@McTag,

Quote:
Was that in English? I can't figure it out.

wink wink only kidding

Did you know that in Germany, wink means to wave? Winken.
And Besen is a broom, which is the same as a dialect English and Scottish word.
cf. "Ya wee bizzom!"
fascinating, eh.

The lamb casserole was nice, and warmly received. And, we've got half left over for tonight or tomorrow.
My car's in for an MoT this morning, so I better get ready.

I could sit and listen to a Scotsman talk all day. Love it I do.

The casserole is making my tummy rumble. I am hungry. Wink Wink

@mismi,

Just looking in, not much to say today.

Am feeling a bit too tired, so have cancelled my night drinking beer with my chums.
The horseless carriage passed its MoT (the annual Ministry of Transport roadworthiness test) with flying colours. If only its owner were as fit.

The remainder of the lamb casserole went down a treat this evening, no lack of appetite here.

Try, are you really a Harvard professor? That would be good. I've been there, and got the baseball cap to prove it. Baseball cap cum laude, that's me.
I liked The Social Network, filmed there, and the **** Truck, an old Harvard custom I believe.

@McTag,
Glad the casserole did the job. I had to respond because your post keeps coming up as new, and I've read it umpteen times now. At least if mine does, I'll know it isn't. Does that make sense?

@izzythepush,

No. Maybe the meaning will dawn on me later. Everything seems normal at the mo, or at least what passes as normal round here.

Tough, Schalke.

Good morning <yawn> world…

My dear Mc T, please convey my most sincere congratulations to your most charming cabin boy; I make no assumptions or draw any untoward conclusions for I once had a ‘fag’ at a British independent school; however I have given up smoking now and make merry with Fuerza Aérea Guatemalteca.

In answer to your enquiry as to my present curriculum vitae, may I say:

America's dozen Ivy League Universities, on top of the list comes Yale and Harvard or perhaps Harvard followed by Yale. By and large America does not have an upper class accent distinct from that of commoners as is heard in England.

The only exception is Harvard which has imbibed some of Boston's brahmanical air of superiority by its distinct upper class speech.

There was a young country boy who was not very bright; but he was in fact rich enough to be accepted to Harvard…

One of my first assignments at Harvard was to write a paper on a famous person. I didn't know who I would write about so I decided to go to the library and do some plagiarism. But I didn't know where the library was. I then saw a professor walking down the hall. I stopped the professor and said to him, "Do you know where the library is at?"

The professor looked at me somewhat strangely and says, "Young man, here at Harvard we never end a sentence in a preposition."
So I said, "Oh, excuse me. Do you know where the library is at; asshole?"

I wuzz that country boy and needless to say I never matriculated!
However, that didn’t stop me from joining all three fraternities, Sigma Chi, Alpha Epsilon Pi, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and the sorority of: Kappa Alpha Theta. Butt that is another story!

Next time if any of all y’all visit, just ask for; Alpha Theta Theta Kappa.
That is A for Able, two and K for Know = Able2Know!

May y’all receive Easter in your hearts and chocolate in your tummies.

Ps. Frank, I strongly suspect all your prophecies will come true.

Morning Crew

SCHOOOOOOOOOOOOL'S OUT Very Happy

What a busy term it was.

Looks as if it's been busy on the deck too and I need to catchup on what's been going on. Warms my heart to see y'all here Arrow

It appears, as we've all be keeping on keeping on, England is now in the "Don't Panic" zone (and folk have mustered to their Panic Stations) and there's no such thing as "Keep Calm & Carry On" any longer. I so dislike politicians - smarmy little suckers and the Unions certainly pick their moments.

Think I may need to go buy a pasty. Wink

Anyhoo, 'nuff of that Mr. Green

Tomorrow we're off to see Phantom of the lallalllllllllllllla with Tulip and kids, which will be wonderful. Really looking forward to that. Little fella breaks up today and I'm planning for a relaxing Easter break.

So, how is the woild today?

