Oh yeah - just looked them up - they are like a cross between and crow and a magpie
FQsis and I are both supersitious about things... walking under ladders, shoes on a table.... etc.... but magpies - well - we HAVE to salute them, every time you see one. We have loads here - on the way to work I look like I have a permanent tiwtching arm - salute, down, salute, down... either that or the Queen is hiding behind many bushes and I am the most respectful royalist person in Devon!
