Batter down the hatches, Cap'n, heavy rain and gales forecast for the south-west.

(Again.)

This weekend, the family here is gathering for the 90th birthday of mother-in-law. Folks from Germany and Canada are coming, and some already here. Restaurant booked, cake ordered, we hope everything goes well.

Greetings earthlings and thank you for your words of support after my recent medical and the doctor’s prognoses that I will die sometime! I asked for a second opinion; and he added that I was butt ugly too!

Although ostracized from polite society I walk amongst you to share my shock and utter disbelief that an erstwhile shipmate has sold-out to the machine!

They say that one man’s detritus is another’s feast, however as I waited in Marlinton, West Virginia for Mr ‘No Show’ J.W. Wandel who I had hoped would officially open the annual Road Kill Cook-Off (due to his propensity for fodder.)

I had time to ruminate over the corpse of another fallen marsupial (and I don’t just mean Mitt Romney) ima referrin’ to flat line possums slow cooked with vegetables, made into a spicy stew known in these here parts as burgoo; just make darn sure you throw in a handful of Phaseolus lunatus for max effect - enjoy.

So what you may ask put the burr under my saddle!
Well, to be honest it wasn’t my failure to find any gays in Florida; it was more that Rocky; my hero, pioneer and frontiersman has moved into an abode with a pitched roof!

This was more of a shock than BVT having his hair cut!!! I kid you not; he looks like he has abandoned the alter of Rock and Roll and joined an 80’s boy band! My condolences to Squinney.

I can’t remember feeling so down since Missy shouted, “Take that ridiculous mask off and get off my property or I’ll set my pet squirrel onya.” Fearing for my nuts I backed off, but that is the last time I will be using Sweet Georgia Brown Hair Dressing Pomade.

I would also like to wish Margo a pleasant vacation in Scotland; I went to visit once with the Sea Scouts on an exchange trip to see Nessie, but we got too wet and a kid nearly drowned when we pitched our tents.

Dear Tulip, your decorum in the face of adversity has been an inspiration to many and has shed light into the darker recesses of doubt and despair. I wish good health, peace and tranquillity be restored to you and so it shall be done.

A quick mention if I may for Izzy; for not only has he had to contend with his soccer team languishing at the bottom of the table, but he has given up his flu shot so it may benefit another. Now I know he doesn’t suffer fools gladly, so I must be circumspect in saying that was a pretty magnanimous gesture to make; I say three cheers for Izzy…….
‘Huzzar, Huzzar, Huzzar’.

Now iz it true that our dear Capitano won a fortune on the State Lottery? If so, can you discretely enquire if she is looking to adopt a fallen angel from the Appalachian Mountains?

Salutations and good fortune to the Oz crew, commiserations to the Canuck dynasty and Gung Hei Fat Choy to the one billion Chinese.

I’ve gotta go, I think I hear Missy calling me in for supper; either that or the jailor saying, lights out! Sizzle = Mizzle!

Hugs to all.
Arrivederci.

I missed the West Virginia Road-Kill event because I had a prior commitment. Mismi and I are working on setting up a Yabber-Liner swimsuit competition. Negotiating for Izzie's permission has been difficult because she generally discourages such things. However, Dutchy has signed up to be a judge and I am hoping Izzie will give permission as a favor to Dutchy.

@wandeljw,
I'm honoured by this appointment wandeljw, I will waive my usual fee for an event like this, and hope Izzie will give me the nod. So pleased to see Mismi is your partner in setting up this contest, did she ever tell you I awarded her first prize in a wet "T-shirt" contest some years ago? Laughing Sorry to let the cat out of the bag miss sunshine. I'm sure tryagain will put in an appearance now that he knows mismi will be around. Needless to say you need to keep an eye on him as the Mountain Man is capable of doing anything at any time.

