck! Glad you got home safe and well!

Thank-you crew for being just you. Try you always keep my spirits high when I read your posts X. Mismi, yep you are right life just gets hard, but there are times when it's happier! My daughter had a good School report, ended up crying as I wished I could share it, so ended up ringing Mum! Times must be hard!

Ok must go and start the tea!

X

Holy Shmoly, Miss Izz! Thank God you got through that mess last night! Flood waters are absolutely nothing to take lightly! The only death in Findlays flood of 2007, was a man that got caught up in it and got out of his car to try and get to safety. Water was just too swift. You always have to remember that just 6 inches of moving water can knock you off your feet. Thinking about you and hoping the rain has let up.

Has anyone talked to Izzie, yet today? I see she hasn't posted for about 14 hours. And we all know she doesn't sleep very long. Worried!

Alex ....You're more than welcome to have some of my Michael Collins! I think I drank a wee bit too much of it last night though. It turned me into a pile of giggles!

Hey Tulip .... Hey Miss .....glad to see you both on ship! Enjoy your weekend. I imagine everyone has lots to do before Christmas! I'm just in a major house clean mode today.

To everyone else ..... Stay safe and enjoy your day whatever you might be doing. HUGS!

PS- Oh yeah, almost forgot. I talked to a friend of mine in Fargo, ND a little bit-a-go. Not sure if we have anyone here that lives in that area but they are under blizzard warnings. Stay warm and safe if you are! Oh...and DO NOT send it on to Ohio!

Toodles!
Izzie

@JustBrooke,
Hey Crew...

OH... I’M HERE... ALL IS OK. It finally stopped raining... it’s on and off now and the river has gone down a lot " up down, up down " it was sooooooooo high last nite. Had unexpected visitors here since lunchtime... so been unable to get online " my bro-K " he’s visiting Devon for the weekend whilst FQsis visits with her family sister in London, who has just had a baby " very exciting times for them and FQsis so happy to be an aunty again. Haven’t stopped talking for about 5 hours " am exhausted now!!!!!
Gosh, what a nite last nite!!!!!! Certainly one to remember.

I finally figured out my age too........ oh my gosh... so, we went to this little bistro pub place for a meal... a bunch of 35-45's gals - 10 of us - little raucous, naughty secret santa (ack) and had some hoooleyhoooley. (some internal political stuff going on - can't be doing with that so stepped back from the nonsense there, sheeeeeeeesh, outta work time) - then, it was up the road to have a bit of a dance. Now, in my day, that meant, big tacky lights, bit of Abba and dancing queen. Well, OMG - kids who were barely out of their nappies (diapers), falling all over the place where you couldn't even stand... and a live band - which I would absolutely LOVE ordinarily - but was so loud you couldn't hear anything and could only feel the thud of the music. Nowhere to dance at all and the place smelled really icky.

GOSH - HOW OLD AM I??????????????? Well, you just had to laugh... then as the kids started falling over... at the very back of the place were some nice sofas and tables - so we commandeered them - which was actually really good and not quite so THUDDY - then I saw someone I knew and his bro - who normally when I see (the owner of the fishing place where R goes) I would talk to no problem, and he's really lovely, I mean lovely, lovely ... but I just couldn't make myself go and talk to him in that setting - oooh, gives me the heeby jeebies even thinking about it. Now, seeing him when my face isn't covered in slap, when I’m wearing pink polka dot wellies, fleece and jeans, outside in the open or the fishing hut - NO PROBS....we talk for ages... indoors in a bar where I didn't have a comfort zone... terrible. I know he saw me and I think he knows I saw him.... but I'm such a wuss - gosh, then my DENTIST showed up... man, no way was I going to have a talk with him. I'm so not used to going out in these social situations now!!!! Ugh. Quite ridiculous really. Much prefer just a few folk around - more intimate.

I can go meet people who I have talked to on the www ... and have more comfort and trust doing that than yabbering to folk in a bar that I know. Weird! I think it's that small-town mentality thing too... I keep people here at such a distance now " real bad trust issues with the past here haunting my every move " strange " people here have no idea who I am " not a clue.

Anyhoo... a girlfriend showed up today too and we yabbered for a couple hours " HA " she’s wants me do a photo exhibition " HA " we did laugh some. Bless her. So, have achieved absolutely nothing today " except mucho heartwarming from seeing two close friends.

