@djjd62,
There is only so much rain I can handle myself dj. Hope you all see the sun soon.

Baseball over - hot and dusty - yuck! Actually was wishing for rain this afternoon. G-baby slugged the ball so well. J and S - well - very hard to hit when the little pitcher is not getting it over the plate. It will get better. We were warned. Takes a while to get used to it when you leave the pitching machine behind.

Try...we like people to think it is horrible down here - keeps it less populated and lets us have it alllllll to ourselves. We are a backwards lot down here in Shelby County - and we like it that way. Make fun of us all you want. Wink

Throat is a little dry and I may be a little congested from being out there...but all in all - feeling much better - thank you Izzie.

HUGS ALL!

@mismi,
Hi, all. Had to get up for a little while. Sicka lyin' around like third base with a water bottle on me. I'm with you, dj, just plain sick of the rain. Not complainin' 'cause I know it's worse in Texas, but it's a bit of a downer.
Just came to read the yabberin' & say hi.
Try, you make me Very Happy & Laughing
Glad you had a great trip, wv. Hope that cold goes away real soon, mis-. Thing 1 is all sniffles & coughing here now AFTER her ear infection. Seems a cold is going around school. Feeling ugh, but sick of lying about!

Thanks for mentioning chicago,djjd.

I have lived in Chicago for fifty years. I do not remember having had three days of non-stop rain. That is what we had this time. Major roads in the Chicago area were flooded (especially roads near a river). I live near a road called River Road because it runs along the Des Plaines river. Today it was more of a river than a road.

Today is heritage day, so I have gone indigenous and to all Native American A2K’ers I say:

Cherokee: Os-da-su-na-le
Cheyenne: Pévevóona'o
Choctaw: Onnahinli pvt achukma
Muskogee: Hettv heren ocvs

Good morning to the rest of you.

Hey Missy, I am sure you be knowing I like my country cousins, I’m just funnin’ widyer. Say, if you ever hitch your burro and head north into Tuscaloosa County, do come visit at the Lakeview Country Club; it’s on the 216 you can’t miss it, it is just opposite the million dollar lake.

BTW: Sorry about the rain dance!

@Tryagain,
Well Try - that 's Bama country and we do avoid that like the plague. We are Tennessee fans. Need I say more? But - if we do happen to get Maggie (mule) hitched up - then we may. Thanks for the invite cousin.

You know my great grandaddy was full Cherokee. Glad to see you paying homage. Really - I don't mind the rain. We needed it...as long as it stops before we get into a mess like Chicago. You have heap big powerful magic Try. Should try to tone that down a bit eh?

Verbi ..... I think that Try loves confusing us. Sometimes I feel like he has put my brain in a blender and turned it on high! Laughing But that's why I adore him. Wink Keeps me on my toes.

Can't stay....just wanted to jump on and spread a little love! Hugs abound!

First of all I wanted to say to y’all that I hope everyone is drying up " so very sorry that you are all having such a rough time of it with the weather stakes " my thoughts are with you and especially the folks who have lost so much. Vegemite " did you go to the little company? I’m hoping so " something will come your way my young friend, and when it does, it will be your time to shine. Just keep your faith and believe in you. You are such a clever young lady, well educated, you are strong hun and you have a big heart " don’t forget any of it " keep positive. It will happen.

Good to see you, verb-! And did you say you've got a 'small' job? Well, that is a start! Hoping & praying for bigger & better things to come your way.
Sorry 'bout those with all the rain & water trouble! Hope it dries up soon & things get back to normal. Saying prayers for those hit hard in Texas & all.

@devriesj,
Heylo! I am about to call it a night believe it or not. I got G-baby's room in amazing order. Took out several baby toys and put them downstairs to go in a garage sale I will have in October. Good toys - with all of the pieces. Will be great for someone to give for Christmas - they are in great shape! I just walk by his room and stand there and look at it. I know - pitiful...but it is SO clean.

The twins are next...theirs is not as bad. I have been getting rid of their stuff - well - for quite some time!

Thanks Brooke, thanks White Vi...waiting for Verby and I will pull it again. You are all so sweet...blessed to know you crew!

Anyway...How was your day guys? I am wiped. I am going to bed here soon. Just not quite fully recovered...though I feel SO much better - just poop out rather quickly.

Hugs to you all...

Hiya watha, or as the locals say:

Good morning my lovelies, how are you today; scintillating I hope.

In an effort to eliminate confusion in my scribbling, may I say, half my writing is ninety percent mental.

Just one more thing: I would also be grateful if I could beg your indulgence to once and for all place on record the fact that, I love Alabama. Why I practically grew up in Phoenix.

Just one more, then no more one more: I've never had major knee surgery on any other part of my body; and to Dutchy I say, traditionally, most of Australia's imports come from overseas!

The Song unfolds a legend of Hiawatha - Poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow…(Extract)

By the shores of Gitche Gumee,
By the shining Big-Sea-Water,
Stood the wigwam of Nokomis,
Daughter of the Moon, Nokomis.
Dark behind it rose the forest,
Rose the black and gloomy pine-trees,
Rose the firs with cones upon them;
Bright before it beat the water,
Beat the clear and sunny water,
Beat the shining Big-Sea-Water

French smooches…
