Oh man...why did I listen.....should of stopped at .....
Saturday. Packing six hours of sleep under belt, eventhough it was a late one yesterday.
Gathering at our house today. Wife is making lasagna, and I'm making the appetizers. I'm doing a shrimp cassalinga. Smoked white fish dip, a liver pate, a seven layer bean dip.(with jalapenos or as we call them: hallowchinos or jalapanos..) Maybe that is funny just to me. A canelli bean salad with onion and parsley, and last but certainly not least, my famous hungarian roasted peppers. I don't want to do it, but, I'll have to drive forty minutes to get the fresh baked bread.
...and if anybody would like a mojito, be around here at eight or nine o clock. The fresh garden mint, pure cane sugar, key lime emulsion has been getting happy since yesterday. Fireworks in town at the boardwalk at ten. Bombfire to follow.
That is all for now. Izzie, Dutchy ,mismi, Rockhead, ehbeth, djjd62, setanta, devriesj, tulip, tulips new dog, and everyone else, have a nice day.

Ooh Alex, that sounds really good! If my pool party this afternoon is a bust I'm heading cross state for your shindig!
Hey, where is everybody (else)!?
Got the yard planted with grass and put the straw over so the birdies don't get it, and hopefully in a week to ten days we'll see little grass sprouts! Right now the hose is going full force to water the stuffins out of it. Oy, the water bill!
Hey, has anyone been watching any of the Olympic trials? I was a swimmer in high school and I am completely in awe of the times they post in their swims. Phenomenal! Plus, one woman (Dara Torres) is 41! Go girl!!
Gotta go get ready for my day. Yabber to ya later - or tomorrow!
Have a great one all. I'm thinkin' of ya!
Very Happy

Evening All

Hope you have all had a good Saturday and recovered from your celebrations yesterday.

Little fella has been monopolising the laptop so haven't been able to get on thisavo.

However, I do have a new experience at Chez Izzie. My Babbling Brook is no longer a Babbling Brook - but a blooming torrent of water. Shocked It has rained all day here - (sis, I should be up with you a?) and looky here…

Morning crew. That's seems like a cosy fire Captain, with the temperature down to 5 degrees right now, wouldn't mind cuddling up in front of it.

Hi F/Q and Dev, missed you two as usual, but happy to read you're both doing fine. Well Izzie did you find your sofa?

You all have a great Sunday, mine has already started, seems weird writing this as most of you are still living in Saturday. Smile

Hi Captain, saw you busily playing music, so didn't want to interrupt your line of thought. All well down here and slowly thawing out, young ddxx is really in fine form, I can't get a word (read letter in Laughing ), beats me every time.

We hopped off the ship briefly to go down to the old Brickworks. One of the little dogs managed to get 4 dip and swishes into various streams and ponds. She's a bather, not a swimmer.

It's great to be back on board. I've got dibs on the second deck chair. I've got some mysteries I want to get caught up on.

Good morning Dutchy - looking forward to matching wits later. Good morning Izzieliz - I am very gentle with him don't worry. Everything fine here just been busy doing massssssive clean outs. We were finding stuff we have had for thirty years -ooops. Several tip runs later looking much better. Also having extra shelving put up in the pantry so I can empty out my old fashioned side-board and replace with a more modern one. It is a big old beast but holds sooo much. I have quite a few dinner sets that have been handed down from great, great grandma etc. So have to find new space and I know the more modern side-boards will not have the same holding space. I am a hoarder I know, but a lot of the stuff has sentimental value.

Good morning EhBe. Love mystery novels. Oooh Izzieliz that plate is lovely. I just love looking at the old things and imagining what it was like when they used them. Good idea to put it up on the wall. I also believe in photos, photos, photos on the wall rather than in albums.

aha - here's another special plate of Grannys -

This was made my Wedgwood for the Queens Conronation. It's kept in a draw - don't know where to put it, but it was very special to her... so... it stays

Just heading out to go for a drive to Daylesford for lunch. Very cold this time of year but great restaurants and great second hand book shops which I love to browse through. Probably come back with the car laden.

Have a great afternoon/evening yabbers. Catch you all later. Smile
