Today Ima dressed as a Cabbage Patch doll…

Beth, your cartouche is adorable, an echo to the gentler times of Jane Austin – oh, how I missy those times.

Verby, agreeing with you I am, Fecal coliform levels in the river Ganges near Varanasi are more than one hundred times the official Indian government limits. Polluted it is. Drinking it I’m not.

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the culture and customs of real Indians and not the Cowboy type, may gain edification, but please note…
No one in India talks; they all sing!

Thank you for brightening up my day Izzie, I was watching the Popes last public day today. When I was a child this priest told me I was the cutest looking boy he'd ever seen - I was touched. But I can sympathise with a lot of the priests who committed sexual offences - Most of them started out as altar boys and got sucked into it.

Well you know what they say, ‘Abstinence makes the church grow fondlers.’

@ehBeth,
That is a beautiful room Beth. I will be glad to get one of those with you. Wink

I love that song - it does reflect the day down here. Finally blue skies. ((Izzie)) Love you dear. I am feeling much better today. Just weak. The flubugus vomititus has left. Happily I have had a wonderful purge and should be all about getting ready for the spring and summer. Razz blech.

Daddy had his chemo today. He has two more after this and will be done. He came up for the boys birthday this weekend. He is doing so well. My heart is happy. Of course some of my blues came from the twinks turning 13. Sigh. My babies.

Verbs - love seeing you here. Tryagain is a lovely letch. He is infinitely entertaining. Smile

@mismi,
I had mandarin orange noodles for lunch. That might have been a mistake.
Probably should have waited a leeeetle big longer before indulging in that.

@ehBeth,
I just wrote the following to Roberta on another thread - explains it all.

"I do have a skin cancer, and will have an operation as a matter of some priority - end March or start of April. My own fault - too much sunbathing and never used sunscreen! The surgeon said he wouldn't even do a biopsy, just go straight for it!!! With luck it will be a BCC, basal skin carcinoma, and one operation will, hopefully, get rid of it completely. I say hopefully because, of course, it could be something much nastier. Won't be able to tell until it's done, so the sooner the better. They'll cut away the tumour on the side of my nose and makes a V shaped cut in my cheek, pulling the flap across to graft onto it. It will be under local anaesthetic - less risky, but more scary! I'm to expect a livid red and lumpy scar.

It is good that it's been found and that the operation will take place fairly soon. The hard part now will be the waiting, and hoping, and wondering ......... "

I also said that it helped to share it! It does. I'm not particularly brave, and seeing it in writing like this - well, it makes it real somehow. Possibly makes it more scary too, but having read what some of you have been through - Danny, Roberta, Found Soul among others - well, it humbles me. As a relative newcomer to A2K I feel shy of sharing my problems - but happy that I'm able to. Thank you for your concern. It is greatly appreciated.

@Tryagain,
Aweee, guys

My Internet is down at home and I'm not much in the office, but heck no, I'm the one that was feeling old.... My comment was about me... Roll on 50, in June so I can get over it and look forward to 60's, 70's, maybe 80's..... Kinda hard when your body says, ya ain't so young anymore ...... but your mind says, pfttttttt says who..... I wouldn't hurt a fly let alone a person....

(((Izzie))) Delivery has been made.... This is hard, so many weeks. Danny will surely have to eat lots and lots and lots when he gets home but Anna is a great Cook, so it won't take him long....

Vonny, it is scary.. I also need to make an appointement and get myself checked out, I go brown as soon as the sun hits me, and it does through open inspections and watering that garden... D is concerned over a couple of moles, hang in there though I have a fear of needles Wink Yet, I can give Kia injections night and day for her diabeties... I'm not a tough one there either ...

Feeling flat today, dunno why maybe it's all the problems people are facing at the moment....

Hugs anyways.

@FOUND SOUL,
Gosh - I feel guilty! I don't want to contribute to you feeling flat! You've helped me lots already - chatting on First Word gave me courage to widen my horizons to other threads and talk openly of my cancer - not so scary after one's said the C word a few times!

And 50 is no age at all - wow, girl, you have a lot of mileage left in you yet! Getting checked out - sensible thing to do - wish I'd done it a lot earlier. And needles - no worse than at the dental surgery. The surgeon - a super chap in whom I already have great faith - said I could still go out in the sun - but wearing a hat with a brim and a good sun screen. I would hate to give up my precious garden - took me too long to get it tidied up last year!

Hope your internet is okay soon - must be horrid not to be able to get online. Hugs! Smile

@vonny,
Hey Vonny

It is scary and you don't need to be big and brave. Write it out, talk it out or just distract. Folks here are verra kind and supportive - on that they made a big difference to me

http://able2know.org/topic/125564-1

Say anything, anytime... there's always someone on the deck and milling around the A2K halls, so iffn' you need to have a blather or stomp yer feet, or just a lounge around, a peaceful rest on the waves - write away! (Bethie always has a knitted-life jacket to the ready).

FS - I'm missing Danny madly right now... feeling blue too (tho he's not complaining BBbbwaahhahhahahhahhha) - thank you for delivering, I really do appreciate it and hopefully Danny will feel a little stronger.

Missy - teenage twinkies... bless them. I know you know I know what you know now - celebrate the here and now, look forward to the future, keep those memories of your babies ... and remember, they will always be your babies no matter how big they get. The noodles made me chuckle... best not have too many more of them until the constitution is a little stronger a! Wink You do make me smile Mis. Get well soon lovely. Love you...

MaMaVerby - it is good to see you young lady. How is H-boy doing these days? Jobwise any better? ((MaMaVerby))

((((((JPB)))))) thinking of you girl. x

Bethie - niiiiiiiice, room with a view! Very Happy

Blue - you iz wicked Twisted Evil and you make I laugh Mr. Green

I'll have to share an infamous photo of me in one of my special hats - you could use it as a luggage transporter! I'm not mmmmmmm tall, so I do tend to look a bit like a walking thumb tack.

Very Happy

I'll stop now.

It's embarrassing how many photos there are of me in hats, or kerchiefs, or wigs or something on my head.

The lad and me. There are pix somewhere of us with colanders on our heads.

Throwing in my own hat vote for the girl.

She sent me same major hats when I had brain surgery. I'm not a hat person, but these were doozies. I still wear one on occasion.

@Roberta,
I was just thinking about that.

Packaged up some hats for Roberta - I apparently think hats are required for problem-solving or something like that - and there wasn't even a dent in the hat supply.

Several of the hats that went to Roberta were fresh stock - you never know when there will be a need to send someone a hat!

oh and hoodies - Brenda and I thought hoodies would be good for times when hats wouldn't work