So, outta the habit…

Yep, permission granted SpecialAgentjw and a splendid idea I might add on this cold, wet and windy day. BEAgle you may sit in between Missy and I and be the judge – you & jw have done such a fine job arranging the swimming cozzie deckwalk to entertain the crew, I am most grateful Very Happy

I am so looking forward to seeing what’s on offer – the new itzy-bitzy bikini's this year are absolutely fabulous! Wink (well, I could hardly say teeny-weeny, could I Cool )

There are some lovely hot pink bikini’s in fashion!

just the job!

And I have always adored a tea by a Loch

or tea at a beach, or tea by the river, or…. Well, you get the gist a? Not so keen at tea in Sin City but what an utterly incredible swimmer he iz.

Of course, we do need to know that the contestants are strong and athletic. We award extra points for being hands on, <my bad> … on hands.

And of course, we will have to see formal wear

So, let’s begin with the Big Bang.

Lalllllllallala sweet dreams….looking for something…lalallllllllllllllla

<oh my, my sense and sensibilities have surfaced with a menopausal flush> Embarrassed

OK, back to the importance of being Earnest … … which of course is the sign or promise of what is to come… and on a promise – thank you Earnest … or is that Nearest!

So, on to ship's matters

Thank you for your thoughts POMcT, wishing MIL 90th a wonderful weekend, enjoy the family being together; are the newlyweds joining y’all? We did get a tad battered down in the SW – not as bad as a few weeks ago but many flood watches are still in place. Our river is flowing quite nicely and after the summer we’ve had, I do actually believe there is no danger here (despite the derned insurance companies <thieving b*stids> who have hiked up all the premiums!)

Talking of hikes…
My young man is doing his DofE this week with a 35K pack. I’m a bit precious about him but he’s well up for the challenge and I’m so hoping that the weather won’t be dire. Meatball boil in the bags <gag>, cuppa soup and highcal snacks. I am always amazed at his courage to do such challenges.

MissssssssssssyMis – keeping posi-thoughts and prayers for The Professor and a work opportunity presenting itself – I know there is a lot of political furore going on out there which is prolly not helping right now… you keep on keeping on, focus on your family and keeping your faith and you will achieve all that you need to – you will Dixie. I am sure of it, time will take care of it. Love you mucho! Very Happy

MaMaVerby – how quickly time passes and your little man is soon to have another birthday. Hardly seems possible, does it. Don’t be too hard on yourself, you can’t change the past… just “be” and start each new day with a clean slate. Hug your little man for me and love ‘n hugs to you! Very Happy

RH – pleased to see you on the deck too and good to know you are enjoying the theatre work. Happy days Very Happy

Good to see you too ci ~ et al the crew.

Wishing Margo the very best of trips and hoping the flight was relaxing an all your bags will have arrived in the UK. Have a great trip up North and onto Italy <sigh> You are gonna have the best time! YAY!

(((((((((((lyBlue))))))))))) spicy stew a? mmmmm, just lima little closer! Wink So glad to see you have bean coco! Hugs to you and yours xox x

Wishing the world a gentle day, near and far xxxxxxxxxxxx---

Back to bed now - see y'all later!

BWAHAHAHA....

Hilarious Wandel...you wanted to see woman flesh!

I would love nothing better than to set anchor at a distant island with turquoise water and white sandy beaches with the lot of you. Wouldn't that be a blast?

Lerd - I forgot about the wet t-shirt contest Dear Dutchy....of course you would remember though. You and that steel trap of a memory of yours. Wink

You ain't kidding JPB. Holding my jaw up even as we - type. Hugs you

Tryagain. Love it when you make your way back on board. Of course your nuts are safe. Keep 'em snugged up in one of those itty bitty bikinis Iz has so kindly posted and they are sure to be safe and secure. Or will they? hm
Sizzle = Mizzle! Love that.

OHHHHH you meant nuts that squirrel's eat. my bad. I wouldn't touch those nuts.

Pitched roof indeed for Rock. Lovely hot water too. WOO HOO! And a semblance of normalcy to boot. Who are you? Razz

Okay -

Love you Iz.

Have a great weekend all. I have to be up at the school VERY shortly to teach 6th grade today - just for the afternoon. Love sixth graders.
