He did NOT have to have stitches! Thankfully because it is in the top of his head they just glued it together. He is fine and quite happy that they did not have to stick him with a needle! Thanks guys...hope you are resting Izzie

@Izzie,
I am so glad you slept! I know being late is frustrating too...but I am so glad you slept!

This has been a stinky morning. I am having to readjust my attitude. The boys teachers asked them to wear gloves and tobagans because it MIGHT (MIGHT being a huge word - because this is afterall - Alabama) snow and she wanted them to be ready - they told me this FIVE MINUTES before I was to take them to the bus stop. So I am running around here looking for tobagans and gloves (afterall - this is Alabama - who wears those things?) and finally found them....as I am backing down my mountain of a driveway I see the boys new football - rolling, rolling, rolling down the hill...and I hear screaming and wailing from them because they are scared someone will run over it and pop it if it lands in the street. I told them they should have put it in the ball bin and went on to the bus stop. More wailing. I knew that ball would roll over to the neighbors yard and be waiting there...or land in the bushes. No problem - and it may teach them to put their stuff where it belongs.

So I get to the bus stop and am trying to get them onto the bus dry (it's gullywashing here) and I step in a massive mud puddle - up to my ankle...cold, COLD water. They get on - I go home and as I get home I do not see the ball at the bottom of the hill, nor is it in the neighbors yard, nor is it in the bushes - I tell you I LOOKED. And a horrible realization came to me....it is raining so hard and we have a fast moving stream of water running along the street now - oh - my - giddy - aunt - All I could think is that ball landed in the stream - so I follow the stream praying that the gutter has a small little opening into the drain pipe so the ball will not have gone down the pipe. It's not there. And there is a HUGE opeing plenty big for a football to go down. I feel sick and sorry and regret not stopping and getting it.

So I am getting all teary about what the boys are going to say when they get home and how sad they will be...I am soak and wet with a muddy foot and I turned into the driveway and sitting right next to the driveway on a clump of pine straw - is the football. How did I miss that? And my heart is lightened. And I am sorry I was so cranky about getting the tobagans and gloves out. And I wish I could do it ALLLLLL over again.

Growing up is hard stuff.

Love y'all - have a good day.

@mismi,
see what I mean? I spelled toboggan wrong - and I think a toboggan is a sled...is there such a thing as a toboggan cap ? I am thinking WAY too much about this.

@Izzie,
Not such a bad day at all Izzie...lot of spinning of the wheels but such is life! Sounds like that play was wonderful - I am so glad!

I hope you get all you need to done. We are singing in the Messiah at my church tonight - the Prof and I - so I won't be around until much later.

I hope you all have a great evening - or day!

smooch, smooch

@mismi,
Oh girlie - I would so love to hear you and the Professor. You know, when I heard your voice on the phone, it was so husky....... what I would call a kinda smouldering voice - I bet you sing so wonderfully. How lovely you and Prof sing together - I think that must be very beautiful to do that with someone who you love - especially a vocal with so much passion - one of the nicest things. ENJOY IT MIS. I would love to post the kidlets singing... they were so good - we are still figuring out the permissions from parents right now and have to ensure anything on our website has parental consent.

They were all so proud of themselves - we were all crying at one of the songs, the wee gal sang "As Long As He Needs Me" - she's 10, and was perfect - all the emotion and stood on a stage on her own in front of a massive audience. So much cheering after... just wonderful. Bless her heart. The boys too..... oh, little boys singing - you're heart just wants to burst out of your chest.

Busy day tomorrow - it's the "work do" tomorrow evening - I designated myself as the driver - then I shouldn't get into too much trouble. Being honest, not looking forward to it a whole heap... but... you know... gotta make the effort. First "occasion" in a year.... gonna be strange! Ack... best not think about it. I'll be fine - I think. Razz

Greetings to all.
Good to see you back up to speed Izzie, I hope all is well in Devon Town.

I was in trouble, I forgot Missy’s birthday. She was really angry. She told me "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in less than 10 seconds.
AND IT BETTER BE THERE!!

Boy; what a sexy sultry voice she has.
The next morning I got up real early and went in search for the perfect gift to meet her specifications. When Missy woke up she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway, right next to a clump of pine straw.

She put on her robe and ran out to the driveway and excitedly opened it, and found a brand new bathroom scale. Hope she gets a kick outta it.

I don’t know why she thought it was a football! I didn’t hang around to see her reaction. But I said; if you like it, sing the Messiah…I’m listening!

Glued heads, little Mr Mauve running for his life, choirs, husky voices, there's a bigger story in there somewhere. Much bigger.

@ehBeth,
Hi crew, very little time today, oh so busy. DDXX we've had the best soaking rains for years overnight and today, rain still steadily falling and will transform garden entirely. Hope it is heading your way, keeping fingers crossed.