BEAgle... happy to see you here... thanku... hope the rains continue for you " fruit picz?????? x

Alex " ohhhhhh cardinals popcorn picking pic.... please please. X

Babbling " so pleased all the exams are now over and you can relax "

Missy " oh I bet you sounded like an angel singing " glad it went well and that the visiting big-little fella is visiting again. Boys will be boys " so good that he is healing well. X

Tulip " good on S-girl with her report " would love to read it with you over a cuppa girl. Will call you tomorrow. X

BLUE - hugs to yoooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooo love xox

Thanku all for your support again " I am tres happy about the good biop results " my very visible scar is a wonderful thing to see " good news which I can see every day. I think I may ask if I can have a PINK cast for my foot after Christmas " how coco would that be a? HA!

Have a happy weekend one and all " will be here throughout the nite so hope y’all will jump onboard when you’re around.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Quiet Sunday here with a Christmas bbq and drinks at friend's place this afternoon.

@mismi,
To answer your question mismi:
I did not have my new camera to take photographs of beautiful, snowy, landscapes. For making the mistake of forgetting my camera I stated: "If I were double jointed......".....I'd kick myself in the arse.
Just an expression.
Have a nice day.

I wonder what adventures our very own Indiana Jones, aka Izzie is getting up to today! (Ok! Now I see your post).

I got all the news from the BBC.com, so you choose the night of the worst storm for 50 years to go drive across the moors. Sheesh!

Ps. Glad your medical news was on better side of good.

Oh Brooke, the lights on your ‘Y’ shaped staircase would not look outta place with Scarlett O'Hara and Gone with the wind.

It kinda made me wish I had bought a two story trailer.

Tulip honey, the truth of the matter is; the closer you are to ground zero, the more you feel but the less you see. It’s a woods and trees sorta thing. You can’t change the past, but you can influence the future by what you do today. There will always be wonderful people here who will laugh and cry with you.

Missy, how very kind of you to show concern for my wellbeing; you are right working nights and weekends can get a bit much, but the job of a lighthouse keeper is never easy; except in the daytime when there is nothing to do except fish!

I will take your advice and take a vacation, prolly at the Ramada Inn Tuscaloosa as it’s only about five miles from the University of Alabama.

Or I might go for The Cypress Inn, Rice Mine Rd N. This is seriously one of the coolest places and not because of the food (GREAT fried oysters) but because of the location!!! It sits right along the Black Warrior River.

However, the Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa Grand Ave, Hoover is looking good and not just because it has the third longest golf course in the world you understand.

For all the rest of you guys; if the only tool you have is a hammer, make sure all your problems resemble nails!

You would not be sorry if you went there. Fabulous place. I would go even if I didn't golf. B-yoo-ti-ful.

Izzy - he sounds lovely - clubs are hard places to talk to folks with a real face on for some reason - you are just too down to earth - so glad you met at a place you could really talk...sounds like fun!

Oh my.....that sounds wonderful, Sis! We will sit on those steps and drink Bailey's , ya know. When I have my grad party, if not before! It's hard to tell where I will end up job wise when I graduate...but one thing for sure....it will require a move. (to somewhere) Funny enough, today I received my first introduction letter in the mail. It was from Standford Grad School of Business. They are building a new facility. The letter said that they expect it to be completed around the time I am expected to graduate. Or a year before. In the 2010 - 2011 time frame. So while it would be sort of nice going into a new facility with topnotch technology and anticipated high growth....it's much too early for me to spin my head in any direction. And not sure about moving to CA, either. I'm still waiting on Harvard's letter. Razz If I ever got that, I'd probably not be able to pack fast enough. Their students are at the top of the field. I think they only accept something like 5-6% of the ones that apply for grad school.

Try .... I am wondering what a trailer with a 2nd story would look like!

Oy! My ass is dragging today. I woke up at 7 and said "uh-uh." Rolled over and went back to sleep and didn't wake up again till 9:30. Maybe I got too much sleep. It feels like I didn't get enough.

Izzie, that girl has some awesome lungs on her! Looking forward to hearing more.

~ Hugs the crew. Hope everyone had a great day!

Later Taters!
xoxo
