Hey all,
funny old day! Am tired from weekend, had no rest! What with visitors and travelling, then work! oh I need a new life and some sun!

This week is a bit tough for us! struggling but keeping going! Will be 4 years since my husband died on the 26th! I keep thinking - 4 years ago he was here with us and here I am now alone! struggling!

To top it all I need 3 new tyres on my car!So my credit card will be out on Wednesday as that is when I have booked it in! Blimey life eh!

At least I have a day off tomorrow and will be vegetating at home as that is what I need to do!

Hugs all X

Made me laugh - but seriously - can't be any worse than chopped liver. Even if Roberta is making it - and I am sure it is yummy. Smile They are both innards right?

@mismi,

Nothing wrong with haggis, if there's nothing else to eat and you've drunk enough whisky first.

I found out two interesting things today: first, the little guy from the Flight of the Concords is writing songs for The Muppets, they call that an artistic collaboration, and also that there were two Bernard Herrmans, contemporaries, one being a leading British bandleader and arranger, and another one who wrote movie scores.

How about that.

@McTag,
Well sure - I'd say drinking enough whisky would take care of most of my food fears. Very Happy

I love Flight of the Concords. Brett is the smaller fellow I think. They are brilliant.

I did not know about the 2 Herrmans. Interesting stuff. Smile

Late where you are isn't it McT?

Thankfully only 2 people died that I know of. One of them was a student of a friend of mine in Clay. She was thrown from the house along with her parents and her brother - her dad and brother landed in the pool and she did not. Her mom was covered in debree but they got her out. They found Christina on her bed like she was sleeping - she was 40 feet away from the house they say. How did she stay in her bed? So bizarre...and it makes me cry. I am tired and a wee bit weepy.

I think I am signing off for the night folks. I have have tried to hold my head up the best I can for the day. Gonna' feed the boys and call it a day.

Hugs you all.

@mismi,
Oh how horrible mismi, I saw it on our TV news this morning and immediately thought of you. Glad you and your family are safe but feel sorry for your friends. Nature can be wonderful but also terribly cruel. Good night my friend, sleep well if that is possible with such destruction on your mind. (((mismi)))

@JPB,
Thank you so much Dutchy. Believe it or not - I am still fighting to stay awake. I am afraid if I go to bed now I will wake up at 2:00AM and I DO NOT want to do that again. (((Dutchy)))

Thank you JPB. I need them. I am sad for Kathy and Christine's family. I don't even want to imagine walking where they have to. It causes me such sadness for them. (((JPB)))

Really Rock? I did not know that. Well I love Milky Ways. They are delish to be sure.

@mismi,
You take care chuck, sounds like you've been to hell and back. Brett from the Conchords is behind the music for the new muppet movie, and Jermaine is the villain in the forthcoming Men in Black film.
Milky ways and mars are not the same. A mars bar is like a milky way with a layer of soft caramel as well.

Hope the storm has gone. It's chucking it down here, my little boy has had his horse riding cancelled. He's not too happy.

@izzythepush,

I remember the day (1950s, whisper it) when a Mars Bar really was a Mars Bar. It had chewy toffee and other wonderful things on the inside, and chunky chocolate on the outside.
Sometime in the 60s I think, they changed the recipe (and the size) and made them more like Milky Way. But they're still different of course, only a pale shadow of their former magnificent selves.

So late that when I'd finished typing that, I fell across the keyboard in a swound, and slept the sleep of the just until now. I just had to clear the drool off the keys, and then started afresh.

Have you been readin' Tam 'O Shanter? It's just been voted favourite Burns poem.

@mismi,

These are horrific pictures of storm devastation.

Is it not standard building practice, when building houses in a tornado area, to make underground storm shelters as a matter of course?
How much notice do you get of the approaching storm?
I'd rig up a slide, similar to a water-chute, to get me down there sharpish.

Reading? No, I learnt it at school

When chapman billies leave the street
An' drouthy neeghbours neeghbours meet

What's not to like?

we think na on the lang Scots miles
The mosses, waters, slaps an' stiles
That lie between us and oor hame
Where sits oor sulky, sullen dame
Gatherin' her brows like gatherin' storm
Nursing her wrath tae keep it warm
