Good morning!

Coming onboard is always a smile maker. So many lovelies around here!

First of all and most importantly in my list of "news" is that Noah has started to respond to the 2nd set of medications. Not to the degree they need him to yet.....but his heartrate is moving in the right direction at least. That just puts a few more petals of hope in the basket! We'll take all we can get. So that's GOOD news on the little angel.

Also...I have been SO busy! Crazy busy! Been out of town a ton! And that's not likely to change over the next couple of weeks. Much to wrap up job wise before school starts and I'm back to student status full-time. Add that to spending as much time as I can at the hospital and there's just not too much left. Makes me nuts! But hey, I'm sorta already that way, eh? Drunk

Izzie ...... Soooooo glad your trip was wonderful! I hope you feel a new sense of calmness that will carry with you every day now that you are back home again. When the doo-doo starts to pile on, just think of JPB, RH, and Bubba and family. Walk back into that little memory capsule where everything is serene. Can't wait to see pics!

Dev ..... my dear friend. I think you are an amazing strong person. Tough times that you have been through, though. Just know how much you are loved around here.....and everywhere for that matter. You are healing. That healing process is full of highs and lows. Of days to cry. And of days to laugh. The down days are just naturally a part of the equation. Don't fight em'. Let your day slide through it and relish in the fact that tomorrow is a new day. But every day has hope. No matter it's low.

I have to show you how much my puppy has grown! Shocked I took him in for his next set of shots last week and the vet scolded me for feeding him too much. His weight had gone from 12 pounds to almost 23. Baaaaaad Mommy! Embarrassed He's not fat. He's just a growing, starving all the time, puppy! Both pics taken out on the back deck. Hard to get him to stay still long enough to get pics though! He's 3 1/2 months old now.

The picture below is one of his "doofus" looks. I was talking to him and he was trying to figure out what the heck I was saying!

http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn50/brookesphotos27/1.jpg

My dad and bro are outside cutting down a couple of trees that need to come down. So I have to get back outdoors. I just wanted to touch base and let you know I'm still around. So NO worries when I am gone for lil bits!

Busy or not.......you are all on my mind and I love you bunches and bunches!!

Later Taters!

@Izzie,
K " so I am back in Britain having had the most amazing time. Now to bore you with all the photos if you wish to look " or anyone thinking about going to Devil’s Den or Beaver Lake " this will give you an idea " tho mind, I am into snapping shot " so there are loads. Scroll on down quick if not into waterfalls.

Written whilst we were there:
So today we had a busy day. Woke up to find deer beside the cabin…just sauntering on past " finally got the little fella up and about " he was very tired " and packed the car up again and off we went. Got to the visitor centre….fun and games…credit card declined again. So… very helpful lady took pity on us and called the UK " sorted " off we went " trekking the Devil’s Den trail. So, there was meant to be a waterfall " they had 5” rain over the weekend " but nope…. just a trickle. Still mighty purty tho. It was a tough ‘ole climb (well, for me it was) but worth every step " stunning scenery, limestone caverns and a blue tailed lizard with a gold face!!!! Naturally, we got a little lost….but we found the trail and got back to the car. Then had to go back to the Visitor Centre coz, being as organized as I am, could not find any of the maps I had printed off, telephone number or address of the cabin we were going to at Beaver Lake. Very helpful lady again wished us well after they let me use the internet to call up my email " and…. we typed in the address in DrusillaGPS and she got us to Beaver Lake. Good drive " found the new cabin " NOW " when it said very secluded cabin in 17 acres " they weren’t joking. This place is down a long dirt track in the boonies " but just fab. As you get out the car you could think you were at a little Austrian Chalet " except it is hot. Nice temp tho " around 80-85. Were greeted by the dogs…. Walked in and perfect. Went for a walk to the lake and the noise all around was amazing. Found the canoes and dock " beautiful lake. Met the owner " she came to shake my hand " HA " gave her a big hug " then little fella and I went canoeing. Now…… it would have been coco if the lake wasn’t quite so high! Apparently they have had loads of rain in the spring " the lake is incredibly high " to the extent of many trees being half under water……. This of course meant " webs. As we got in the canoe (which the nice lady had de-spidered for us " and I pushed off heading for the …..trees/reeds " screams and hollers started as we were heading for the webs. Know how he felt " but also knew I didn’t want to be tipped out " it was like Laurel and Hardy. Calmed him down and off we went " had a little paddle " THEN " the speed boat decided to go past " and little fella starts paddling so we are side on to the ripples…….. at which stagehe was pahincking again and I started hollering at him. My worst nightmare (other than spiders) is being in deep water (should be used to that by now a?). Doesn’t matter how strong a swimmer I am " it’s the fact that I dunno what’s underneath me " and I then crap myself " so I did NOT want to be capsizing (plus I had my camera with me). So….we get back to shore " will he let me go to shore and past the trees " NO CHANCE " so we manouvered alongside the dock and I clambered up and tied the canoe to the railings. We shopped, then found the Thorncrown Chapel…. OMGosh " what a place…. Just too stunning for words. Peaceful " calm " can’t really describe it " kinda takes your breath away.

