@Dutchy,
Oh my gosh... I have just laughed!
You guys are just amazing. Tulip... love you girl... thanku!
Those Zorba's were brilliant - all 3 of them... so needed that!
Well, I don't know what to say - you're all just wonderful folk and I'm so glad to be here with y'all.
Keeping on sailing... wherever me and mine are heading... we'll get there with this crew. Thanks folksies.
So how is everyone today? Can see a BlueBoy and a Bosun are having a little titter to themselves..... think I need to keep an eye on you two mischief makers a?
Lovin y'all. x
@Izzie,
Hi Captain, pleased we've made you smile, here's some hugs and xxx's, you need them as well.
@Dutchy,
Pears.
Pears are usually considered to be a good thing, and when it comes to heart health, it's better to be a pear-shaped woman than an apple.
Going all pear-shaped means a bad thing in some cultures.
It's not pear-shaped to be pear-shaped.
So many odd things out there. Big and little, lots of odd.
@Dutchy,
Good morning all - good to see you are smiling Izzieliz. ((xx)) Bit colder here today but at least some rain. Papa's birthday today - 82 - and I don't have to worry about making excuses for me to do the driving as he fully admits he feels he is not capable anymore - bless him. His sister rang this morning from Queensland and she is 86 and still has all her marbles and in good health. Morning to all the crew out there.
@deedeexx,
Hey Indeedee...
Very Happy Birthday to PaPa - hope you all have a lovely day.
Bless him. x
Hi Lzzie, good to see you chuckle, and you are right; Tulip is amazing, what with her most becoming hair style an all.
Dutchy’s funny story reminds me of the last time we met…
On the outskirts of an OZ town, there was a huge nut tree by the cemetery fence. One day two boys filled up a bucket with nuts and sat down by the tree, out of sight, and began dividing the nuts.
"One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me," said one boy. The bucket was so full, several rolled out toward the fence.
Cycling down the road by the cemetery came Try. As he passed, he thought he heard voices from inside the cemetery. He slowed down to investigate. Sure enough, he heard, "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me."
He knew what it was. "Oh my," he shuddered. "It's Satan and St. Peter dividing the souls at the cemetery."
Try cycled down the road as fast as he could and found Dutchy hobbling along with a huge basket of melons. "Come here quick," said Try. "You won't believe what I heard. Satan and St. Peter are down at the cemetery dividing the souls."
Dutchy said, "Shoo, you brat, can't you see I'm finding it hard to walk as it is." But after several pleas, Dutchy hobbled to the cemetery.
Standing by the fence, they heard, "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me."
Dutchy whispered, "Try, you've been telling the truth for once. Let's find out if we can see the devil himself." Shivering with fear, they peered through the fence, but they were still unable to see anything. Dutchy and Try gripped the wrought-iron bars of the fence tighter and tighter as they tried to get a glimpse of Satan.
At last they heard, "One for you, one for me, and one last one for you. That's all. Now let's go get those nuts by the fence, and we'll be done."
They say Dutchy made it back to town five minutes before Try!
Oh Bethie, how right you are…
'Pear-shaped' is an invaluable expression not yet in wide US usage: a situation goes pear-shaped when it goes wrong; from an ideal -- or idealised -- sphere it sags into something pear-shaped.
Eg, Q: How's your season going Mr Wenger? A: Pear-shaped. Or: How's the presidency, Mr Bush, since shoe-horning buddies into the Supreme Court, admitting the entire premise for going to war was wrong (whatever), and etc and so on and so forthing? A: What? Rice: Pear-shaped.
Mornin’ Dee Dee; Happy birthday to Papa!
@Tryagain,
You are completely nutty boy!
was laughing when Mis asked about "butts"
we have water butts, compost butts, whiskey butts... but but but but but...
and
pearshaped is a term used often here.
this is pear shaped... but this is beautiful "odd" - it was just about to drop... looks like a teardrop...
good to see you Blue - TWONK!
