I hope Dutch got a glimpse of Holland beating Australia at T20 cricket in Bangladesh. Watching it I must have thought about Dutchy at least once an over. Even more during the Aussie collapse.

Got it wrong again, Spendy!

He probably got a good laugh - but it wasn't the Aussies the Hollanders clobbered - it was those bloody Poms! How the English have fallen!

@Izzie,
Thank you for the update, Izzie - it's so good to know how Danny is getting on. Fingers crossed this nursing home turns out to be the right one - it must be worrying for the family not to have found a suitable home that caters for people needing dialysis.

Really missing Danny - such a kind man, and so much fun to play the word games with!

@ossobuco,
Nice, Osso, will copy and print it out and write on it, that, it's 1 year old Smile

Spendius, yes you two have history over meat pie games huh Smile

(((IZZIE))) I guess when I next visit with a Danish Cake, he'll tell me what next he wants cooked Wink - He has a TV. He watches the news, he would watch any game but I doubt the whole lot, I do know he is really keen on knowing exactly what happened to that plane that went down, keeps asking me what I think IDK.. All a bit weird. And, I know he watched a little bit of our "silly" politics.

I shall visit in the next few days... Have some more photos and messages to deliver Smile He did state that they are "all" remaining, by his bedside. I think it's lovely, whenever he misses us from A2K, there we are with a message or other, thanks again.

Izzie, I know he adores your calls even though you'll need to rob a bank soon Wink

@FOUND SOUL,
Mr Dutchy had his Son and Grandkids visit today, I can only imagine how wonderful that was for him and how excited he was Smile

I'll ring Anna tomorrow and I have printed mostly, mostly everything but I can't go and see him for a few days, I got a colllld or something and it's the last thing I want to give him....

But, I shall deliver as soon as it passes ...

I did hear a whisper that he's considering the Computer again : )May be small, here there, a read, a look a hug, so (((HUGS))) Izzie's Boson ... Is that correct? Smile

And to everyone else. Achoo may make a toasted sandwich.. That's what you do when you don't feel like cooking right?

(HUGS) to anyone that needs it.

HI DUTCHY Smile Bring some photos soon... And messages again... No dinner!! Maybe a cake.

This may sound a bit strange to all you Americans, but my boy was desperate to see a raccoon. They're not native over here, and very few zoos actually have them. When he told me this I realised I'd never seen a raccoon. I finally found a small zoo about 2 hours drive away that had them. They're a lot bigger than I thought. The highlight of the visit was the rainbow lorikeets, beautiful parrot like birds that will sit on your hand and drink from a pot of nectar.

@firefly,
Thank you FF et al...

KP and I will post here together in a few days.

'Til then, please, everyone who has been blessed having Danny a part of their life, continue to send your thoughts and love Down Under ~ Danny's family and friends need all our strength from around the world over the next few days at this most difficult time. All his family will be with him soon, he is not in any pain, he will not suffer any physical pain. His family will give him the peace by holding his hand and wrapping him in love.

Danny is incredibly brave, the most brave and courageous you can imagine - we spoke today... he asked me to thank you all for everything, he asked me to say that you have all shared his life and have been a source of strength to him, he is so thankful for your support over the past 16 months and your friendship over the years... there are no goodbyes, simply "'til we meet again", thank you and i love you.

@izzythepush,
Please when you see him next hug him for me. I have been e-mailing him and Anna - even though I know he probably is not reading them. I am praying for strength, comfort and precious moment by moment time with him for them all.

Hugs to you all Yabber friends.

I don't miss anything izzy ... x

KP visited yesterday and gave him and Anna a Danish, his favourite only it was Apricot darn, KP will visit Wednesday and take an Apple one.

Danny also said " I'm the Boss, don't you ever change that" and, so First Word will always start with BOSS.

Osso, Stormy, Joe D, Ed, Verbs, Annis, Olga and a few others, I sat with him and showed the photos and read out the words, he smiled. I'm so grateful, truly grateful, I can pass these photos and messages on and I can tell you each time, big smile.

I will be sure to again pass on your love Mismi.

Dear Crew and fellow A2Kicans, it was an honor and a privilege to be able talk to Danny (Dutchy) one last time.

Much has been written about his struggle with poor health and he was most concerned that he didn’t want to let down all those who had wished him well by giving up.

Although he will never be able to read these words, I reassure him that the sunshine of his personality had touched the hearts of so many and he would always be held in the highest regard.

We cried a little but laughed a lot as we walked down memory lane and he recounted the great pleasure of the friends made, the fun and laughter enjoyed by being part of the A2K community.

When words were not enough, we exchanged smiles and he said, “Thank them all for me.”

As from today (OZ time) he is seeing only close family till the candle of life burns out.

From Dutchy to you all - Thank you very much for your support.

Remembering the good times…