((Missy)) - glad you made it down to MaMa&PaPa and had a great time. There's a spot of lobster in my garden (the suns rays caught me), fortunately no crappies! Razz All set for the weekend and BBall. Go boyz! ((((Missy))))

BEAgle - how are you darlin'? Did 'I' come and stay? Autumn a? Youda thought it was summer here... back to our regularly scheduled weather over the weekend tho. ((((((((((BEAgle))))))))

((Blue)) who knew!
FeTiO3 + 2H2SO4 TiOSO4 + FeSO4 + 2H2O
TiOSO4 TiO2nH2O + H2SO4
TiO2nH2O TiO2 + nH2O

Titanium, being the ninth most abundant element in the earth’s crust, was discovered in 1791, at Creed in Cornwall, England by amateur geologist Reverend William Gregor in 1791.

Dulux Brilliant white is not white due to EU regulations - "lower your VOC" they said (no no no, not the Voices of Chinese, not the Vote Of Confidence, not the Viagra Owners Club Mr. Green ) "lower your Volatile Organic Compounds", so yellow was the new white, and certainly not brilliant white, possible a whiter shade of pale Shocked

Ah, who knew Blue was reflecting, the Hunter and Gardener... oops Gardner! You and your Tri Stimulus Values!

Oh my dear Izzie, we both posted simultaneously at this un godly hour; at least this puts a cap on the rumor that we are one and the same; what with me being so kind, charming caring and so on.

So if you have a brew on the go I shall mosey on over for breakfast where we can continue our discussions as to why over 70% of the global white pigment market is controlled by a few companies led by DuPont.

I will also bring some sun block to restrict further intrusion by ultra violet rays.

Have a great time at the concert. lol

Thank you Izzie for sharing some quality time yesterday, just don’t tell Missy or she may well come to the conclusion that I’m two timing her, and I don’t want to upset the Professor!

I feel a synonym of enmity coming on; antipathy to volition in a list of theological demons which brings me to Mr Hunter and my sometime favorite nom de plume; Abaddon!

May one safely assume Mr Hunter that you come aboard to celebrate the birthday today of René Descartes? If so, welcome aboard; if not: What have you done to our dearly missed Wandel, oh, and the other guy that sometime posts and hails from Terra Australis Incognita, or as they say, La Australia del Espíritu Santo?

I may be A baddon but I simply must protest over the purchase of 50 islands of the Danish West Indies for $25 million and renaming them the Virgin Islands; this is the biggest deception ever since the Louisianan purchase; and I am yet to find a maiden that can bare witness to that name!
Sheesh! Not one that can be called an island -

I just demolished the most surreal breakfast and was shocked when the warder said there would be no charge; although he did assure me that I would be more shocked when there was a charge. I guess that is the charge you pay in these shocking times – Have a great weekend y’all.

My dear JW, if Izzie did to you what Missy did for me, may I offer you my deepest condolences; you poor sweet man.

The last time I was so shattered was when Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points in a NBA game!

That’s right, one hundred points; never been done since!
Kobe Bryant’s 81 is way back next best.

Did I ever tell you the Professor can slam dunk; or as we say, スラムダンク,( Suramu Danku).
再見.

@Roberta,
I just know this is Dutchy's fav thread, favourite people and I know it's only been three days, but given his last words were "see you in the morning" 3 days ago, just wanted to place this post, hey Dutchy, we know you are OK and see you soon.

I don't know how to contact him to confirm that, other than email and sorry for writing on this post, he cracks me up every morning, most nights, and is a beautiful person and talked about this thread ALL the time, just didn't want him to think that no one noticed he's not here or why.

Hey FS - ah, he is so wonderful and is very much loved all over A2K. Hopefully it's a case of his internet being down or something quite simple like that and he has had problems since he changed providers, it does happen now and again. Will keep phoning without trying to intrude on the family. If we all keep our heart beats going in time, they'll reach him and he knows we'll be thinking about him, without a doubt, he'll know. He knows we love him.

Welcome Aboard FS - 'tis very good to have to you here Very Happy

Same old, same old with me. I'm eh. Happy April. And glad you liked the show. Haven't been to a show in ages. I miss the excitement of live entertainment. Hell I miss the excitement of entertainment. Well, I've got the tv and my computer. Not entirely without.

Enjoy your glorious day, and do check on the fire.