@Tryagain,
Thanks for the birthday wishes Izzieliz and Try. Mamas birthday on Saturday so sis and I and my mama's sis will get together for a luncheon to celebrate both birthdays together. Try, I don't know where you get all these stories from - you are a card!
@deedeexx,
Hope everyone is fine for now, and happy birthday Deedeex. Have fun at the luncheon. Wow all this time I thought Try was blue, but he does make for a great card
@bigredsshop,
Hey BigRed! Good to see you. Yes - Try is something else. Certainly entertaining - I guess we'll just have to keep him around!
I had an interview yesterday for an instructional aid at the school. I hope I get it...I get paid all year around for 9 mos. of work - just like a teacher. That would be great. We will see. I have a lot to do today.
Thinking of all you sweet folks. Hope you all have a good day!
hugs,
mis
@mismi,
Midnight downunder, the Eagle is calling it a day, good night a2k world.
A very good morning to all my dear sweet friends. Oh, and A2K too.
G’night Dutchy "
G’day to Missy and Alex "
Good luck with the job application Missy; I won't put in a good word with the Superintendent…..that way you will be a shoein!
No, seriously; happy birthday to Dee Dee’s Ma, and happy unbirthdays to the rest of the crew. As regards the card; I hope it’s a birthday card!
Good to see you Red; the reason I am looking blue is because (and not a word to the school):
Missy wanted to go ice fishing. She'd read about my poor efforts and finally, after getting all the necessary items together, she made for the nearest frozen area.
After positioning her footstool, she started to make a circular cut in the ice. Suddenly, from the sky, a voice boomed, "There are no fish under the ice!"
Startled, Missy moved further down the ice and began to cut yet another hole. Again, from the heavens, the voice bellowed, "There are no fish under the ice!"
Missy, now quite worried, moved way down to the opposite end of the ice, sat up her stool, and tried again to cut her hole. The voice came once more, "There are no fish under the ice!"
She stopped, looked skyward, and said, "Is that you, Lord?"
The voice replied, "No, I’m the manager of this ice rink!"
I hear she has taken up 10 pin bowling….but that’s a whole other story.
May your summers be pleasing, your winters mild and I hope you still feel joy in the smile of a child….
@Tryagain,
I just thought it was a really big ice fishing house. Sue me.
As far as bowling is concerned I do much better getting the beer to my mouth than the ball to the pins....can you say gutterball? (lots and lots)
So happy to have you around Try. Lifts my spirits greatly.
Nitey Nite Dutchy - rest well!
Roll call...where's everybody today?

funny 'ole thing that Blue - he has such a cheeky smile a?
Alex, BEAgle, Wandel and Blue went out sailing, when it began to storm. Their boat was wrecked by the storm, and washed up on a deserted Island. They started to walk along the beach and found a bottle.
BEAgle picked the bottle up and began rubbing the sand off, when all of a sudden, a genie popped out. The Genie said "Since you have released me from the bottle, I will grant each of you one wish.”
BEAgle said, "I really miss my wife and grandchildren. I wish I were back home in Oz."
Poof! He was gone.
Alex said, "This is so great! I wish I were back in my house with a good hot meal to eat."
Poof! He was gone, too!
Wandel looked at the genie and said "I wish I was back in Chi-town"
Poof! He was gone, too!
BLUE looked around with a devilish grin and said,
"You know, it's lonely around here, I really miss those 3 guys. I wish they were still here!"
Later crew!
@Izzie,
Clever story, Izzie. I think I will have nightmares tonight!
@wandeljw,
Hi, all. I've missed you! What have you all been up to? What have I missed? Am recovering from this whatever it is, thank goodness. Just feel tired. I've just been reading this last page - you guys are a bunch of 'yucksters'!

Ugh, gotta go lie down. Maybe I'll be back later.
@devriesj,
Good morning folks - unexpected day off for me from babysitting - now running around like a chook with its head cut off wondering what to do first. Hope everyone is well.
