@verbivore,
Hi verbivore.

At present, Izzie and I are in contact with Mrs Beagle. Danny, is still in an induced coma.. We are all sending out everything in our power to get him to the next step.. He got through the surgery just with some complications, so we are sending him our love and vibes, to get him over those and therefore, be allowed out of the induced coma.

Sorry if it came across differently.... hugs.. He's a special little gawd, tall I mean, lean man... As he would want me to say.

Love ....

Danny....

Gah. Well - I guess normal is good. Though I sure hate to hear all of the stuff he is having to endure....but if it means he will be feeling better then okay. Do make sure he knows the boys and I are praying every night.

Thanks again FS for keeping us up to date. You too my sweet Iz.

Hugs and kisses to all

@mismi,
I've been doing more reading ........... It's a good thing that they put him in an induced coma. If he was losing blood and had low blood pressure that's not good for the brain.. Being in an induced coma, means that it "stops" the brain from using well, all it's power and limits it, allowing swelling to go down and therefore, giving the brain a chance to let the blood flow through the body, heart, properly. Praying that is happening right now.

I've also sent prayers out to facebook, asking all my friends, to write something positive on mine and to then share on their page asking the same.. Ya never know, last time he was over the moon with all the attention he got when told and recovered faster....

He does think I am a witch so you know, can't hurt .... hey Mr D. xx

@mismi,
Update on our Bosun

I have just had a long chat with MrsBeagle.

Danny will remain in a an induced coma for the next 48 hours. She is only able to spend 20 minutes or so with him as they are monitoring him ICU very carefully. I’ve explained as best I can to MrsB about why they will be keeping him in a coma from the knoweldge I have, to let his heart and the swelling etc settle down and that this is a good thing to prevent complications if he were to waken. They need to get as much of the fluid drained and he needs to be stable for wakening him up and for the rest of his body to use less resources. His dialysis is also doing what it needs to.

Danny’s blood pressure is very low and he’s still not getting oxygenated blood – his breathing is being done for him. Whilst she was there today he showed signs of trying to move and his face was frowning. The nurses quickly increased the sedation and he went straight back to sleeping peacefully. It is a sign that he can hear when she talks to him but obviously distressing for MrsBEAgle to see.

Fortunately (double edged) she did get some more information from the surgeon. His operation was longer than thought – he went in at 7am and into ICU at 3pm. During his op his heart stopped twice, however, they managed to get it going...the surgeon said he was very lucky to have made it through the op. This was very hard for Anna to cope with but she’s had a cuppa Wink and is feeling strong again now. They will continue to drain his lungs and hope for improvement over the next 48 hours.

Daughter-in-law is arriving on Sunday and will stay with Anna that night so that will be good for her to have some company. The kids will come down in a couple/three weeks when hopefully Danny will be more aware of what’s going on.

I’ll be phoning her on Sunday morning OZ time and have arranged to always phone at the same time so she does not think it will be the hospital. The nursing staff are very supportive and say for her to ring them any time night or day.

So... again, keep all the vibes, wishes and prayers going, however y’all do it, please do keeping doing it. MrsBEAgle is so pleased to know he has so many folk thinking of them and pulling for Danny.

We did also solve the entire world’s problems, as ya do, so, everyone can sleep peacefully tonight... OK, so we all need a little humour now and again. Wink Razz

@FOUND SOUL,
Ah FS, sorry, didn't see your post...

yep, they induce for good reason and I've explained to MrsB that with the complications in surgery that the surgeon probably needed to wait a bit to see what would happen before informing her of the complications.

This happened to me when my son was born so I get why they did it... and the medical reasons for inducing are very sound. They need only the parts of his body to work as easily as possible right now so that he can get stronger.

OK, realllllllllllllly gotta sleep. Thank you for the updates too and to all the crew for what you do.

Iz x

@Izzie,
Thank you IZZIE.

Good idea, I should do the same, call at the same time. I will call tomorrow (Saturday).

I had a really good feeling last night, the most bizarre, it made me smile.

Now I know why. Sheez Danny, you are one tough cookie, you went in with such vigor and determination. You can't help yourself, here you are induced but no, you have to try to move to let your wife know you are "ok", there.. The frowning I can just say "typical" never satisfied Smile Must have humor too Izzie.

But, with such vigor.... twice the heart stopped and here you are getting help, if you pulled through that, you can pull through ANYTHING.

SENDing it out there as you know I would and do....

GOOD NEWS

(OK, any news is good news right now)

Danny had a comfortable night. He responds when Anna is with him and agitates a lot... he opened his eyes... but the frown is still there - he sooooooooo wants to wake up and is fighting to do so.

So. PLAN A! The doctors will (all going to the new plan) attempt to bring him out of the coma this morning...they will remove the tubes first so that he can breathe on his own... and, if he looks stable and his signs are good, they will gently bring him around. Now, MrsB does know there are no guarantees here and they may need to put him back to sleep if they need to...BUT... Danny is responsive and is fighting like heck to get back into the "waking" world.

So, hopefully... and it's a tentative hope at the time... that when Anna goes to visit this afternoon he may be responsive (not agitated) and possibly breathing for himself.

MrsB. isn't able to stay with him when he gets agitated as it is very heartwrenching and by being there she doesn't want to make him wrestle with himself for not waking up, so she needs to step back and let the nurses do their thang to monitor him... he will remain (even if Plan A works) in intensive care for at least another week... and IMHO, this is the best place for him. He has someone at his bed 24/7 and this can only be a good thing for the Bosun Wink

It's so good to be able to tell you some good news and MrsB. sounded great. I won't phone tomorrow (Sunday) as DIL with be with her all day and they need family time... but will call again on Monday morning same time as tonight.

Gosh, needed that good news... the last 24 hours have been long and I can imagine how hard this is for MrsB. Yet... we still laugh and take the mick as we're talking. She's a very strong cookie. Love her.

Feeling elated at the moment... keeping in my mind that this is a very little step on how far Danny needs to go... but by Golly Gosh, he's certainly wanting to get back to life with the wife and his wish is to travel up to Port Lincoln to see his Grandchildren - under his steam, with a working heart. It's a great motivation to get well and heal.

Keep doing all you can ((((Crew))))... I don't know for sure that he can hear us all - but I know for sure he is aware of how many folk are pulling for his recovery.

Keeping it in perspective again, there is a long road, hopefully tomorrow he will be able to look MrsB in the eyes and squeeze her hand. I will be having a quick wander outside to converse with the planets and stars in a moment... and put all healing wishes to Down Under...

and Margo, that means you too - soooooooo hoping you are feeling better and have recovered. Do continue to take it easy Shelia!!!!!! (((((((((((((((Margo)))))))))))))))))))

and them thar good wishes to Boida in Noo Yawk with her upcoming surgery...

and to Missy's PaPa who'd going through his chemo sessions.

Love to all you and yours

and this amazing crew who help so much... just with a few kind words and deeds... what a difference y'all do make. Thank you.

Anna asked me to thank everyone, she appreciates all your good wishes.

and... to bed I must go.

So nice to be able to go to sleep tonight with good thoughts running through my mind...

quick jaunt to the river where I find my strength... and have a chat with Scooby and my peace.

Thank you ALL!