Came back to the cabin " then I discovered I was a not a big and brave as I thought I was. I tried to go outside…….mind " this is in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of secluded woods…the noise is so loud, like being in a rainforest " and everywhere you look " there are spiders. Well, I couldn’t do it. I’ve achieved a lot this trip " but nope, not that, I couldn’t go out in the dark with all those things out there. Hey ho. Ima wus " but that’s OK.

Slept for 9 hours " was exhausted " got up " went canoeing…. All was going well til I looked behind me and saw the spider in the back….. I kept quiet and tried not to think about it….. then little fella starts with the screams " one right next to him. So I had to get him from the front of the canoe to half way down without tipping us (he was in panic mode) and we went back to the dock. K " no more canoe. Did that! It was gorgeous " but it’s no good if he’s scared.

Went into Eureka Springs to look for an internet café… could we find one " no chance. Nice town tho " quiet old and western " but quite commercialized too. Lotsa tourist shops. Would have liked to have wondered round there but ran out of time.

Saw fab humming birds " oh they are so lovely " reminded me of California.

So lying here in my lovely bed tonite " shoulder has gone kaput tonite…. Not so good. So excited about seeing JPB, Eva and RH tomorrow.

It isn’t possible to capture the beauty of this place. Inside " it is is peaceful, cool, calming. It has an aura " when you walk in " you just feel at peace and surrounded by nature.

The design reminds me of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, of whom I’m a mighty big fan " and I came here to capture the design of it in my head…. yet, strangely, went away with far more than I arrived with, inside. It really was a highlight of the holiday and something neither I, nor the little fella, will ever forget.

@Izzie,
Good morning.
Wonderful pictures. Just wonderful. I heard the hummingbirds wings buzzing, and I enjoyed the picture of your boy walking the narrow path of the tree arm. So many ear to ear smiles. What a mom, you are. I still remember happy times from my childhood.
Whiteviolet-how have you been?
Izzie. Took some photographs of things around my stomping grounds. Once roll is finished, they get sent in to be developed.

I'm keeping my threadsy hat and wallet too.
Anyway, once I get them back, I'll post them.

@mismi,
Hi, everyone

Alex- I'm fine at the moment , thanks. The illness comes and goes - it was absolutely hideous and unbearable for couple of weeks recently but I can soon forget it when I feel good as at present. Thanks for asking.

Dev - keep going. I do admire you.

Izzie - you have started something really important here! It's changing people's lives to make such close friends and get such support through difficult times, as well as laughter and enjoyment, and you should be really proud. I really look forward to meeting you in person - probably won't be til next Summer though.

Had a heavenly afternoon - been reading about my favourite area of Paris - St Germain des Pres (peaceful literary/artistic/philosophers area) - in the sun by the waterfront here.

My daughter sent me a beautiful book of photos of the St. G area taken in 1901 by Atget - if anyone has an interest in photography, they may know of him.

We went to St G in June and will be there again to explore more of the area in just over 2 weeks! Magnifique!

The long vacation has seemed so long - it's 14 weeks - but now it's nearing the end and uni starts again late September - and suddenly I have thought of loads of things I want to cram in while I am still free. (For anyone who doesn't know, I'm about to start my 3rd year of a Criminology degree. I'm an extremely mature student!)

Dutchy - stand by, about to try to post a pic of the waterfront (and uni) - if I fail, I will email it to you and perhaps you can post it for me! (Am brunette in real life but very very blonde by nature!)

Loads of love to everyone. T xxx

Izzie

@whiteviolet,
Hello my lovelies....

makes my heart sing when I see y'all here.

I am on my way out the door.... big brother is having his annual BBQ. Ex-hub and girlfriend are going to be there.... so.... should be interesting a? Nah - it's all good - they are happy, so am I - so all is coco - big and brave for the kids on the first "family" gathering. Very Happy

You know what's weird. This is the first time in about 3 years I will will have been with my brother, parents, ex-hub and kids in the same place - mmmmmmmmmmm...... that's a bit telling a? They live just a few miles from me!!!!

Gotta stick to me being me and not feel pressured to be the someone I was in the black world or be who they want me to be. Funnily enough - I feel hugely liberated and free right now - and man, that's a grand feeling. So - I gotta massive smile on my face and I'm ready for a sing song! Somewhere over the Rainbow (Hawaiian style) is kinda singing loudly in my heart - so....... off I go.

Will be back later folksies - and .... living, laughing and loving y'all. xox xxxx

(only an hour later so far.....HA.... just love to procrastinate! Wink )
