Oh no ... poor Danny. What a rotten shame. I feel absolutely gutted on his behalf. What an awful thing to happen. He must feel there is no end to this - it's gone on for so long!

I wish with all my heart and soul that things would really start to go well for him, and that this 'glitch' will soon be sorted out, and that he'll be able to go home to Anna, where he belongs. I do, sincerely, send my healing thoughts, prayers and posivibes towards him - get well soon Danny, a lot of people love you!

Danny caught another infection last time in hospital.

Ms Izzie ((()))) will up-date you - fingers crossed for tomorrow that all goes well and he can go home again.

Anna is a strong woman she's doing good.

I managed to locate our Bosun in his berth and just had a chat with him for about 15 minutes...

I think we're on about Plan C now and hopefully, this will be the one that gets the infection sorted out and he will be able to go home.

He's is completely overwhelmed and disheartened with everything that has happened - I can hear it in his voice and ... he's tired of this. However, he said he will keep fighting for his life - he is trying to remain hopeful... he used the word hopefully 3 times in our conversation which says to me he is not giving up.

He has nothing but good to say about how the nurses are looking after him and no-one is treating him like a lost cause - they will do everything they can to get him right again.

He starts fasting at midnight and they'll operate tomorrow - it was supposed to be today but they were too busy (grrrrr) so it had to be postponed. The antibiotics are going in - the wound is in the groin area where they went in to do the knee bypass and it is this area that's been infected - if the infection has reached the graft area in his knee they will have to re-do the bypass and start all over. He's not too good with anaesthetics and I think, when he wakens he needs to hear that this op tomorrow has done the trick.

Danny needs all the healing wishes we can muster... and to keep his spirits up.

I'm going back into my garden to talk with those I love and those who have gone before me that I feel around me - I was chatting away to our Noddy during the Blue Moon and asking her to watch over... I know physically we can't do a thing - but I have to believe that we can give Danny strength with our support and love. I do believe it.

Keeping hope in my heart and ... well, it was so good to talk to Danny - he's not giving up - he asked me to say

"Please send my love to everyone and tell the crew the 'ole codger WILL be bavk!"

There have been quite a few tears in the hospital, much despondency. Hoping and praying now that Danny will come through this and go home to his Anna. His son and grandson visited with him yesterday and will be going back to see him later in the week, so that will give him strength and a focus.

Keep strong KP - keep that positivity going and give him and Anna a hug and a kiss from me when you see them. Thank you for everything you're doing Down Under. x

So sorry to hear Dutchy is facing more surgery. The poor man has had such a rough year. I'm hoping this is the last one he has to face and it puts him on the road to a full recovery! Sending prayers his way for recovery and to stay strong!

Thanks to all who sent well wishes my way after knee surgery. I seem to be doing ok with recovery. Been real lazy sitting around with leg up and iced getting as much R&R as I can before heading back to work tomorrow. That will really tell me how I am doing. I hope I don't have any "runners" this year!

Glad to hear you are doing well after your knee surgery, Stormwatch. What exactly did you have done? Good that you are getting back to work tomorrow - go carefully at first!

We are all thinking of Dutchy and hoping and praying that all will go well tomorrow - such an anxious time for him and his family.

Thanks Vonny. I had arthroscopic surgery to remove some torn meniscus, and synovial tissue and plica ( whatever that is). I also have some arthritis so some of the cartilage around that was cleaned up as well. Probably not too promising for later in life, but hopefully it helps for a while. Being an elementary school teacher I do have to be able to get around...A LOT!

In your job you certainly need to be mobile - it must get exhausting at times! I had the same operation on my right knee in 1991 - after having my left leg damaged in an accident, I'd put too much strain on the right leg, and finished up with severe - and painful - osteoarthritis. However, the op really worked wonders; I've never had any trouble with that leg since then. I hope yours is equally successful.

((((IZZIE)))) - I often go out into my garden and talk to my little ones about stuff, ask for their help and well stuff....
